- New Mexico holds some of the coolest ancient ruins, and we knew we had to explore them before heading out of the state. We started with climbing ladders into Pueblo ruins at Bandelier and ended with entering a multitude of doorways at Chaco Canyon’s Pueblo Bonito. Needless to say, we were blown away by how well the ruins have been kept up, especially with the harsh desert climate.

Omg the picture of the horses was beautiful, especially with that breathtaking background
I know right! Those horses were SO majestic.
Okay that beauty and the beast joke starting at 12:58 was spot on 🤣 I laughed out loud
Just found you!! Very impressed!! Your on my list of favorite travel vlogs!! Now I’m going to binge watch all your shows..
Dinner looks absolutely delicious. Wish I was there to share. Yum!
I love your cooking and hanging around the van videos. Drive safe.
You guys inspired me with your conversion video. I thought van life was a distant dream for me, that maybe in 20 years I could buy a 1999 van to convert but you two showed me it's possible NOW. My boyfriend and I just bought our 2012 Ford Transit Connect and we can't wait to start this adventure 💕 Thank you guys 🖤
Wowowowoow we are SO excited for you!!!! Your words mean the world to us. It is in NO way easy living in this tiny thing, but it is completely worth every second of it when it’s all said and done. Feel free to reach out anytime with questions! We are SO excited for you guys!! 😁😁
Claire, I’m so impressed with your cooking skills. The best I’ve seen with van life vlogs!!
i agree!
Wow! That means A LOT! Thank you so so much- still learning as I go, but so happy I get to share my love for cooking with a little audience 😁😁😁
What a time you two had all to yourselves! Worth the cold, I would imagine. Those ruins will definitely be on my list of places to see. Thank you! May have to go at the same time of year 😊. Of course, I am thrilled to see how well you guys eat - staying healthy!!! Kudos to you, Claire, and to Chad, the sous chef. Now one to your next vlog...
We are so overjoyed you enjoy watching our travels. You will absolutely love the ruins! It’s a very special place. Gotta eat good in the tiny van or else it’s just sad! 🍽😁
@@ChadandClaire I loved the remark, "or else it's just sad". Never sad with you guys! Received my macrame and stickers today! The macrame is so lovely and the stickers so cool!!!
This was fantastic--was just at Bandelier (I live in Albuquerque) in May. I'm not able to climb the ladders, etc. so I really appreciated seeing inside. Haven't been to Chaco canyon but have a trip planned. Your cooking skills impress me--you both eat so healthy. Back in my misspent youth, I was eating fluffer nutter sandwiches almost every day. Keep posting, so much enjoy your unjadded take.
Thanks for watching Jay! We are glad you are enjoying our videos. Not gonna lie we’ve never tried a fluffed nutter sandwich and now we really want to!!
@@ChadandClaire OH NOOOOOO. It's okay, eat them for a dessert. It's not lunch, well or shouldn't be. Your mother would killllll me. :D
Awesome information.
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing. This video is wonderful. Still, you could slow yourselves a bit and shar more, especially in places like this. Does it matter if you do not keep traveling so fast?
Lovely video! Cool history!
Thanks for watching! We are so glad you enjoyed.
Very cool! The caves and ruins were so amazing. Great drone footage too. How is the transit doing on dirt roads? Just curious because thats the van type that Im thinking of buying too. What are you doing for heat? I saw a guy with a minivan conversion say that your engine is the best generator and can be used to idle and heat your vehicle safely for hours...what are your thoughts on that? In retrospect would you have installed a heater like so many are doing after the build also. Thanks for the sharing your adventures!! 🏜👍🙌
Transit has been handling the dirt roads just fine! As for heat we currently don’t have anything and we don’t regret not having a heater because we are trying to follow good weather. As for idling we’re not the biggest fan of the idea, we only idle for an hour or so if absolutely necessary.
Of course if money is not as much of an issue, a heater would be pretty great!
Ok, maybe too cold right now...but wouldn't it be cool to be able to camp out a night in the pueblo's? I think it would be a blast. Cold front from where you guys are heading east... we are supposed to see it sunday into monday. I hope it stalls a day or 2
Woah it’d be SO fun to camp in the ruins. We have avoided the snow for now because we have headed south! Crazy how much snow hit the east coast!
@@ChadandClaire yeah! It's been snowing for almost 30 hours and the weather folks say a front is holding it in this stalled pattern for possibly till 6pm tomorrow lol. Glad we have an old well built snow blower... probably close to 20" of still light powdery snow...oh well nature happens LOL
how long will you live in your van for the rest of your life ? when do you plan to buy and home and say have a brick and mortar home thanks
Hey Terry! We 100% do not plan on living in this van for the rest of our lives. So far the plan is to stop our van adventure in august and start traveling internationally if possible.
We also plan on buying a home in about 5 or so years.
Alive , real Native people still live there. It is not all about ghosts . They still have pueblos everywhere . They are not gone . This is just their old place. I live in ABQ. NM 87107 . The past is different ,than what people think.
Hey Michaela! Thank you for writing this message and informing us. We honestly had no idea and wish we had known. I agree, the past is different than what the american school system has told us. There are always more sides to a story.
