  • Jon Rea is a professional trail runner for HOKA living in Boulder, CO. This video documents a day in the life as Jon enters the final critical stages of his preparation for the Black Canyon 100k - one of the most competitive races ever on American soil.
    The Workout:
    - Threshold mile
    - 10x 200m hard, 300m float
    - Threshold mile
    - Afternoon strength workout
    After finishing 4th at CCC and setting a new course record at the Javelina Jundred in 2023, Jon Rea has proven he's among the best in the sport. He'll try to keep the momentum going at Black Canyon this weekend. Good luck, Jon!

    Nice idea with the video and the podcast as a package....listened to the podcast first on a run and now the video. Best of luck Jon and Freetrail/Hoka great collaboration and this is a great way to do it!!! learned a lot as usual.

    JON REA'S six 2 hour runs in 2 consecutive days is till just a mind bending workout. His trajectory just shows you have to just keep putting in the work and just love the game and there is holy moly cheat code to be great. JON REA THE GREAT AND ALL LOVE TO HIM.

      @@Freetrail And even he ran a 30 mile training run just 5 days out of the 2022 Javelina 100 miler. I don't know about this particular workout when was it done meaning during which build up race but this is somewhat bonkers of a workout after what Vanetten used to do. Vanetten putting those 50 miler training run in a single run and sometimes running even running 60 miles too. You should ask him about Rea bro about the 2*2*3 workout also.

This is not brag but I be in the ball park of 8000-10000 podcasts listened in the last 3.5 years(which is the time since I have started running).     Any idea about what shoes he's wearing before/after the work out? They look like the Tection X 3, but I'm not fully sure.
