A kill or kille is Dutch for stream, creek or river. You can find many kills upstate NY,eastern Pa and parts of NJ originally settled by the Dutch

I find each state names it’s features different and also their towns/villages. Townships, burrows etc. it’s really fascinating!

I've lived in the area for forty years; been an elected official as well. ALL the locals are against the national park idea. We'd have to pay to pass through and the feds have absolutely ignored Millbrook Village since Hurricane Sandy. There was a vibrant volunteer group that has been discouraged at every turn; an absolute travesty. BTW, the little structure was not a "dog house", but a smokehouse.

There is a great campground in the gap that I have stayed at several times. You can walk to the delaware river

I like your video. Its very informative. Are there restaurants nearby?

Good question! If I remember correctly the only place in the park is the walpack inn restaurant, which I can’t say I’ve eaten at. Otherwise you have to leave and get in rt 209 or one of the surrounding towns to find a place

Dry, awful. You have to go after a couple of days of rain.

There's talk of re-designating this as a national park.

It’s certainly big enough, plenty of cool hikes and things to see, and it has lots of historical value. I’d approve! 👍🏻

@@MikeGetsLost It would draw more attention and interest to the area. People come from far and wide to visit national parks. That's not so much the case for national recreation areas.

It’s not that far from New York City, I feel like that would draw a lot of great tourism to the area!
