Samsung Bluray Fan NG Fix

My Samsung Blu-ray surround sound system malfunctioned for the second time, with the error message showing "Fan NG". After showing this message, the entire system would shut off completely. This seems to be a common issue. This is not a software issue, but a hardware issue. I took out the first fan, and it was no longer working. I was able to purchase a new fan and install it, which resolved all of the problems. This is how you do it.

Thank you, Daniel. I was able to take my fan out, oil it with Q20, turn it by the hand for a few minutes (to get the oil to penetrate the fan mechanism) and now the original fan works just fine. What a relief!

Thanks to the comments of others I cleaned the fan with compressed air and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol paying attention to the alcohol entering the fan. This worked for me, the problem was resolved.

Thank you for doing the video. I opened up the player and removed fan and blew out dust with compressed air. Reinstalled the fan and works! Thanks again.

Thanks Daniel. I took out my fan, cleared the dust and now it is working again as usual. The only problem was that I needed to do some delicate and patient adjustment on the fan position to avoid a disturbing vibration sound... some 10 minutes also. No idea where the weird vibration came from but the best way I could think of is to avoid it rather than tampering anything else.

Thank you for posting this! Like others commented, I took the fan out (thanks to the video) and blew it out with compressed air and now the error is gone. Been 1 week, if it fails again I will order the replacement fan.

Thanks for the great video which is very helpful. I did as some others did. Took the fan out and cleaned it with compressed air and cotton buds. It worked. I've ordered a replacement from China for £5 - - - just in case!!

I had "cleaned" the fan 2x. Still happened but not as frequent. Bought a new fan and it has been running all day (for now)

Cleaned the original fan with Electronics cleaner even though the unit had maybe 20 movies on it. But that's seemed to work. Double check amazon for the part I just ordered. As long as they ship what's in the picture Its a direct fit. No need to have to mess with soldering or stripping wires. "

I cut the blue wire and now my fan is at 100% speed but it seems to fixed the problem. No more fan ng.

Does the fan run constantly ? Or just when it gets hot......many of the newer players don't even include a fan.....

I had this same problem replaced the fan, even though it lasts longer turned on before getting the fan-ng warning, I do still get it
