hey bat, not sure if you remember but I commented on one of your videos about me being a kendo user since the heian era of type soul, and one big tip I can say is just learn to parry.
1. if you learn to parry you can easily counter attack into your abilities by either 1. instantly press the button 2. delay your attack by 1-2 seconds (or you can use your crit in the 1-2 seconds)
2. throw in m1's into your combos, people get hella confused and start to jump and get scared because they forgot what m1ing is from how trash they are. (also use ur crit especially at the end of a combo)
3. learn alot of mixups with your kit and element, if your primary combo starter is on cooldown, it'll be good to know another combo mixup in case your opponent rushes you
4. if someone holds block, then use a semi ranged blockable attack to test if they'll parry it, (starrk wolves, cero) if they don't then that would be an easy guardbreak just stack posture on them with the same or similar abilities, if someone parries then sadly you'll have to try a different combo route. that's why its good to know every mixup you can do.
sadly I've been an arrancar main ever since the segregation era when arrancars didnt get anything and quincies were meta, even after arrancars became the most boosted, so I don't know any elements that go good with kendo apart from Starrk, Vamp, Bone, and I'm not really sure what else since I haven't changed anything about my build in over a year.

and how am i supposed to parry a move that ive never seen before? the parrying window in this game is absolute garbage rather than being on hit its "look out for the animation windup"
@@omnipotence4973 ofc u won't be able to parry a move you haven't seen before, id recommend focusing on dodging early on and as you play and progress parrying will come naturally, this game is more dodge based rather then parry based combat

@@batslc i forgot to say, the 4th tip heavily relies on delayed crossing, so if you have that its perfect to gb on a posture stack

tip on kendo: flower passage feint -> mortal ties (it words but if they start parrying it of blocking it switch it up to rising or overpowering, and on top of that overpowering has hyper armor use that as you will)

I alr went kendo for like a week and the only thing i can see is the most fun combo potential thing in the game once u master it and also i would recommend manipulate ure oppents posture so u can garbreak them and get a free combo
I feel like kendo is One Of The Skill trees in The Game which is hard to get into but rewards u greatly if u get good with it

blood z is a free sonata flow (ragdoll) and also blood longsword & kendo works (45 kendo 20 speed)

I honestly run mortal ties into flower passage into vertical into horizon, delayed crossing, bisection.

Mortal ties, flower petal (use the move again to hit them if you land the second strike) into flower passage into rising, bisection and then delayed crossing
I've been using kendo since the game opened again
I use 50 kendo ink eviscerate and sonata flow (ink c is weird to land). Eviscerate into vertical down horizon essence goes pretty hard.
eviscreate ima tell you now its hella ez to block i can literally see it coming in ranked whenever its a red thing i just press f even then its just to easy to block now im 152k elo win player its just a trash move when you go up against it almost every day imo
sonta flow is always good impossible to parry or block imo even knowing how skilled i am tried it gotta have the reaction time of a mouse i swear

Great guide, realized I’m a console commander so I literally can’t play kendo without wanting to crack open my skull (please dear god can they make console bearable to play I’m tired of playing speed it’s the only thing that works for a console peasant)

I use thunderbolt kendo. If you hit the T and G together (which isnt that difficult) you just have a free true move after (I either use rising swallow or sonata flow). But this build is only good for ranked cause kendo with the voltstaning is ass.

Could you make a movement guide? i try to get close and crit or even m1 but the way people can easily flash step away it just isnt viabale, maybe im doing something wrong
engage them w gap closers and use mortal ties to make it so they can't run away
like op says, use gap closers or you wait for them to come to you first

Wouldn’t say strongest but I think people underestimate it a lot just because the lack of mobility and gap closer
It’s mainly just the constant pressure you can give with passage and petals along with the guardbreaks. Constantly zoning into your opponent with GB moves basically REQUIRES the at you parry them and that’s something 60% of all TS players can’t do.
Ok I'm console and for me combos are kind of hard to hit
This is the combo I personally use(suzumebachi)
Flower passage
Suzumebachi grab move(I forgot the name)
Sonata flow
Rising swallow
Silent approach
And jump+eviscerate
If there are better kendo combos that are easy for console pls tell me I'm in desperate need 😭🤲
lowkey never touched console so idk how well this would work but u could try suzeme TP grab into sonata flow into vertical down into horizon core or eviscerate

suzumebachi, c goes perfectly into sonata
zangetsu/berserk because big AOE moves
water, the ragdoll on all the moves leads to really easy sonata/mortal ties

Does Duality (Odachi) synergize well with kendo?
I don’t know for certain but I imagine so since it’s more range that you can use and for close range it’s just making your arsenal of more strategic moves bigger and duality damage is busted it probably works with everything

Change it to atleast 45 so that u can use essences
ive been using kendo for since the game realesed and i can say u said some nice tips but why dont u use delayed crossing its top 3 kendo moves imo im like 60 win streak rn also VERY IMPORTANT u need to time ur parrys dont just block out of no where kendo is all about engagement so u need to able to negate as much dmg as possible

Yes that's the build I run. You can confirm Kyoka X in evis or vertical down and horizon will be easy after. Plus the clone is good.
I got duality and I'm a new kendo user ok duality is strong but I'm not comfortable with Kendo+Duality should i change it?

I've noticed that you don't have soul style in those clips and runs out of rei occasionally, it costs 0 kido and helps with rei regen from the style rank, you might've just forgotten to get it or already got it since the recording of those clips though
