In terms of value.. lets pretend this mega uncommon ends up like other mega uncommons: Mega Chameleon = 0.38, Mega Uncommon = 0.04 (for a good one, could be lower - mega uncommon pet egg/retired egg is 0.01 or 0.02). So you gave your fan a 10x value trade! For the content!
M dire = 0.20 - 0.25 range. M brachio = 0.02 or 0.03ish, So lets call it another 10x win for the content!
M royal spaniel is 0.25 - 0.35 depend on the website's opinion. I think the pet is awful, so I'll use 0.25 for spaniel. A rare mega can be 0.04 up to 0.12 depending how good/hard to find it is (not including super rare stuff like cow obviously, talking recently released type stuff). So this trade is your first 3x overpay (i'll say M rare dino gets a current value of 0.08 for new factor). Big improvement over previous 10x overpays :)
Elasmosaurus I think will hold it's value well. Lets call it a 0.15 value mega ultra rare. You gave a 0.35 value mega squid :) A 2.3x win for your friend, and good content!

Also, the trade with simple was the most fair trade you had today. You gave up about 0.9 and got 0.6 - 0.7 (like a mega lava dragon or a mega midnight) range pet. Due to the absolute newness of the fossil legendary and how much effort goes in to making a mega within 24 hours of the release of the event.. i'm going to say you got a fair trade.
If you were not going for content and could wait a month to get the pet, you'd get it for 0.4 - 0.5 (rough guess where it ends up). But trying to get it within 24 hours of release, absolutely i can see your 0.9 being a fair offer (you might have still over paid a little, but considering your other 4 trades, this one is the closest to fair you got) :).
