Venus and Serena were so dominant and winning all the slams at very young ages, that when they went a couple years without wining, people forgot they were still in their early/mid 20s and still had time to peak. Serena was still very young when she won the US Open in 2008 in what seemed like her first slam in forever. And we see what she did from there.
