The southpaw stance right hand blocking advantage on the orthodox boxer's big right is what many do not understand. No knockout power in the left, O.K., but the right jab and hook hit's much harder . Hagler was another exponent, who was greater than him? All oriental fighting systems are ambidextrous and someday so will western styles be as well. For now, many stay in one stance only but it's more of a tradition than anything that makes scientific sense. It's an extra skill set, that I will say, but it's worth it and Crawford shows that here. Where would Mantle or Byrd be in their sport without it? Back in the pack. Like Crawford, they would be good, but not great. A lot of people do not like fighting lefty's too, and do poorly against them. It comes in handy, if you take the time to learn it.

You gotta pick up on context clues. First of all that’s the colonel not just any commentator. Second this is his 20th fight. This same announcer goes onto praise him as one of the best switch hitters ever.
Honestly I don’t see him fight orthodox much, each time he does, he does it for like 1-3 rounds and then the rest of the fight he’s just southpaw. He can do both but equally? Nah, If Crawford were magically two people, one southpaw and one orthodox version of himself, southpaw Crawford wins 10/10 times!

A lot of stupid shit said in the comments. Particularly comparing Bud to Manny and Floyd Jr. You can only speculate on those fictional match ups. Mayweather may be undefeated in the record books but he was blessed by a couple decisions. Plus he basically was a cheater, don’t get butt hurt here but he hit and held constantly. Never once did he get penalized much less warned for holding. I don’t blame him for his tactics. If the refs don’t call you on it then it’s evidently not illegal, right? It saved his ass on a few occasions when he had been rocked. He also hit on the break numerous times again no warnings given. He also dodged Pac Man for quite some time and that decision was certainly questionable. Mayweather also lacked having that one great adversary needed to ascend to real greatness. However you look at though 50-0 is impressive.
Manny is certainly worthy of praise as well. Although his record shows I believe eight losses he certainly stunned the boxing world on several occasions beating favored fighters during his career. Only eight division world champion. Lineal Champion in five weight classes. Only fighter to ever hold titles across four decades. Hard not to put the Pac Man above Floyd when it comes to accomplishments because Floyd is not even close. And Bud certainly is an amazing boxer who has shown the ability to beat all his opponents without holding on like he’s dancing. Spence will certainly never be the fighter people thought he was after getting absolutely destroyed by Mr. Crawford. Bud is getting up in age but he seems to be aging well considering his profession. At 40-0 Bud doesn’t have to chase Mayweather for any reason. He’s already dominated for 14 years now, has more KO’s than Floyd and has fought at a higher level, Judy my opinion. Let’s just say that comparing different era fighters is lame. No proof, just BS.

I'm watching for the first time, and find it an amazing performance. Crawford against am obviously bigger guy with a deadly right anticipates and avoids his shots, outwrestles him up close, controls distance and angles with his footwork. What's not to like? Classic in my book.
