Blackrock Depths - Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft Classic

- čas přidán 6. 08. 2024
- The largest 5 man instance in WoW Vanilla, Blackrock Depths, used to be the most raided dungeon at that time, visited not only for the gear drops, but also for materials, plans or reputation in general. It hosts the real entrance to the Molten Core raid, which can be later skipped by completing a quest called "Attunement to the Core" obtained by running almost entirely the Upper City BRD dungeon part. In terms of music, the Volcanic track by Jason Hayes remained on the top of Blizzard's preferences (like almost everywhere in the Burning Steppes, Blackrock Mountain and Searing Gorge).
Blackrock Depths (aka BRD) is the deepest part of Blackrock Mountain, ruled by the Dark Iron dwarves who were led by Emperor Dagran Thaurissan. Several minions of the Firelord Ragnaros also make their home in these lava-lined depths.
The volcanic Blackrock Depths are immense tunnels beneath Blackrock Mountain, the home of the Dark Iron dwarves, and the site of the black forge they use to smelt their namesake ore. The Dark Iron dwarves have claimed the depths under the banner of their emperor, Dagran Thaurissan. Thaurissan is the latest in a line of dwarven sorcerer-thanes to serve in the shadow of the demigod Ragnaros, foolishly summoned to Azeroth by Thaurissan's ancestors hundreds of years ago. Though the dwarves dominate Blackrock Depths, they worship and labor for Ragnaros's mighty fire elementals, who guide the already ill-tempered and maligned Dark Irons towards increasingly dangerous and apocalyptic acts.
The depths are inhabited by Dark Iron Dwarves, their demonic Bloodhound pets, their golem creations, and their fire elemental allies. There is also a contingent of Twilight's Hammer ambassadors inside the city and the detention block area. The dwarves in the Depths consist primarily of warrior and priest types with a handful of paladins.
During the Elemental Unrest, the cavern was entered by the Alliance and Horde to kill Grand Ambassador Flamelash.

Classic is definitely optimized dude lol. Ass holes just follow a guide for every step they take in the game
This place represents so much of the Vanilla spirit
The best designed dungeon in the whole game.
My mom designed it, thanks
@@AnaFonz im ur mom's bf
Still best dungeon in WoW.
@@AnaFonz no way really

I know some people don’t like how long Blackrock Depths is but I love it. It’s sad that no dungeon groups after Cataclysm came out wants to do the entire instance, everyone just wants to rush past everything at light speed. It’s an enormous dungeon with so much to do. I soloed it myself once just to see the entirety and I loved exploring every little nook and area in the Depths. The bar was especially fun to go to.
I remember soloing a lot of things with my hunter. Super fun! I stayed in the instance until I was out of arrows or became totally red :)
Thank you for coming back Jake,
Meisio
I finally soloed it during Tbc on my lock, was cool to see parts that pugs or guildies never wanted to do or didn't have time. The grim guzzler tavern somehow became the benchmark for brd with every group I wss in - either we went on for a full clear, or someone rage quit and aggroed the tavern of drunk dwarves. Many bitter gut fond memories lol
*but* not gut lol
Was a great achievement to clear it all. Just because good groups were hard to find. Your best chance was with friends / guild-mates and to communicate in advance the objectives :)
Loved getting drunk there on my rogue
BRD is the best dungeon they ever made.
For the simple reason that BRD is not just a simple, linear dungeon that you run through 3 times in 5 minutes.
Its a complete, functional society that you and your group of adventurers are breaking into, with plenty of enemies, tons of loot and a winding path through the capital of the dark iron civilisation, from the prison block through the city into the deepest recesses to their seat of power, where their king resides.
Its is the complete package, and unlike ordinary dungeons it not just flashes like a firecracker, its a whole fireworks show!
I love the piece starting at 4:10 It just give you the vibe of a mysterious and vast place that Blackrock Mountain is.
Yes, it's an "adventure awaits" piece.
Ah, BRD... the dungeon that said 'fuck you, I'm going to be an entire zone'
Hahaha :)
BRD is so amazing, nothing will ever come close to it.
Love the small awesome stuff like looking at the portrait to recognize the keeper then getting the key for some sweet loot, simply brilliant.
My longest run in Vanilla BrD was 7 hours.... we had food breaks with people I just have meet.
I remember doing a run back in the day, our tank was decked out in Naxx Gear and we completed every single quest / area of the dungeon. And finally I got my first epic here :) (Circle of Flame)
Once you had the Shadowforge Key this was a fun instance to play. It's cool to have Molten Core inside it, which makes it feel like you have to go very deep to get to the lava core underground.
It was indeed extremely immersive. I remember at that point I did not know the reason why the dark iron dwarves are hostile. But I played along anyway :)
Such a fantastic immersive dungeon. I remember first doing this with a small guild I was in and being so freakin lost. I was like how does anyone know where to go. This was probably back in late 2005 so it was still pretty much figure it out as you go.
Amazing video as always. Men choir always reminded me of LOTR Mordor soundtrack. ;) nice refference
I did not make the connection. But now I am listening to the entire LOTR soundtrack :)
Thank you for the visit Patrick!
Funny how blizzard was like, "we have this huge and expansive universe with multiple planets and revamped zones. Lets put 7 raids and dungeons on a single mountain though...."
I have a lot of fun memories regarding BRD instance, never seen a problem that it is too long (usually taking more than 3-4 hours, and often in the position of finishing it with 4 men), but damn I hated the "prison runs", usually because some players were there only about that quest (later they were leaving of course). I used to love the "Bartender runs" and everything about The Grim Guzzler. Like all the taverns with dwarves, it has something magical.
Do you like the video? Please give it a thumbs up and share it. It helps me a lot on my work. Also, please consider watching other videos from me. Thank you.
P.S.: Thank you _axzze_ and _mycodermos_ for the request. Like always, late, but better late than never, right? :)

BRD is one of those dungeons that makes me think that Vanilla is going to be way harder for me to get through (on an official or unofficial server) now that I have a job. There's no way I'll get BRD done on a weekday!
Both happy and sad for you Nicolas! Weekend should be then :)
Thank you for coming back! ❤
Meisio patron list is not complete ?
Hi Gil,
Yes, I am adding the current Patreon list for each new movie. I can't update it every time something changes for around 250 videos unfortunatelly... So yes, the new videos reflect the Patreon situation.
Salutations :)
Meisio I have only just noticed that it’s an older video. :)
Best dungeon in history of gaming
I love the Grim Guzzler song
Thank you so much Meisio for all these videos! Nostalgia is hitting me back hard! I played WoW since the EU beta back in 2004 and I quit a few weeks after hitting lvl 70 in TBC. The WoW I used to love and spend too much time on it changed for me at that time! I remember killing countless times Lord Incendius in BRD to farm LBS on my NE druid back in 2005-2006. These days I'm listening and watching all your videos while working from home =) Thank you again!
I used to scourge the BRD for hours, would buy thousands of arrows and have several sets in case my stuff would be wiped red. Killing the boss saveing the hostage daughter was quite an achievement also. The king of Ironforge could be quite grateful.
grown to love this place, reminds me of the mines of moria 🥶
Say what you want about the state of WoW, game wise as expansions come and go. You have to give it up to the creative teams who create the environments and zones, and of course the music. Epic, just epic. And thank you Meisio, for all of your wonderful WoW Music & Ambience compilations. So many feels and nostalgia for the game I've loved for almost 15 years. : )
Earlier today I was searching your videoes for a BRD video, and only hours later you upload one.. spooky. Dark Iron Dwarves are going to be so very cool - can't wait!
Just a coincidence. :)
It's most likely BRD / Blackrock Mountain will not be the same anymore in BfA and this video hopefully will remind players of the old days. Azeroth is changing! :)
Thank you for coming back,
Meisio
I long for an MMO with as much attention to detail and grand scope as vanilla WoW.
I always thought the music was so epic which was along with the run
I still remember my first invite to this dungeon, when I was level 57 in March 2005 , there were no healers, only 1 dps (level 60 mage) and 2 power tanks (2 warriors, other was level 60), I was impressed how a 5 man dungeon was able to be beaten by 3 people without a healer.
After they gear up, warriors are overpowered. I remember doing Stratholme with a healer who was dps-ing because our warriors were not taking any damage.
Thank you for your visit :-)
Thanks meisio, I loved this instance, so many questlines through here, entrance to MC + attunement, lots of pvp in the vicinity, great bosses and loot all over the place and tough aoe pulls w/pats. BRD really brings me back :) I think I've listened through and watched all your wow vids now, thanks so much for all the hard work you've put into them, you are appreciated!
Thank you. I still have a lot to learn & create. Hopefully I will have the time to do it :)
Meisio is the best ♡ Blackrock ftw! :D
Thank you, doing my best, struggling to get back to my regular program. Salutations Khaz and welcome back :)
The funny thing is this is 1 hour, where you could spend SEVERAL consecutive hours in BRD with this music burned into your brain.
I hope you are not complaining. For me it was useful time wasted :-)
Cheers! :-D
Not at all I really appreciate your channel Meisio.
Though I never played vanilla, this, Stratholme and Scholomance hold a special place in my memory. I remember visiting the old dungeons on my 80 mage during WotLK to get to know the stories and farm the baron mount. Needless to say I got my ass handed to me by Thaurissan and his 10 sec spell immunity 😂. Good times :')
For me this is the best 5 man instance of WoW, period. It was a serious quest back in a day if you wanted a full clear with no kick ass group of epic people.
One of the best for me too! It was quite an adventure. Jail break, MC attunement, the iron dwarves encounters...
@@Meisio Yep, adventure is the right word. :)
This I'm my quintessential memory from vinilla.
At some point everything was done here, so I agree, it is quite representative for Vanilla.
Thank you again for your visit :)
Im glad i relived this the way it was supposed to be about a week ago. I really didnt know the ambience and music until when I started running this when i hit 54. Gives you a super creepy vibe. Definitely blackrock mountain are some of the best spots next to gnomeregan and mara 😄 jk about gnomer and mara. BRM exceeds that.
Hail to the king, baby!
I just finished the story in the searing gorge and burning step after leaving there with my darkiron paladin. I play this in the background when playing that character.
Love your videos.
Thank you. Are you a fan of WoW Classic? :) Or you love the other expansions as well? Getting a little bit of insights here.
Salutations!
I started playing WoW during 3.0.1 and stopped playing mid Cataclysm. Sadly, I never had the chance to experience true WoW Classic, but the classic zones and dungeons were (and still are) my favourite. The changes Blizzard made in Cataclysm to classic content ruined the game for me, but even during WoTLK it started to change for the worse (for example, the dungeon finder in 3.3.0 turned dungeons from adventures into chores). Now I'm waiting for Blizzard to release WoW Classic, to experience it in its full glory. Maybe it's naive to expect that, but I have a feeling that I will really enjoy playing it.
I discovered your channel looking for Vanilla content specifically. Both ASMR gameplay videos and music videos are excellent. The gameplay videos simultaneously bring back good memories and give me something to look forward to. The music videos are a great background for work, I'm listening to them all day long. And the camerawork is very good, I enjoy looking at all the familiar places.
Hi Vladislav,
You started playing WoW in it's golden age, it was really good back then. I am comparing it with Vanilla.
I think we will have a blast in Vanilla. It will be a different experience for sure (at least for me because I don't have my youth nativity anymore) but we will enjoy nonetheless.
Thank you for your feedback, I am going to continue the classic content movies to keep the hope alive.
Salutations, was really a pleasure to _meet_ you :)
I love the evil feeling of blackrock that was built by the dark iron dwarf clan and you really feel the entire brd and ubrs lbrs dwarf architecture sadly that the spire was heavily damaged by the orcs and dragons but it was all built by dark irons I would have loved to see the layout not destroyed
oh you saved my ass in the office today)) your new videos are almost a celebration for me, dude) but i belive that in classic wow dwarves in the beginning of the dungeon were not equiped with glowing maces, they came later in TBC (merciless gladiator weapons and blue two-handed mace from Shattered Halls). Dwarves used to have usual vanilla weapon, though it doesnt matter much really. Gonna go enjoy your new work
oh yeah i got this man, tauren healing with light lol)))))
Holy cow! This is what I get from working only during the night.
Every kick in the butt is a step forward. Thank you for the feedback. I have to be more careful.
Love it - 18 minute point
Is there one like this without music?
you're great!
Thank you Baly! Welcome back! :)
very lotr like.
This music suits some amazing movie

P.S. "Blackrock Mountain" is such a beautiful place, that i would even be an eternal slave over there, digging the fu..ing wall but, enjoying this music for ever!
This music makes me feel like Vader while crushing my enemies.
me ayuda a estudiar, gracias
The soundtrack gives me chills... It is really calm and relaxing, but I feel a dark vibration in it :> Still, I love it. Only eight days of school and i'm free for almost three months, can't wait for summer break! How are you doing?
Hey, you changed your picture and the name a little bit. Looks really good! :)
I hope the exams are going good!? Happy for your long break! :) Can't say the same for me. My life got really busy lately, but I will survive _(playing Diana Ross' song)_ It's just too bad that I am busy because I have a lot of plans for this channel. I hope you guys are patient :)
❤ Ymir
Meisio We will wait! I hope you get some free time too! :> I usually dislike this period of the year because of the exams, but they are fine this time and i have only one and i'm finally done! And yep this is the first time i changed that photo ^^
Real picture, no? :D Ha ha :)
Good luck with your last exam!
thunderbluff music on brd?
hi, is there any way to download this sounds?:)
Hello ! I love your 360 videos but, can you do a 360 video of Silvermoon ? Or Eversong ? I need So much ! :)
Hey Lukáš,
The only way I can make a 360 video is to be static (not moving around in the place). My biggest 360 movie was about Westfall ( czcams.com/video/x3nTBcjlYrw/video.html ) and it was a series of 15 sets of recordings which resulted in couple of days of working non-stop. I have no problem with that, however, this kind of movie did not really appeal to a greater audience unfortunately and I've decided to stop.
I liked the concept and I still don't know why others don't, but for the sake of the channel I wanted to cover more zones in a _traditional_ matter. If you look at my _competitors,_ they are putting 1 image and adding the soundtrack and they have infinite times more views than my channel does... Maybe I will consider it again after some time... Sorry for saying _no_ for now :(
I hope you understand.
Kind regards,
Meisio
@@Meisio Did you delete the video, can not open that link..
Hi Unal. No I didn't. Just the ( ) symbols got into the hyperlink. Corrected them now, I've added spaces.
I love and hate this place in the same time lol. But anyway, this music .... insane. Still chills

Hey all, Ive been looking for just the grim guzzler song. Anyone know what its called or a link to the song?
further research i realized its just the alliance tavern music :D For anyone else also searching for it.
With classic now out, I'm gonna most likely spending hours in this place with the guild ^^
They did an acoustic version of the part at 21 min in hearthstone called Blackrock mountain battle 2
Man blizzard , classic when wth?
A rhetoric question I see... :D

The vanila music and art direction were so much better. Mood pieces work great here. Now they just want to do generic orchestral music which is completely unmemmorable.
que le pasa a la voz del colega que explica el juego? intenta poner voz de hombre rudo y que te mataria solo con la mirada, pero el tono de su voz es el de un gamer friki que no mataria ni a una mosca,xD
i wish i lived there. i hate this fuckin planet.
Hey Beyonder. I used to have these kind of feelings as well. I hope you are well.
The hard truth is, nothing is perfect. We just have to find happiness in every little thing, live a simple but meaningful life, far away from stress and dedicate ourselves to things which can make ourselves better.
I hope my videos are helping a little. Hang in there...
@@Meisio they are! you the man.
@@Meisio do you have a discord. are you gearing up to do anything community-wise when Classic comes out?
