I found myself going down that Hermès bag journey. It felt like it was taking forever. Last time I went in-store the SA gave me a look 👀 and attitude that said “Ha! You’re far from getting a bag on your wishlist!” At that point I had purchased a large size scarf, H bracelet, sandals, lots of makeup, coin wallet, belt, and watch. I immediately said to myself, no way the bag is NOT worth it! I sold everything but the watch on fashionphile. If I care for their bag in the future, I’ll get it second hand.
Some markets are really difficult to buy bags. Wishlists in Germany take around 2 years to fulfill, but first you have to have a bag appointment to place one. Appointments for this year are pretty much closed, because the demand is so high and the stores can't keep up with fulfilling them since supply is low - meaning it takes you give or take 2,5 years. So I feel for you 🤗 It was a difficult and long journey for you so congrats on finally succeeding 🎉
Congrats on this beauty, well deserved! It's so interesting to hear how each person's H journey is unique and different. I have been working with my SA in India for about 9 months and got 4 bag offers - Picotin 18, mini Lindy, B25 in Bleu France and B25 in Black with gold hw (I only purchased the picotin and B25 in black). I have also been lucky in scoring a mini kelly and Constance 24 in Paris and a Constance 18 in Hawaii this year. I think pre-spend along with a good relationship with your SA really matters. I didn't spend 1:1 (close though), but my SA put me on a list for a kelly picnic (reserved only for certain clients), and invited me to a private sale. He is always excited to show and let me try on very special pieces that they receive even though he knows I likely won't purchase them. Regardless, the amount of energy and "strategy" that goes into obtaining these bags is so taxing. I can't even imagine having to wait 1-2 years and how incredibly frustrating that must be!
The truth of the matter is, if you have actually spent at least 3:1, you'd have your bag more than a year ago; or your CA's had taken you for a ride! Trust, there is no third option, period! So please recount all your purchases and let us know (if you like and are wiling) how much you've actually spent. Vancouver is indeed the most difficult store to get a quota bag, given limited stock and drove of rich second generations in the city, plus quite a few plain Janes want in on the action, too. All my friends who shop at the Vancouver store, have multiple offers a year as well as HSS. But that's the power of purchasing furniture, bikes, $25000 of a leather stitched world globe and so on I suppose. Bottom line, this is a business, SM needs these bags to attract buyers buying things they otherwise would never get, would purchase from other houses or never thought of purchasing, in order to meet sales target, so do the CAs. Most of their clients are "patient" understating, and loyal buyers, why'd a CA offer bags to someone who doesn't contribute much to their bottom line vs the ones who do and significantly? Or you just have an Asian or Chinese CA who knows the Vancouver crowd spending power and the type of money he could pull... Tip: go into the store in a month and get a Kelly Diamond Pave Bangle, you'll have your second offeewithin 1 month 😜
Girl…. I’m from the Vancouver store as well. And have the same SA for the entire time (many years)…. Each quota bag offer for exactly the bag I wanted worked out to be less than 1:1. No lies. It’s just recently during the great surge of people like Amy herself who wanted to embark onto H (mostly Chanel fans who are tired of the crap quality of their bags and the never ending price increases), that there seems to be longer waits plus higher prespend….

@@Hermes_VVVIP right. I buy exactly what I love and never had an issue getting a bag that I want in a decent amount of time from my SA - Amy is right in buying what she loves to get a QB. I’m saying there is no need to buy what you don’t love to get a QB like the 福二代 that you mention. There are different ways to get a QB and still just buy what you love and it is still possible to get a QB in a competitive store like Vancouver. What I’m saying is Amy and a lot of people’s wait has risen by a lot, is because of the surge of people who have flocked to H recently due to Chanel being crappier quality, and Hermes being super in your face now on social media. Also, I wouldn’t call anybody Plain Jane just because they’re not super ultra rich buying rocking horses from the H House… Anybody with a true love for the H brand isn’t above or below anybody else - let’s just all be positive about Hermes - there are many real fans out there who cannot afford nor want to buy a bike or a piece of furniture to get a bag. There are many other ways to appreciate the house :)

While you calculate and decide what to buy based on the price tag, we buy whatever we want without asking the price, money is simply a "currency" we use to trade for things we like! We're commenting on Amy's video, obviously we're discussing current situation with the Vancouver store; mentioning how you could get bags below 1:1 in the past isn't helpful to anyone. While we're at it, why don't we talk about 1989 then?! It's not just the wait, I'm trying to shed light on this as my friends and I have a very different vantage point, that can show you a little inner working of Hermès. Thus I repeat if Amy "has actually spent at least 3:1, she'd have her bag more than a year ago; or Amy's CA's had taken her for a ride! Trust, there is no third option, period!" Plain Jane is correct and accurate, unless you're fancy Jones. If not, work towards it, if you don't care, then stop caring what other ppl call you. Otherwise, it shows insecurity! Nobody is above or blow anybody else, sadly, we're living in the real world, so yes there is above and blow, find your spot, and sit in it. Hermès doesn't care about your "true love", it's a business, buzz words like that sound nice, but they don't make Hermès the second largest luxury house in the world, our Money does! There are many "real" fans out there who can't afford, but definitely want to buy a bike or full house of furniture to get bags or not! The only case where someone doesn't want Hermès furniture is if they prefer Fendi Casa, or something else but in equal value or much more expensive. You see, when someone has to budget in order to get things, they lose all creditability when it comes to what they "want" and "like" to buy, as well as rational reasoning behind why not. It all comes down to money! There certainly are many ways to "appreciate" any brand, standing in front of their window displays and lurk is also a way! Maybe the SD would come out and gift you a dog tent, and set it up against one of their displays for your comfort and support of the "journey" :) Another fun fact, we've never heard of "journey" personally from our CAs, when they see the type of things you buy and amount of money you spend, there is no such a thing as "Hermès journey:, Journey WHO?! lol There is only "what other bags can I get you?"!

Happy for you! I bought so much from the store and they only offered me a K28 sellier. I think my spending for the K28 was about 1:1. I just got a new B25 (color and hardware of my choice) from a reseller and I’m happy. I’m still buying things that I like from Hermes but I’m not hoping I will get my dream bag anymore. Just enjoy the things I’m getting and see what happens. This way, the “journey “ will be a lot more pleasant. 😊

aww amy this is the perfect bag and well worth the wait, spend and effort! i believe in sacrificing a little more to get exactly what you want. we already have to accommodate so many other things in life, when it comes to shopping, i do not want to compromise 😆

It’s a long journey! I got my Birkin this year too and started my journey mid-2019 I think. I did have to spend over a certain amount because my SA said the rule here was a set number, for a regular quota bag, and more if I want to get picky 😂 ratio ended up being about the same as yours though. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see your watch!
Hi Amy. Congrats on your B25 again. Perhaps you waited long for it because you have asked for the exact specs??? I totally understood the emotions that you went through. I started my journey about 7 months ago and am still waiting to be offered a K25. There will always be trolls. Can’t please everyone in this world nor do I want to. Happiness is fragile so grab it tightly when it comes your way.

Amy! Be careful of the samorga insert, I recently got a B30 and had one of them in and it started to make a crease in the back!😫😫😫 if you put the raincoat inside of the zipper pocket it helps😒 I’m Krn so I thought samorga is gna be good quality but unfortunately I will not be using them…
I’m sorry to hear, but I don’t think that would be an issue for mine as I always opt for the thinner more malleable felt material so there is not enough firm structure to crease any leathers.

I think the pandemic late 2020 and first half of 2021 was very different in lots of countries .. lockdowns of non essential retail meant less business. I believe they either had overstock or wanted to make quick sales .. so can’t be compared to other years 🙈 Love your bag and congratulations!!
On the topic of "best categories", there is only one criteria: does it cost a lot and most people can't afford or struggle to buy! CAs don't get commissions on bags and very little on SLGs, because leather goods sell themselves, even if a bag costs $15000, most people would save and be okay with buying it (just ask CHANEL and their classic flaps 🤣) instead of spending the same amount of money on a lamp, and that's also what makes the lamp hard to sell for CAs, thus one of the only "categories" to get you bags fast and "painlessly, comes with a 3% for your CA. Shoes, belts, cheap watches, cheap fine jewelries that are not filled with diamonds, silk (under $3000), tableware, perfumes, beauty, fashion jewelry, cheap (not 100% cashmere) blankets and pillows, cheap ready to wear (shirts under $3000, coats under $6000) are not doing you any favors. As much as you're stretching yourself to buy these, so are many other competing clients, and rich second generations (but they are buying $5000 silk shirts, $$5500 cashmere blankets, $1700 cashmere pillows, $12000 pair of ear studs, $22000 cashmere coats, $18000 alligator wallets, the only commission exception to SLGs, and so on, you get the point). Clients who spend 6 figures or more yearly are happy and able to purchase these items at these price points, while others who are buying in order to get bags most certainly aren't, that's bascialy what separates and how to quota bags fast
I think it matters which region you are shopping in also. I spent less than 1:1 and was offered a B25 within a month. I purchased a variety of items, but nothing like what you mentioned. In fact mostly shoes and leather goods I'd say with a couple of RTW and home items. What you are describing sounds like cities like Dubai.
@@anabella05 It absolutely does matter, this comment was an extension to my previous one which stated Vancouver being The Most difficult store to get quota bags. Timing also matters, if you are in NA and got your bag below 1:1 NOW, expect your CA not working there much longer.
@@Hermes_VVVIP haha I can imagine. I have shopped in Dubai and heard an SA tell a client they need to spend like 75,000 DHS ($20k) just to get a Constance. I shop in India where it is slightly easier to score a bag. Also have had success in Hawaii and Paris, but of course those are more like lotteries.

Vancouver has a very small population vs all the other major cities, we receive very few bags yet there is a small group but very very very extremely crazy rich and spending Chinese Rich Second Generations in the city, who spend money like you can't fathom, but it's all very low key in Vancouver and not much publicized like the ones in NYC, London, LA, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai...

Your bag is beautiful and you’ll enjoy her for a lifetime. My journey is a long one too. It’s been about a year and I’m also over 1:1 and I haven’t even been offered non quota bags yet! I agree I think the timing was just off with the pandemic, supply shortages, and all the new exposure on the brand. Either way I have been super impressed with everything I’ve bought so far and I really am enjoying my in store experiences.

Iam also living in Germany. It took me 14 Months to get my First QB B30. For my second appointment i have to wait three months. 🥺

Girl…. I’m from the Vancouver store as well. And have the same SA for the entire time (many years)…. Each quota bag offer for exactly the bag I wanted worked out to be less than 1:1. No lies. It’s just recently during the great surge of people like Amy herself who wanted to embark onto H (mostly Chanel fans who are tired of the crap quality of their bags and the never ending price increases), that there seems to be longer waits plus higher prespend….

@@Hermes_VVVIP right. I buy exactly what I love and never had an issue getting a bag that I want in a decent amount of time from my SA - Amy is right in buying what she loves to get a QB. I’m saying there is no need to buy what you don’t love to get a QB like the 福二代 that you mention. There are different ways to get a QB and still just buy what you love and it is still possible to get a QB in a competitive store like Vancouver. What I’m saying is Amy and a lot of people’s wait has risen by a lot, is because of the surge of people who have flocked to H recently due to Chanel being crappier quality, and Hermes being super in your face now on social media.
Also, I wouldn’t call anybody Plain Jane just because they’re not super ultra rich buying rocking horses from the H House…
Anybody with a true love for the H brand isn’t above or below anybody else - let’s just all be positive about Hermes - there are many real fans out there who cannot afford nor want to buy a bike or a piece of furniture to get a bag.
There are many other ways to appreciate the house :)

While you calculate and decide what to buy based on the price tag, we buy whatever we want without asking the price, money is simply a "currency" we use to trade for things we like! We're commenting on Amy's video, obviously we're discussing current situation with the Vancouver store; mentioning how you could get bags below 1:1 in the past isn't helpful to anyone. While we're at it, why don't we talk about 1989 then?! It's not just the wait, I'm trying to shed light on this as my friends and I have a very different vantage point, that can show you a little inner working of Hermès. Thus I repeat if Amy "has actually spent at least 3:1, she'd have her bag more than a year ago; or Amy's CA's had taken her for a ride! Trust, there is no third option, period!"
Plain Jane is correct and accurate, unless you're fancy Jones. If not, work towards it, if you don't care, then stop caring what other ppl call you. Otherwise, it shows insecurity!
Nobody is above or blow anybody else, sadly, we're living in the real world, so yes there is above and blow, find your spot, and sit in it. Hermès doesn't care about your "true love", it's a business, buzz words like that sound nice, but they don't make Hermès the second largest luxury house in the world, our Money does! There are many "real" fans out there who can't afford, but definitely want to buy a bike or full house of furniture to get bags or not! The only case where someone doesn't want Hermès furniture is if they prefer Fendi Casa, or something else but in equal value or much more expensive. You see, when someone has to budget in order to get things, they lose all creditability when it comes to what they "want" and "like" to buy, as well as rational reasoning behind why not. It all comes down to money!
There certainly are many ways to "appreciate" any brand, standing in front of their window displays and lurk is also a way! Maybe the SD would come out and gift you a dog tent, and set it up against one of their displays for your comfort and support of the "journey" :) Another fun fact, we've never heard of "journey" personally from our CAs, when they see the type of things you buy and amount of money you spend, there is no such a thing as "Hermès journey:, Journey WHO?! lol There is only "what other bags can I get you?"!

I’m so glad you got your Birkin. It’s really difficult to get quota bags in my store too. Yours probably took longer as you wanted a specific combination. It can be very frustrating.
Happy for you! I bought so much from the store and they only offered me a K28 sellier. I think my spending for the K28 was about 1:1. I just got a new B25 (color and hardware of my choice) from a reseller and I’m happy. I’m still buying things that I like from Hermes but I’m not hoping I will get my dream bag anymore. Just enjoy the things I’m getting and see what happens. This way, the “journey “ will be a lot more pleasant. 😊

It’s a long journey! I got my Birkin this year too and started my journey mid-2019 I think. I did have to spend over a certain amount because my SA said the rule here was a set number, for a regular quota bag, and more if I want to get picky 😂 ratio ended up being about the same as yours though. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see your watch!
Hi Amy. Congrats on your B25 again. Perhaps you waited long for it because you have asked for the exact specs??? I totally understood the emotions that you went through. I started my journey about 7 months ago and am still waiting to be offered a K25. There will always be trolls. Can’t please everyone in this world nor do I want to. Happiness is fragile so grab it tightly when it comes your way.

Amy! Be careful of the samorga insert, I recently got a B30 and had one of them in and it started to make a crease in the back!😫😫😫 if you put the raincoat inside of the zipper pocket it helps😒 I’m Krn so I thought samorga is gna be good quality but unfortunately I will not be using them…

I’m sorry to hear, but I don’t think that would be an issue for mine as I always opt for the thinner more malleable felt material so there is not enough firm structure to crease any leathers.

I think the pandemic late 2020 and first half of 2021 was very different in lots of countries .. lockdowns of non essential retail meant less business. I believe they either had overstock or wanted to make quick sales .. so can’t be compared to other years 🙈

On the topic of "best categories", there is only one criteria: does it cost a lot and most people can't afford or struggle to buy! CAs don't get commissions on bags and very little on SLGs, because leather goods sell themselves, even if a bag costs $15000, most people would save and be okay with buying it (just ask CHANEL and their classic flaps 🤣) instead of spending the same amount of money on a lamp, and that's also what makes the lamp hard to sell for CAs, thus one of the only "categories" to get you bags fast and "painlessly, comes with a 3% for your CA.
Shoes, belts, cheap watches, cheap fine jewelries that are not filled with diamonds, silk (under $3000), tableware, perfumes, beauty, fashion jewelry, cheap (not 100% cashmere) blankets and pillows, cheap ready to wear (shirts under $3000, coats under $6000) are not doing you any favors. As much as you're stretching yourself to buy these, so are many other competing clients, and rich second generations (but they are buying $5000 silk shirts, $$5500 cashmere blankets, $1700 cashmere pillows, $12000 pair of ear studs, $22000 cashmere coats, $18000 alligator wallets, the only commission exception to SLGs, and so on, you get the point).
Clients who spend 6 figures or more yearly are happy and able to purchase these items at these price points, while others who are buying in order to get bags most certainly aren't, that's bascialy what separates and how to quota bags fast
I think it matters which region you are shopping in also. I spent less than 1:1 and was offered a B25 within a month. I purchased a variety of items, but nothing like what you mentioned. In fact mostly shoes and leather goods I'd say with a couple of RTW and home items. What you are describing sounds like cities like Dubai.
@@anabella05 It absolutely does matter, this comment was an extension to my previous one which stated Vancouver being The Most difficult store to get quota bags. Timing also matters, if you are in NA and got your bag below 1:1 NOW, expect your CA not working there much longer.

@@Hermes_VVVIP haha I can imagine. I have shopped in Dubai and heard an SA tell a client they need to spend like 75,000 DHS ($20k) just to get a Constance. I shop in India where it is slightly easier to score a bag. Also have had success in Hawaii and Paris, but of course those are more like lotteries.
@@anabella05 It is definitely a lot easier in touristy and bigger cities that have more stock. Vancouver has a very small population vs all the other major cities, we receive very few bags yet there is a small group but very very very extremely crazy rich and spending Chinese Rich Second Generations in the city, who spend money like you can't fathom, but it's all very low key in Vancouver and not much publicized like the ones in NYC, London, LA, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai...

Your bag is beautiful and you’ll enjoy her for a lifetime. My journey is a long one too. It’s been about a year and I’m also over 1:1 and I haven’t even been offered non quota bags yet! I agree I think the timing was just off with the pandemic, supply shortages, and all the new exposure on the brand. Either way I have been super impressed with everything I’ve bought so far and I really am enjoying my in store experiences.
