Vladdy was my favorite Red Wing of that era. He could score, but his forte was defensive open ice checking. Nobody could line em up like Vladdie! In the 96-97 Stanley Cup winning season, he was +60 as a defenseman. He was amazing. I am still pissed about the accident and what happened to him.
He never gave a dirty hit he didn't have to and never tried to hurt someone just because he could unlike Scot Stevens he was one of the greatest defense players of all time
Vladinator??.. never heard that one he did, however, have the best nickname I've ever heard... Vlad the impaler.

Володя начинал играть как нападающий. Потом в защитники ушел. Так, что навыки по голам у него есть, особенно видно, когда один на одни с вратарём соперника остается.
