I think her downside is that she only really shines with Meter. And in this game it seems like you don´t wanna spend it that often because many characters have 50% combos for touching you with a 7 frame move like Raiden. You need that Combo Breaker

Her b4 is arguably one of her best moves and it can combo or mix up with scorpion, sub zero, sareena etc. It can also break armor, is safe and has good range, decent damage and it's quite fast. She only has one overhead in the open, but it's 28 frames which is incredibly easy to react to. Honestly just up block when she's in the air or after her b2 and just keep ducking and you'll easily beat her.
I know before the 19th, you could air dash once during an airborne string for no meter in a combo Combine that with a good air kameo like scorpion and I'm sure she can still hurt with or without meter
I kinda disagree to an extent because she doesn’t really need it depending on what you run for Kameos, but I do still agree that she still needs to spend meter to get really high damage. That said, because she has high damage, she doesn’t need to do much whether or not she has it.
Yeah, Megan could have atleast added some “hiss” to her voice, instead she just repeated the lines off the script as if she was reading. Imagine how baraka would sound if Steve Blum didn’t change his voice at all and just read of the script in his own voice, that’s basically Megan fox voicing nitara.
I don’t entirely blame Megan fox on Nitara. It’s just, her voice sounds like she has a completely different microphone compared to everyone else. Like you can hear Ermac’s multiple voices and how far away someone sounds, sounding like they’re right there in the game. But everytime Nitara talks it sounds like Megan’s right in my ear and it throws me off each time I hear it lol
There are 2 other things that Blood Sacrifice does, it makes her bad breath move deal damage over time (forgot if it affects only the enhanced version or both with and without meter) and it makes her bite heal her HP. The other problem is how much meter she can use up because her air dashes require 1 bar of meter for each consecutive air dash, not sure if it count during a really long combo but doing it twice in a row will cost a bar. Overall she’s really fun and about time she made it back.

People only think she's bad because they only want to use Sereena as a Kameo. They're using what's safe & easy, not what's actually good for the character. Nitara doesn't have many combo options, but if you use a suitable kameo she'll be able to use more options.
@@PewPewShootEmUp IMO nitara does not need any help when it comes to extending air combos. Sareena is very good for her because she can use it to start combos off of her mid(f1) and low(b4), and Sareena is less heavily punishable than most other combo extenders. I think once you get good at the single hit confirm off of Nitara's f1 , Sareena might not be the best, but that is pretty tricky to get good at. Sareena also gives her a great reversal that is very good because Nitara's reversal is pretty bad. I think most Nitara players seem to think Kung Lao is the best because the hat toss is just so damn helpful for making stuff safe and controlling some screen space. But Sareena is one of the best. Sub zero might be a great pick vs zoners as well.
@@justtkrl I agree with this because I'm a full commit kamikaze with Nitara just praying they don't block my 1 hit confirm, Sareena is definitely safer and allows you to go into your stuff without committing to unsafe strings, I prefer the Scorpion and Sonya combos though. I might use Sareena with Nitara since I moved Sareena off Li Mei just to see the zoning and damage capabilities
I hated her in the 3D era but in this one I fell in love with instantly with all the air combo stuff she can do, plus any character that can get 40% off of a simple jump kick is scary
nitara is literally air gas kabal but somehow better😭😭 one decent thing about her is her interaction with sareena. if sareena does the 2 sickles u can block/duck the first 2 hits, then u can do s4~bf1 and even tho the sickles return the hit stun from bf1 is so long she can micro dash up and do 1,2,1,2 into a combo

Ah that’s a cool combo idea off a trade, will experiment with this. If you want to avoid taking the hit, block/duck the first 2 blades and then use b4 to punish like below: B4~dbf(whiff)~ex divekick (sideswitch) actually combos. This works because: - b4 is plus enough to connect to ex divekick - you can cancel whiffed db2 into air specials if u burn a bar - you can land the ex divekick after you crossed over them whiffing db2. You can do like 400dmg for the full combo, no kameo
@@ghosty8745 She also has no mixups basically. Her only overhead is 30 frames and insanely easy to react to and the follow ups can either be ducked under or just blocked while ducking. Just keep crouch blocking and block her b2 and she'll start falling apart

Good normals, footsies, her air fireball is great, a great teleport and she can easily get around 40% with sareena and around 35% meterless with goro while chipping you out and being safe. Her mid is very solid and her b3 as well as b344 is solid for low profiling and breaking armor. Also if you crouch block her armor move she just goes over you as well and she can easily still keep herself safe with goro if you block it properly. She’s nowhere near low tier imo. I mean just look at nitara’s armor move. It’s an unsafe, high, low range projectile that doesn’t knock down, launch or anything. You can frame trap her into a d1 and she just can’t retaliate as her armor move just sucks. To be a good nitara you have to be incredibly patient and look for the opponent’s mistakes. I mean nitara isn’t plus on literally anything, so the moment you mess up your punish you’re back to blocking.

But kidnapping sapient lifeforms to be trapped in pens, bled out for the rest of their days, forced to breed so their children will be condemned from birth to the same vicious cycle? That's evil. More egregious when other characters point out there are reasonable alternatives, and Nitara rebuffs them because the immortality granted by higher blood is too important to Vaeternus (even though the immortality was part of the problem to begin with). Pity a species who'd sooner mutilate others than confront its own flaws.
I absolutely love Nitara and with a game with a line up this strong I am surprised I am using her as much as I am. I am still learning and have a long way to go but even still I used her in a certain game mode. This video gave me some more ideas, thank you for that TUG.
Another thing about Blood Sacrifice is that using it deals a small amount of damage to Nitara herself. So theoretically in a match if you're using Blood Sacrifice a lot, her low HP will definitely factor in.
She's great if the opponent keeps doing punishable moves on your block, or does not block. Amazing combo damage. If they don't do those things, she never gets to do her combos, her best mixups are two hit strings that lead to at most 100 dmg. She's a great character design for a game that does not have a block button to negate crossups. Sadly MK1 does have a block button.
Man I can't wait for when you talk about Shang tsung the one thing that I noticed from pro Shang tsung players and the very hard AI of Shang tsung do for any combos is that Shang tsung will always stay in his old form because the only attack that can connect with combos is Shang tsungs floor skull fire ball because the hit box for it is really big that in the air if the enemy is not near it can still get hit by it and it's so broken that you can do 6 in a row with 1 special meter burn

I think the biggest issue with Nitara is she has zero mixup, and her overhead Franes are way too long on top of that almost all of her, launchers are very unsafe. She’s dependent on the opponent messing up not the players skill She needs buffs🎉
The lab definitely needs more attention. Cant tag moves and i hate having to pause the game every 30 seconds to look at loves. Come one NRS thats been a feature since MKX! Lol

Question for everyone! If you're were given the choice to pick a new voice actor to replace Megan Fox as Nitara? Who would you all pick? Me personally: Grey Griffen (Azula (Avatar the Last Airbender), Catwoman (Batman Arkham City))
I have no problem with it being Megan Fox, but someone should sit down with her, explain about who this character is so Megan can sound more intothe role and deliver her lines with the right tone. And (this is for the writers) make up your mind on where you want this character to go. What I did like i that they seem to want to make this character into somewhat of a conflicted Hanzo: she's not evil, doesn't want to be per se but at the same time has a stigma against her and she can't escape what she is... She has a very unique character with great potential in a story on how and where you put her moral compass. That together with her design... I already loved her from MK:DA, but here in MK1... She's my most played by a LARGE distance and that will not change ever.
She has been my main since day one of drop. The only problem that I have aside from her health is that, to my understanding, she is the only character without an armored EX. Now if she did, she would be nigh unstoppable depending on the move, but you are very vulnerable in any take downs from your opponent 😅
bf1ex is armored. It's the only good wakeup option she has imo. Maybe someone will find something else but it's the only one that is consistently good it seems.
For future reference just keep blocking low and up block when she jumps. Her only overhead is 30 frames and the only other way she can mix you up is with an unsafe kameo
9:55 I only use that move when my Kameo has the opponent frozen but the distance is too great for the dash attack. That move usually reaches them so that I’m able to get some type of free dmg
Something I played around with is using cyrax for his helecopter at the end of an un-amplified ‘quick taste’. Let’s you hit 30%ish when you don’t have meter
Nitara is relatively fun to play & her animations/combos are sick to pull off. I even manage to get a amazing new skin for her as well. Everything is great about her except for 1 thing and that's her voice. And not to go and attack Megan Fox like everyone else is for I respect her in what she does in films & such, but in regards to her voice acting in animation it is left to be desire. Tho I do hope she takes time to practice more on that and hope for future endeavors for her and that when the dlc for other characters would do better!
People should regret making fun of Ronda in the previous game. Megan is just reading the text from a piece of paper with no emotions. This is not how voice acting works. Sorry, but Ronda was so much better giving voice and character to Sonya Blade.
I think one thing everyone forgets about NiTara. Is every character in this game has zoning abilities, but Natara, saying just use the right cameo doesn’t work when you need a cameo that has zoning abilities…..example Scorpion
I picked her up immediately when the game came out and I enjoy her a lot! One utility usage for the dive kick on her is that on the 221 string you can cancel into dive kick and side switch with your opponent and follow up with something like 1212 into aerial combo or another 221 into quick bite meter burn or something like scorpion or Goro to keep them popped up or maybe with the right timing a Jax Kameo grab (haven’t messed with him on Nitara)
Li mei and barraka are my mains currently. Really enjoy both them and not to complicating to learn and use. Honestly I just suck with nitara pun not intended
I was praying someone who was using her online. I was using Reiko and doing good. The match was close and they accidentally imputed the blood sacrifice and killed themselves
She's honestly terrible, he's not considering that her only normal to check opponents is her down 1, everything else is over 20 frames and she can't combo confirm anything except her one but one buttons hits. She needs buff bad
Nitara fatal blow is bad in competitive fight, harder to land with someone who moving a lot. Her fatal blow is best when your opponent decides to jump attack you, you get them on air.
pair her with Sonya who gives you more max hp, and her square wave is an amazing air extender, and her charged up onion rings can cover for blood pact setups... covers basically everything for Nitara.
Nitara is super duper fun and my favorite character in this game but she’s lacking. She’s super unsafe if you know where her openings are. Her main combo starter is an unsafe string and she has 0 mix, just mostly overheads and highs. Not to mention her only projectile is slow and can only be used after blood sacrifice and she’s just an incredibly punishable character. This is all on top of being perhaps the most meter hungry character since her method of mixing you is utilizing her air dash creatively but it’s incredibly limited and requires bar after attacks like B2
i love the excitement you have for the character. lol Everyone saying she is low tier but she is everywhere. I love the look but not my first pick. Once I get better with Reptile I may pick her or Ashran up.
All the stuff she wants to do for pressure costs meter and she’s not a character that builds bar well on her own. It happens too often where I’m being very conservative with my resources and still end up having less meter than the opponent ( not using armored wake-ups , going for meterless punishes mostly ) yet we see characters like baraka, raiden, scorpion,etc burning bars like crazy and always have a breaker available when u land a hit. I’m not shitting you, i can land first hit bonus with Nitara and seconds after my opponent already built more bar than me😂 Would not mind all the gaps in her strings or the stubby normals if her air cancels off the buttons did not cost a bar

Yeah... the mix sounds different, the panning... it's like she recorded in a different studio, with different acoustic too...

Sareena is a VERY good kameo for her, you can literally confirm (not extended through) a lot of combos with her using Sareena as kameo

She has been my main since day one of drop. The only problem that I have aside from her health is that, to my understanding, she is the only character without an armored EX. Now if she did, she would be nigh unstoppable depending on the move, but you are very vulnerable in any take downs from your opponent 😅
bf1ex is armored. It's the only good wakeup option she has imo. Maybe someone will find something else but it's the only one that is consistently good it seems.

Yeah I’ve been getting caught in the blender that is Nitara. She just gets you in that 15 hit meat grinder combo for 320- nasty business.
For future reference just keep blocking low and up block when she jumps. Her only overhead is 30 frames and the only other way she can mix you up is with an unsafe kameo

Man Nitara is built for creativity and optimal combos
9:55 I only use that move when my Kameo has the opponent frozen but the distance is too great for the dash attack. That move usually reaches them so that I’m able to get some type of free dmg
Something I played around with is using cyrax for his helecopter at the end of an un-amplified ‘quick taste’. Let’s you hit 30%ish when you don’t have meter
Do it exactly when she takes a bite for best results
Nitara is relatively fun to play & her animations/combos are sick to pull off. I even manage to get a amazing new skin for her as well. Everything is great about her except for 1 thing and that's her voice. And not to go and attack Megan Fox like everyone else is for I respect her in what she does in films & such, but in regards to her voice acting in animation it is left to be desire.
Tho I do hope she takes time to practice more on that and hope for future endeavors for her and that when the dlc for other characters would do better!
People should regret making fun of Ronda in the previous game. Megan is just reading the text from a piece of paper with no emotions. This is not how voice acting works. Sorry, but Ronda was so much better giving voice and character to Sonya Blade.

I think one thing everyone forgets about NiTara. Is every character in this game has zoning abilities, but Natara, saying just use the right cameo doesn’t work when you need a cameo that has zoning abilities…..example Scorpion
I think her F4,3,4 would work as an ender after the drivekick, I could be wrong, I gotta lab. Gotta finish the Geras lab first tho 😅

I picked her up immediately when the game came out and I enjoy her a lot! One utility usage for the dive kick on her is that on the 221 string you can cancel into dive kick and side switch with your opponent and follow up with something like 1212 into aerial combo or another 221 into quick bite meter burn or something like scorpion or Goro to keep them popped up or maybe with the right timing a Jax Kameo grab (haven’t messed with him on Nitara)
Her most critical weakness is her voice acting
We should make them redo nitaras voice lines and have megan fox put some personality into her lines
Li mei and barraka are my mains currently. Really enjoy both them and not to complicating to learn and use. Honestly I just suck with nitara pun not intended

She's honestly terrible, he's not considering that her only normal to check opponents is her down 1, everything else is over 20 frames and she can't combo confirm anything except her one but one buttons hits. She needs buff bad
Nitara fatal blow is bad in competitive fight, harder to land with someone who moving a lot. Her fatal blow is best when your opponent decides to jump attack you, you get them on air.
pair her with Sonya who gives you more max hp, and her square wave is an amazing air extender, and her charged up onion rings can cover for blood pact setups... covers basically everything for Nitara.
Her voice acting is a 300 damage combo by itself
Body hits for 400.
I came back to this video and ended up getting a 47% (3 bars) after seeing some of the combo options I didn't see by myself

Lowest health in the game, but compensated a bit by stealing health from opponent. Don't think any other character can replenish their health at all.
At cost of meter and only if u combo right away. Without meter nitara is useless

Nitara does high damage but her normals and specials aren't great
This whole game needs more attention, I’ve noticed so many bugs playing this, like at the end of towers 6/10 times it doesn’t show me my score card.
Nitara is super duper fun and my favorite character in this game but she’s lacking.
She’s super unsafe if you know where her openings are. Her main combo starter is an unsafe string and she has 0 mix, just mostly overheads and highs.
Not to mention her only projectile is slow and can only be used after blood sacrifice and she’s just an incredibly punishable character.
This is all on top of being perhaps the most meter hungry character since her method of mixing you is utilizing her air dash creatively but it’s incredibly limited and requires bar after attacks like B2

All the stuff she wants to do for pressure costs meter and she’s not a character that builds bar well on her own.
It happens too often where I’m being very conservative with my resources and still end up having less meter than the opponent ( not using armored wake-ups , going for meterless punishes mostly )
yet we see characters like baraka, raiden, scorpion,etc burning bars like crazy and always have a breaker available when u land a hit.
I’m not shitting you, i can land first hit bonus with Nitara and seconds after my opponent already built more bar than me😂
Would not mind all the gaps in her strings or the stubby normals if her air cancels off the buttons did not cost a bar
