Thanks
@TheStyleOG What is the rule to wearing an undershirt?
Recently I had to attend a job training. There were 25 females and 3 other males in the room. I was the only one well dressed and needless to say the females could not help but to keep eyeballing me to the point they just stared at me without even noticing it. Long story short, Dress Well My Friends!
Good job!! Great example
Tell em!
I wore a linen button up shirt, navy blue field jacket and light blue chinos. All of that is fairly casual albeit a little bit dressed up. A co-worker had that classic double take head shake and I noticed she couldn't stop smiling the whole time I was talking to her. It's funny because she asked me months ago "I wonder what you dress like outside of work" to which I answered "Well." Now she knows. Dressing well does something, chaps. People who know you compliment you. People who don't, depending on the culture, stare or at least give you a "Sir."
Well said bro!
The best way to get a women’s attention is to be yourself! You don’t have to dress well everyday for that
Way back in the day, everyone dressed well. All women used to wear dresses. I love women in dresses!
Well said! My best dressed day will not be in a casket!
Ha!
I’m from The Bronx New York now living in SC. Every time I walk out my door I’m dress like I have a roof over my and educated. I’m 63 years old and look how these guys dress down and all I can do is SMH. Looks like they have no clue how to use an iron or taking your clothes to the dry cleaners. I get much respect from all the ladies young and old. Jeff you are so correct, when you dress correctly the opposite sex will notice you 1st. Great video my Brother ✊🏾👍🏾👊🏾
I wear a suit to work a few times every month and even though my coworkers have seen me dress as such for past few years I still appreciate the compliments. “Dress the part to be the part”😎
💯
Well said!
For a lot of guys, Casual attire = casual attitude. Don't give in. Take your own professionalism and work seriously.
You nailed it Jeff. Salute!
I’m very old school so this is brilliant!!! This is something this generation can’t grasp or understand. People judge you within 10 seconds of meeting you. Appearance is everything in a professional and business environment. Your credibility and the respect you receive is at stake indeed. 💯💯💯
Truth!
Ernie, you only get one chance to make a good first impression. Phil.
@@phillipj.moodie3077 you are absolutely right bro.
My previous job in automotive had me in bad habits because I was bound to get dirty. Now that my most recent job is an electronics factory ~2yrs in I started wearing my good clothes, cologne, and watch. People notice and appreciate.
Let em know!
Your first two reasons alone was enough to have me hitting the "like" button on this topic. Us men should always look to be the best version of ourselves. You just never know who you're going to come across on a day to day.
Well said!
The new narrative is not to dress well, I am from the old school I always think you should look your best always. They say you will never know a millionaire by the way he dresses, he save that money not by buying clothes and looking good. Again if God have blessed you why not let others know it.
Another added bonus of dressing well is getting better service at nice restaurants. With dress codes becoming more relaxed or less enforced nowadays, restaurant staff will sometimes go out of their way to give you special/preferencial treatment if you’re well-dressed. So next time you’re out on a date or taking clients out after work, be sure to dress up!
Great point Ryan!
I disagree! I get great service no matter what I’m wearing just by being polite
@@reese85 yeah, I get what you mean. I always am polite with servers too. But dressing up sometimes will get you the little extras: a better table/booth, a customized dessert, faster refills, etc.
@@ryancascardo66 polite does all of that just find! I’m not knocking ppl for wanting to dress up do you! but we can’t act like the world is a better place when you do!
@@reese85 how you dress will impact how you are addressed. Whether you admit it or not.
This video is the truth!! When I wear a suit it almost seems like my personality changes. It makes me feel more confident and suave. I went on a date with the woman l was with it the time she could not stop staring at me. She kept saying you look good and smell good.😊😊 There is truly something to everything said in this video!!💯💯💯💯
Appreciate the feedback!
Same here. When I dress well or a suit, it's like it gets me in the character.
O.G., I totally agree with you. Men should dress well. It also makes you feel good about yourself. I’m 70 years old and don’t even look like my age. I always dress in style with my Fedora Hat and I get many compliments from majority of the women’s and some propositions. There are some men that come to me and complimented my dress style with the Fedora Hat. I love my hats! Keep up the good work my friend!
Home Run Hitter ! ........I share these with my son who is in his early twenties ...and it's good to hear the message from another OG, thanks Boss!
Love that!
I so agree with your perspective, and insist on maintaining the standards for myself and my community. If that's old school, or some other stereotype; so be it! ach pointyou've stressed here is stronger than the last! Dressing is just who I am; a mighty salute to you Style OG, please continue to teach my brother because nothing is beyond our reach when you're dressed for the moment!
Will do!
Style OG!! Always appreciate ya coming thru with the Gems💪🏿
Salute!
I been slacking on my Style OG vids. Keep it going Champ 💪🏾

Excellent video. Dressing well shows confidence.. It's an attractive quality to have.. Your videos have enhanced my style, grooming, and mental abilities.. You make wise content, and I appreciate you, brother. Thanks again, Jeff. Salute.
My brother you kept it 100, very nice content.
As usual Jeff, you are preaching gold. 👍
Always dress well! Great video
Well said brother Jeff well said..SALUTE!!!!!!
Preach it my brother 👊🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Yes Sir!
Thank big Bro, it's been a minute...Greetings from the UK
O.G. You have been mentored me. Thanks for the wisdom! My style has definitely went to the next level
My pleasure!
Hey Jeff .. I'd like to know your opinion on Banana Republic Men's Linen Collection. Was wondering if you could pick a few and do a look book on them. I'm starting to dig the whole BR style recently. Peace!
Nowadays, a man needs to dress more for themselves as opposed to others and setting positive impressions.
In the UK, people don't really care if you dress well if it doesn't concern them or their interests.
I love dressing up well, however I've noticed only in the professional environment and when I'm abroad do people care more as British menswear has high expectations.
For the recent weddings I've attended, people don't really care as we only see them for a few hours at the reception before everyone goes on their own way.
Bottom line - dress for yourself and observe the social situations it earns you extra points.
@ Peter Turay Jnr. In a near whole page photograph in a Melbourne Australia newspaper, Prince Harry was wearing an immaculate navy blue suit, with a tie. The most noticeable feature in the photo waa a shine on his black dress shoes that you could "See your face in". In his recent book "Spare", it is obvious that he believes he is capable of doing more than being a Back-up for King Charles.
Just one look at the photo shows that while he dresses to represent the British Royal Family, his manner of dress and self confident approach, shows that he would be able to succeed in his own right in a Forune 500 Corporation.
A big judgement from a single photo of a young man dressed in a consevative plain suit. But "A picture is worth 1,000 words", and the young Prince Harry has style by the bucket load. Phil.
Awesome video filled with real gems about reasons dressing well pays off. PEACE AND BLESSINGS OG.
Peace!
DRESS WELL EVERYDAY GENTLEMEN! Listen to the Style O.G. Dressing well changes your life and expresses precedence! 👊🏾
maybe im egotistical, but I work a blue collar job and have been dressing well for about a year now. Ive noticed that some of the other guys at work seem to be upping it as well. ppl call me " The Doctor"
Great video sir! Salute!!!
Thanks!
I notice when I dress well/causal- I get more respect, more attention, taken seriously and people would think you're intelligent all because the way you dress and carry yourself. I stop dressing like a teenager and start improving my wardrobe-- When I went to Men warehouse and Jos Bank, sadly to say, I was the only black guy that was shopping in there, you had black men there but they were either non-American black men or black men that was working there..
Always..and don't just look good for others..have some respect for yourself. Travel, especially flying is a place unfortunately many no longer care about how they look. No need to wear a suit for air travel but at least look and yes, smell decent. Didn't know you were from Philly.. salute
Salute!
@The Style O.G: Whew! My brotha you hit this one out the park!!! Very much needed video. We live in a time where people just don't care about how they look anymore. Wearing pajamas outside, with slides or crocs is just lazy. I'm seeing this bummy trend pick up more and more and it's irritating. My parents ALWAYS dressed well and still do. I get static from brothers about the clothes I wear. For example, I like shearling coats in the winter; I was told "it looks like what a drug dealer would wear". Or they will think i spend hundreds or thousands of dollars 💸 💵 😆. This is what comes to our peoples mind when you put yourself together. I love clean shoes and clothes, it's always been a part of me, and I make sure to spread that spirit to my wife and children. Keep up the good work.
Some people prefer to dress more relaxed and comfortable based on their own personal tastes. I enjoy wearing decent jeans (not ragged or baggy), decent plain t-shirts (in warm weather) and comfortable clothes as long as they’re presentable regardless of my age that is not boorish in places where others including women are dressed the same. I do dress more modestly in finer places. There should be a happy medium where men have this option as opposed to anything being forced upon us like a dictatorship which is confining and restricting
Knocked it out the Park O.G.! Straight over the fences Sir!
Thanks!
Jeff @The Style O.G. I dress well everyday not because I have to (seems that today nobody really has to), but because I want to according to many of the reasons you stated in this video. However, it seems that dressing well doesn't make any difference in my life. In my opinion, we both know why.
So nice, I watchted it twice!😎
Every single words true. I feel good when dressing well so i dress well every day. So easy to dress up in dressed down world 👔
I agree 💯 percent OG!!!!✨👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
Appreciate the feedback!
Salute O.G. I love the video. I was wondering if you have any tips for professional menswear. The best suits or suit material to wear during the summer?
in general fresco.
Appreciate you og
I want to thank you for your channel. I am 52 and I wanted to dress more age appropriate and your channel has been helpful for my fashion upgrades. Thank you again.
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Salute Big Cuz Jeff, The style O.G. I recently recently got back into my old career, which is Mental Health Technician, i did the whole business casual thing and it worked well for one its been a while since I’ve been on my grown and sexy and i have and still am in the process of cutting weight. I have to admit it went well considering the reaction from the people in the office, however one of the down falls is the possible chance of having to restrain the patients which sucks, it’s not an everyday thing but still. I had a teacher in the program literally compliment my outfit and informed me it was too much for the job. I am pleased that I have been getting my wardrobe back on track, however could you do a video or suggest some ideas on urban wear to wear in that situation? I wear sneakers and sweat suits, however being 43 there are do and do nots. Would you be so kind to give some advice to a brother who hasn’t been away from the game for quite some time stuck in a uniform environment not really going out?
Sustained! Salute.
Salute!
Now that Im a retired 66 yr old guy I get away with dressing a lot more casual and expressive if I feel like it. But I spent 30 yrs in an environment that required business casual dress. Not saying that I never made any mistakes, but after watching a bunch of these mens style videos I have to say I pretty much had the rules down. Chinos & button down oxford shirts, polos in the summer, neutral colors, and brown leather shoes and belt was my basic uniform. No to say my shirts were always light blue, or white. Pale yellow, soft pink, and a subdued lavender look good on me, at lest according to my wife, so I alway had one or two of those colors. Throw on a blue sport coat and tie when the big boss is coming or for an important meeting. Ties were where I would go with something more colorful and attention grabbing. Just dont go too crazy and try to coordinate colors, and go with a middle of the road width if you want it to last more than a season or two. Being an undercover Deadhead, I had a nice collection of Garcias, lol. Colorful but not too outlandish, I always got compliments on my Jerry ties. If I erred it was usually fitment. I never bothered to get anything tailored except my one suit, so dept store fitment could be tricky if I wasn't very careful shopping, esp pants because my inseam is in between most standard sizes. So I admit my pants always had more break in them than what I would consider to be ideal.. But to me more break is better than too short. I think the current style of "high water britches" is a bit faddish. Likewise the current trend of super form fits. Unless you get your all you clothes tailored its too easy to go overboard and just look ridiculous.. Even if you have the build and want to show off your swole body, dont do it. Leave that to the models and movie stars, it just looks like you are trying too hard to be trendy. A bit too loose may look a little sloppy but to me its always better than too tight. I see too many guys nowadays that look like18 yr olds who've outgrown the Easter clothes their Mom got them when they were 13.
Hah! I use dressed up casual when I fly. Cleaned up casual when out about.
My brother - salute
Salute!
Great info video and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
Thank you! You too!
You welcome keep up the good work and thank you very much GOD BLESS 🙏
Can you also do a video on how to build your wardrobe while on a budget, if you have not already?
Love that white pocket square with the white shirt
OG on point as usual. It's so disappointing that The COVID era has changed how men dress. In most cases at my job I'm the only one rocking a tie. I even hate how the NBA and college basketball coaches are continuing the sweatshirt too casual trend into post-covid.
I agree to some extent. However, I don’t like men having to wear ties which are uncomfortable around their neck while women doing similar jobs can wear pants and have more freedom.
Suspected you were from Northeast ... like video OG! Great advice on a subject we all benefit

@@TheStyleOGHowever, I believe adults are still entitled to wear decent jeans, mostly plain t-shirts (in warm weather) and other comfortable clothes based on their own personal tastes in places where others including women are dressed similar regardless of age. I agree about certain attire being boorish that shouldn’t be worn. I do dress more modestly in finer settings. There needs to be a happy medium as opposed to any form of dictatorship which would be constrained and restrictive
When I walk into a store with flops shorts and shirt on I can’t find help. Versus when I get off work in my 👔 shirt and tie people come from everywhere lol sir are you ok? How can I help you? Are you finding everything ok? It’s amazing the difference.

Yo fellas we gotta get OG up to a million subs 👊🏾
When a man elevates the way he dresses with a good sense of style, fellow men will gravitate to him for advice.
Indeed!
What would you suggest to someone who is trimming down to reach their target weight? Should you wait to buy new clothes after hitting your goal?
It’s tough to get motivated to dress well when you work from home. I do try a little. It does make me feel good.
Salute Mr Style OG

Yo, North Philly stand up!
Philly Philly!
Two weeks ago I had a 5 hour layover at Chicago O"Hare. I walked through quite a few terminals to get my Fitbit steps in for the day, and kill some time. I also sat in a coffee shop/restaurant for about an hour and observed. Other than pilots, I saw two --- that's TWO nicely dressed men in that entire airport. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta faired a little better....I think, but so many guys clearly don't care. The women dressed better on average than the guys.
I see that as well
The way feminism is killing America men are done with looking nice for these fee mails

Jeff u're right it's more to life than dressing in Dickies everyday for work or avoiding them skinny jeans these young cats wearing & try to sag in. I ain't know shyt about chino pants until u put me on game. To be honest my birthday is around the corner & I need to dress more of my age & not thuggish every day. Women like to see diversity in a man's wear like fellas wanna see women with real hair in diverse style vise versa.
Keep them irons on hand fellas!! Idc if ya chillin on the couch 🛋 for the day! Or going out for a cup of Coffee ☕️! Keep them clothes pressed!!

When i was young is always remember my grandparents showing up dressed to the 9s, even for casual events. These days people dress too casually. Parents look like over grown children. What ever happened to dressing like an adult?!
I know right!
If u won't to be God dress well smell good
Who cares get money everyday then you don't have to get dress Jay z Kanye mark Zuckerberg non dress well and still got more money then you 😅😅😅😅😅😅
anybody who judges a book by its cover is an amateur.
My compliments exactly. I understand people need to dress appropriately for their job and in finer places. However, I believe people can dress casual how they want for more casual settings and recreational places
A well dressed man had better carry a pistol everyday also!!!!
Apparently, this is Not allowed here in Canada. It’s not safe to dress nicely in big cities because there’s too much neighborhoods full of poverty and violent crime and these people could be targeted and robbed. In addition, multiculturalism has increased in Canada with white Caucasian people becoming a smaller percentage because of continued mass immigration
