Petko I have been watching your videos since you were in your apartment with your pets (tarantulas) were on a small shelving unit and you were sitting on your sofa vlogging about the tarantulas. WOW! Have you come a long way. CONGRATULATIONS on your success. Keep on vlogging and enjoy the new (est) Dark Den. Never would I ever have thought I would watch someone vlogging about spiders and enjoy doing watching lol. Thank you for changing my thoughts about spiders.

@The Dark Den, If you want to reduce your reflections, regarding the enclosure shelves.
1. Buy thin acrylic glas (2mm is enough) that is as long and wide as your shelves.
2. Buy frosted window screen.
3. Apply window screen to each acrylic glas sheet.
4. Buy tooth picks. Paint black.
5. Drill small holes for toothpicks, in level with the shelf bracers.
6. The Toothpicks will serve as support for the 'shelves'. Place the frosted side on the LED side.
This will disperse the light and soften it. It will reduce the reflections significantly. It might also cause your enclosures to have more even light dispersal too.

7:32 I'm sorry Petko but this is so funny!!! I think it is because I can absolutely see myself in your behavior and annoyances with the reflection... IDK if this helps but I think The Dark Den looks amazing, your always going to see the things that stand out and bother you personally. But we -well let me speak for myself... I am not here to complain about reflections I am here for You and the DD critters, feedings, hubba hubba times, and to see how everyone is doing. And love what your doing with the place.
Man I hope with further expansions and more additions to the dark den petko starts uploading twice a week! I am always waiting for Monday to get the update lmao😂 it would be nice to have it on mondays and fridays or something like that! It would be awesome to see more feeding and usual upkeep like new enclosures and maybe more sling action! Every one of us would love to see more of that I’m sure!

First i was not sure that rearranging was going to be a good idea cause i initially thought already the glasses next to the big terrarium would only increase the reflection effects which you found out late, but glad to see in the end it turned out still even better.. i completely agree it gives us viewers a lot better preception of your room also being able to see the lots of terrariums behind you always now when you record here. *thumbs up*
I miss the first dark den so much when I first started watching me n my husband would watch at night before bed way back then so feels good seeing ur couch back in the den

New Year, New Den! Sometimes it's just nice to get a refresh.
I would suggest that any hole big enough to fit all those cables will also allow for some entertaining sling escapes.
You could always try and lift some more stuff off the table and to the wall.
Or just make sure that everything that stays on the table can stay there when you have to quickly move the table to reach some escapee ;)
I actually plan tu use rubber plug that you pull cables through. That way there are no holes for slings to squeeze xD
The only arachnid I have is a scorpion, but I love this channel- your production value is great, so I think the comments you read about worrying too much over sound/lighting are true... Then again, the production might be great BECAUSE you worry about it 🤣
But whatever you're doing is perfect as is lol. This is probably my favorite "creature" content channel on CZcams.

Enclosures on the left can swap with the right as they are slightly dimmer with the plants inside. And maybe have less glare.

7:02 not really noticeable and I think your hope about the final junglarium lighting helping is right. But I wonder if it's possible to switch the shelves around, having the "greener" enclosures closer to the junglarium? Also have you tried dimmers on your shelving lighting setups? I've got dimmers on mine, allows me to dial it down before going to sleep (turns off on a timer early evening) so that when it turns on in the morning it doesn't startle my critters (or plants, cos I treat my cared for flora with "plants have feelings too!") You could then adjust the lighting down a bit when shooting video.
Just a thought, if it bothers you, but like many of us say it isn't noticeable. 😊

Instead of moving things around to get rid of reflections, get a polarizing filter for your camera lens :) they're amazing and I use them a lot in my photography.

Nicely done, Petko! But if you swap the enclosures without plants to the right side with the enclosures with plants, the reflections on the junglearium should be less of a problem! :)

Great work mate! Loving the new Dark Den every step in the way you're always improving a lot. For the acoustic, not that i feel it is needed, but i think a carpet would make a big difference covering the last "uncovered" surface.
a piece of carpet on top of the existing floor that you can move around is called a rug :D

You should mount that light above you on the bar. I'd keep it around for those close-up videos where you need some more light on an enclosure.

Ever heard of polirizer filters? Might have been an option and otherwise it might be possible to add a anti glare coating to the glass although that might be expensive
I would love to see a new molting progression board be started with some of your baby sling going into adults

Your beautiful junglelarium is also much more visible now, since you were partially blocking it before when you were mostly standing behind the desk
Add a small strip of tint film to the front of the enclosures and it should remove that reflection. Looks like it's reflecting off of the top or front glass of them.

the acoustic ceiling foam will also help with the humidity control, as will the carpet. I do production and music so yeah, you're on the absolute right track all around! Also wearing the lapel mic greatly improved the sound quality. Great work as always, happy new year!!

I know you done it all now, but at the start you could have used some Museum glass in the big jungle setup, Museum glass doesn't reflect light like normal glass does

I would suggest if you are concerned about the lighting reflections, you could potentially use lighting grids to give direction to the light

add a courtain as a door. it'll add some privacy, improve acustics and also it's easy to open and close lol
