I do sandhyavandanam 3 times a day and now as he is saying i also trying veda rakshanam by learning to do brahmayagnyam and sammithadanam as well..i stay in Melbourne Australia but wish to live near srirangam koil even though me iyer. I will hope my dream comes true after I retire.

Can they not find some way to help and fund such efforts? Brahmins should learn to be self reliant, and mutually supportive. Allur is served by Mekkudi Raiway Station. West of Mekkudi is Jeeyapuram station that serves three villages, Tiruchendurai , Ammangudi and Andanallur. Andanalluur is my mother's parental village, She was born there in year 1900 ! I have visited the village in the 1940's. I am now 87 and live in Florida.
I'm also proud about Brahmins...our ancestors are also hails from Tamil Nadu ( I think and heard somewhere in Tanjore/Ainavaram) and my Paatta also Vadhyar and Thaatha Palakkad Sanskrit scholar and Sastrigal...but I couldn't follow them ...but follows Brahmins traditions... settled in Kerala about 150 years.

Unless the govt funds such efforts finance will always be a problem. Also the purohits should be less greedy and follow the Dhaema meant for them
KSS+ Why should Brahmins be so weak-minded and feel helpless? Are there not enough well to do people among Brahmins? Are there not enough (so called) highly educated people among Brahmins? Can they not find some way to help and fund such efforts? To seek support from a self-styled secular govt for such efforts is a vain dream; even if it fructifies, it will bring unwanted interference and disaster in due course.
Brahmins should learn to be self reliant, and mutually supportive. Let them look at the Parsi community of Bombay and learn a few things from them- their self-reliance, self-confidence, mutual help, community spirit etc.
Harder days are coming for the Brahmins. If the govt resorts to reservation in the private sector, job opportunities for the Brahmins will shrink further. So, they should prepare themselves, and not sit like clay ducks.
I agree with you about the purohits. They are not only greedy, they are also nasty and heartless- most of them. In this Mahalayapaksha season, one can observe most of them in their greediest and most devious light. They bring discredit to the whole Vedic heritage. Tall talks are not accompanied by fair deeds.
