- Keep the cold drafts from coming in with this quick and easy-to-make draft stopper for your windows and doors. A great project for using fabric scraps both for the stopper and for the filling. Of course, you don’t have to have or use fabric scraps at all if you don’t wish to.
(and, yes, my dining room really is chartreuse green)

🎉 My neighbor has asked me make her some draft dodgers. I made one that went on both sides of the door and it did not suit her. She wants some like yours. Thank you very much, will be working on these tomorrow! Got to snip up my scrap pile, tonight😅!
that's really nice of you to make your neighbor some - and then some more ;-) Mine really work and now I've had the same ones for 4 years.
I’ve never added small scraps before, and can’t wait to try them!
they don't go down into the tube as smoothly as the rice but they work and it felt like a good use for them
Some store bought types have loops to hang the stopper. Not sure what is best material for that.
Thank you for the video 💜
The loops would have to be strong if your stopper is filled even partially with rice (heavy). I'm thinking either canvas, denim, or similar weight fabric that's cut in a rectangle, folded in on itself in thirds or fourths lengthwise, and sewn down the length to hold the layers together. That then becomes your strap that you attach into the seam of the draft stopper. I hadn't seen loops on the stoppers but I like that idea. I leave the stoppers in my windows year round to keep the wasp and stink bugs from crawling in ;-) (old house, old windows)
Excellent idea. Thanks for sharing. I have scraps to use up.Will do.
I make these all the time but your directions were so easy and I liked your tips. Also. Combining different materials makes it more interesting 👍thanks for sharing.
Combined different fabrics!!
Thanks. You must also live in a drafty house 😉. They sure make a difference.
Oh heck yeah! Just what I was looking for:) Thanks!!
Woo Hoo! I love it when I find what I need ;-)
Thank you for sharing! I'll for sure be making some of these for the coming winter, since gas prices have gone up so much. Greetings from Belgium!
I am sorry it might be extra cold for you this winter but I'm happy that I could help. Thanks for watching
@@TheDailySew we'll manage and certainly with solutions like these 😊
If you use a yardstick to turn the fabric is it is a lot easier than how she does it. You can make a funnel instead of a scoop, it works better and goes faster.
Yardstick is a great idea 🥳
I don't have a lot of scraps so I'm going to use little snippets of yarn since I'm a knitter
That’s perfect! Yarn would be a great filler
