#hitthetone - Hudba
This was a good one. How about Pride and Joy by SRV?
Iconic sound you captured. Kudos. FYI: "back in the day", when bands were getting sick and tired of each other, they would take a break and go off and do a solo project. Both Keith and Mick did just that. Both produced two truly great, but very different albums. Keith's cover track "Eileen" is still one of my absolute favorites. Mick produced some truly good and for him, original lyrical and melodic work in his Solo album. He was asked why he didn't write more songs like that for the "Stones". He said "I do." Then he added "... but when I give them to Keith... it comes back Rock and Roll!". (Something like that?). Cracks me up even today thinking about it. I totally get it!
Guillome,
Terrific show. Can't go wrong with anything recorded from the Stones. Very simple style from Keith Richards. Well done again.
Thank you so much Joseph! :)//G
I own that exact same Squier Tele model. It's a killer guitar, especially for how affordable it is!
Thank you so much for your vid. I’m basically an intermediate beginner at the electric guitar. Looking at the span of things to play to keep the motivation up to get through the early hard work of learning the basics before much tangible sound comes out, i like many others am looking to adding a few riffs and then i fell on your great vid. I was happy that you went over the type of pedal that brings the sound, other than the guitar and amp. Your vid made it into my favorites. Good job man ✌🏼
2:09 It is! It’s called the “Broadcaster Blend Wiring”. Feel free to google it if you’re interested.
As a simple description of the circuit, taken from Premier Guitar:
“Bridge pickup with blend option engaged to allow the neck pickup to be added with no tone control. (Bridge on the pickup selector)
Neck pickup alone with the blend option disabled and no tone control. (Middle on the selector)
Neck pickup alone with 0.05 μF tone cap engaged and blend option disabled. (Neck on the selector)”
Keith has used more effects than people say. I dont get how people pass up on the Phase 100 and the big box MXR Analog Delay. Crucial to the 78-81 hits and albums. Plus the solid state Vox amps he used had all kinds of effects built in. The fuzz on Satisfaction is one of the least impressive pedal tones he got. If you know how he got the amazing slapback on say "She's So Cold" please share. Or the killer phase on "Shattered" those records have some of the best tones they got.
Being an IT guy I remember learning this after it was used as the music for the windows 98se adverts
Because Microsoft we’re pushing the concept of the “ START” button
I’m old and a lot sad....
I think
Good job Guillaume that tone is spot on !
I now want that tele !!! Please !! 😁
OMG that sounds amazing!!
Like with this song Ronnie stayed in standard tuning on most tunes , adding more flavor and thickness to so many songs.
Should I have sung about tone socks instead bro? Tone socks... the secret to rock ...
@@boomerbassmeme damnit mang this is why magicians don’t talk to you anymore BBM!
That album in the back😍😍😍...make al the songs from it🤩
His tele used Broadcaster wiring so the tone knob was actually a blend knob for the neck pick up. So his tone was generally Tele bridge with a bit of the neck humbucker to thicken it up.
I don't think the 80's Stones would quite be considered early Stones. Maybe mid Stones 1980-2000.
Nice guitar 🎸👌🏾
Thank you!
Super ! Merci👍🏼🍒
The first position a blend of the two pickups. I have my Keef set up like that.
If you’re a guitar player,
buy an alternate tunings book with examples if you want to understand and reap the additional benefits of non standard tuning, especially for acoustic guitar playing, and yes
you can use a capo in
any tuning .
A capo is actually for people who know what they’re doing, contrary to ‘popular’ belief..
Thanks🤘
Guillaume practicing Mick Jaggers peacock strut before the cameras were rolling...
We all now that the Rolling Stones are gods so I'll take a moment to appreciate how slick Guillaume looks in all black outfit with all black Tele
I wonder if it will be relevant in future :v
Also, to whoever edited in that "hitting a ping pong" sound in 5:27 I watched this fragment six times to see if I'm crazy, thx a lot
Oh, and I was going to complain about retuning my guitar for one song but luckily a friend left me his guitar for the setup and he only plays open G
Awwww youuuu 🤗 thanks Artur!//G
Muito bom 🙋♂️
Have you guys highlighted Chris Squire of Yes? The greatest bass player of all.
Good catch on the weird wiring.... Keith's Micawber had a humbucker on the neck which was wired the other way around.
The humbucker was placed upside-down, on accident, and he left it there.
The "Gear used" link links to a different guitar than the one you are playing.
Please make an episode of a green day song. Maybe American Idiot or Basket Case :)
Thanks that's a great idea! :) //G
What brand/model of mic is being used to record the guitar again?
It’s still hollow sounding compared to the album. It must be hard to achieve?
Now, how about something from Rory Gallagher? Big Guns? Shadow Play?
3:24 no man ...the EQ is just untouched :) what???
Sorry, but to me Keith sounds more like: a) Neck pickup only, and b) no spring reverb but some sort of heavy ROOM delay, which can only obtained from a REAL ROOM or a DIGITAL DEVICE.
I have yet to hear anyone capture the tone of Start Me Up correctly. Oh, open G, and this chord shape... really? Then why does it still not sound right?
Please every breath you take by the police!!!!!
It's planned for the next shoot 🙌😁//G
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses ouh thanks guys! I’ve been waiting for this for so long! You’re the best!
En français, s'il vous plait. Il y a déjà, en quantités, de l'anglais. Merci.
Like Elvis said...a little less conversation, a little more action please..
Nice try - Keith has that brittle punch - with more mid I think - you get close to but no cigar
(sings along) Tele Guy...Guil needs to lose the Strat...Tele Guy...Tele is where it's at 🤣
😂😂😂 that is one good song! I'll see if I can sing along soon 😁//G
