Quaresma had just as much skill as Ronaldo when they were young and they both usually destroyed defenders easy peazy, and they were both seen as future stars. Sad that only Ronaldo made it big on football when a simple eye test could tell you that Quaresma had enough ball control, drible and magic to be the best in the world also. Great video Thanks keep up the good work
What some folks don't get, is the show boating stuff, its not always about showing off, in fact most of the time its just distraction, especially if you are playing someone you have not played before. It's also about timing, doing a move you know really well to time your initial move, to beat the defender with. If you can surprise someone with what the ball suddenly does, it can be enough to put them on the back foot and they are far more likely to give you an opening. Also pacing maybe you want to keep the defender moving because they are tired. When he does that type of control or a little move before the defender engages, he knows where the ball will end up , so he knows where he wants to move that when it lands or where it appears in a nice position in front of him. So if the approaching defender is surprised his positioning might slip enough for him to create a pocket he can move the ball into. All said and done in essence its distraction. Like in boxing Show left hitting right, but more , Here's a trick I know where this lands , do you? oooh he doesn't (and if he does?) he's ready to shield or move it somewhere else. Distraction and timing, so a move may seem pointless but to him it might be something he likes to pull something else out of that , and that has a use. (this is the case for myself for sure so it may or may not mean something to someone else I am assuming he is one because of the way he uses the show boat stuff) ....or of course he migt also be showing off LMAO
The pass that you called unnecessary is a "rabona" and they do it because it allows them to disguise the pass but still hit the ball with their stronger foot.
he was brilliant at stepovers for sure, also very good with the outside of his right foot, sick crosses from the left using the outside of the boot, and that's tough to do
Brother, kicking the ball with the outside makes it turn and curve to the opposite side than a standard shot. Allows you to curve the ball like it's a lefty shot, but with the right foot
1:48 the point of that pass is to use his stronger foot. In basketball players usually play ball with both hands, so being left handed or right handed isn't as important. In football a few players have a good weak foot, but most rely on either their right foot or left foot. Plus a pass like that can be unexpected and catch the defender off guard.
He kicks with the outside of his foot right because when you kick the ball like that it’s creates a curve that can only be done with the left but with the strength of his dominant foot
Ricardo Quaresma was on a similar level if not higher to Ronaldo in real life at one point C. Ronaldo was not as amazing when he was 18 he started getting good around 20/21. He had skills and speed but he was lightweight ,got pushed off the ball easy, and usually ended up dribbling into touch. If Social media would have been a thing he would have been a Meme, no shit. I remember teasing my brother about it (He's Man U I am Liverpool, family from the north west lool) in the same way he teased me about El Hadji Diouf and at the time rightly so as both would have been meme's (although everyone knew Ronaldo would be good at some point, unlike El Hadji Diouf who spat at people lool ..that's another story). C.Ronaldo hit the Gym and bulked the fuck up,and hit the training pitch and developed crazy free kicks and speed and strength, and went from being a joke in the air to one of the best in the Air of all time, adding to what he had before that (great skill and acceleration agility and speed, both feet etc) and C.Ronaldo became a terrifying footballer. We all knew he would become good at some point, but I also remember saying to my bro when Ronaldo was about 22/23, that the way he was playing then, if he kept it up,he might be the greatest player of all time. (credit where its due) I am not sure he is the greatest player of all time, but he is in the conversation no doubt, and it's a strong case. I still would take Maradona over him and Messi but that's a whole other debate (mainly to do with the mental side of things and making other players better) lool but C.Ronaldo is up there for sure, Football Machine
If he had the discipline or even a third of the discipline CR7 has his career would have been soooo different. I hated him when he played against my team but at the end of the day we didn't call him Harry Potter for nothing... I think this year he'll do good in Vitoria de Guimaraes... and I sincerely hope he gets called to a few national games...there is nothing quite like a Quaresma cross to a CR7 header goal... hehe
Have you seen Romario play? Kicking with the tip of your foot can be great in 1vs1 against the goalkeeper. You just don’t have as much control of the shot when it’s long distance but it’s great when you want to get a quick shot off that is not telegraphed. It’s used a lot in futsal as well.
The kick in the face more disrespectful cause he played for that teams rivals (Porto) and I’m a benfica fan lol I hate this dude tbh he’s the gypsy king but he was definitely talented
He kicks it like that because he might be right footed and that’s the only way he can make it curve that way. Or some player feel more comfortable doing it that way.
Quaresma is older than Ronaldo and more talented but many teams never saw his potential and loaned him all the time plus he was cut from the national team because he was immature when he was young
Quaresma is a beast he is 37 and is still a beast!
Facts 💯
He is one of those players that goes underrated
He's 37?!

That shot with the outside of his foot is his signature kick, btw in Portugal he call him Rei da Trivela(Trivela-outside foot shot/Rei-king)
5:20 its called the Rabona

He just didn’t put enough effort
@@Ludiamike agreed he lacked the mentality to do it, and he was unlucky with injuries at Barca, Inter and Chelsea
the kick with the outsife of your foot is called trivela. Quaresma is a master of it and everyone think of that when they are thinking about quaresma
Hahaha nice video dude, btw Quaresma still playing in a good level, he's my favorite player ever, cause he plays for the fans.
Yes, he kicks the ball with the outside part of his foot, it's his signature shoot we call it the Trivela . No one does it like Quaresma, no one.
Dude it is not his signature shoot! It's just a technique that he does a lot nothing else
@@tiagocorreia6999 Definitely his signature shot. I’ve never seen anybody else curve the ball with a Trivela the way he used to do it consistently.
@@tilobo5417modric
7:10 that's his signature kick called Trivela
@@Matteo-pc9gt Holy fuck, the time stamp was to the trivela. don't assume things
Kicking with the outside of your foot is one of the hardest skills in soccer and his a god at it
It depends. My feet are naturally tilted inward and I find trivella easier than standard shots lol

Quaresma legend!
The one behind the leg is called a rabona, the one with the outside of his food is called a trivela. He's known for using them both a lot
I’m impressed you noticed he shooting with the outside of his foot
The pass that you called unnecessary is a "rabona" and they do it because it allows them to disguise the pass but still hit the ball with their stronger foot.
the shoot with the outside of the foot it's called "trivela" in portuguese

I love shooting with trivella. And bro the soccer ball hurts more than a volley ball but less than a basket ball
Outside foot kick is called trivela
he kicks it with the outside of the foot to curve the ball

And in futbal that’s the first thing you need to learn. Never kick it with your tip of the foot. That’s how someone who doesn’t know kicks.
He’s not kicking with the top he’s kicking with the outside of his foot
