Hi there, Love your video's, They're very educational 👍😎 Would this type of graft work if a long thin branch from another tree of the same species was used? 🤔
It depends on the situation, I think on Azalea it will work really well, while on Juniper it might fail more frequently is my guess(because of slow growth), you have to try it and improve your success rate over the years I think. Basically you can graft on any plant. It works the best on plants, that repair wounds quickly. I think on Junpiers you have better chance when using the drill method, and drill a hole thru the trunk, and lead a branch thru it until the branch thickens up and fills the hole.
@@bonsai-shinshi Sorry but i don t understand what do you mean by "we don t have to contact them"? I try to find the safest grafting technique to change foliage on Juniper Prostata stock to Shimpaku foliage.
nomatosan, don't you have to match up the cambium layer from the branch to the trunk? also, couldn't you use a thread graft, where you drill thru the trunk and thread the branch to the side you want the branch come out? Nice looking trees you have, of course:-) .Steve.

Saludos.
Amazing and delicate way. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Muy buena idea lo de las chinchetas.
Another technique learned. will try this on a small maple.
Congratulations for your work. I would like to know about what material is used for the easy fixing. Thank you

Will the branch look natural??

You need to attached the branch without cutting it. Only after the graft takes then cut off the branch.

You can do the same with the branches of another tree.
@@bonsai-shinshi Many thanks for your reply 👍🙂
That's nice!! What's that material which one you using for "plastering" branch to hole??? Please
Thank you for your video its really helpful, how long does it take to graft
Many thanks for these precious video in term of learning the Art of Bonsai. Can we also adapt this branch grafting technique for juniper and azalea ?
It depends on the situation, I think on Azalea it will work really well, while on Juniper it might fail more frequently is my guess(because of slow growth), you have to try it and improve your success rate over the years I think. Juniper can take a branch from anywhere.
You don't have to contact them.

Where do I buy those thumb tacks ? Is that what they are even called ?
Really Good idea!! What kind of nail or staple do you use for that ? Thank you and very nice looking maples you got there !!👍👍
thumbtackですよ。
Thank you very much !!😁
Top, parabéns.
Super👍
Really nice.
Do you put the Thumbtack thru the branch (to make it bleed) or just on the trunk ?
If I see it correctly, he places it next to the branch not through.
exactly. I saw some other videos like this.
Amazing👍
Nice hammer

The method of making a hole can scratch the other side.
Japanese maple can only be done in February.

It does. Eisei-en bonsai mentions it often in his videos.
