WILD CAMP - 1st Lake District wild camp on Mellbreak, Buttermere

- Eyup, Me and Craig went to the Lakes for a change.. We parked up in Buttermere, luckily we found a farmers field to park in which is 5 quid all day or 10 for overnight parking which aint to bad..
We chose Mellbreak for our first camp here as its fairly tame to climb for the area haha..
Was a fairly hot day at the bottom but once we started climbing it got a lot cooler in the wind which was very welcome.. For food i took up burgers, sausages, bacon and eggs and cooked it on my Trangia. Thanks for watching... - Zábava

...the breakfast thing. After watching you do a cooked breakfast, Ive been experimenting! Didnt have much success with the alcohol stove, so went to gas. I break two eggs into one of those small bottles, they travel finde and there is obviously no risk of them breaking. Ive been looking at those egg cases for two eggs but not seen one I like yet. Also, bacon, try putting it in a bare pan, then covering with the smallest amount of water you can. Bring it to the boil, then turn it down and wait for the water to evaporate - it tastes delicious, dont know why, but it does and means you dont get spitting fat or have to carry oil.

The trangia does an alright job it just takes a bit of time. I almost took my gas stove on this video but opted for the trangia but I think next camp I'll be cooking on gas. I've seen ppl take eggs up in a bottle, the only reason I didn't is so I can have eggs boiled if I fancy boiled eggs or fried ect. I just use a bit of egg case with some kitchen roll for protection and they go in the top pocket in the Bergen, so far so good but I'm expecting a fail soon enough 😂😂 it's me after all 😂😂 this camp I just used a bare pan and let it cook in it's own fat, and then I just leave the fat in the pan for the morning to cook breakfast in it..
I'll have an experiment at home and try cooking it how you've suggested, sounds like a really good idea mate... thanks again Phil 🙂👍🙂

@CraigDroneAdventures I was the same mate, always had wayfarer meals but there just not worth it, I had a go with mylar bags and making food to take an boil it, but I prefer fresh food now.
You just can't beat the smell of cooking bacon on a hill 🙂👍🙂
