    My snowmobile experience is "mixed". My first sled was a $950.00 Evinrude Bobcat SS with a flat apposed 400 cc 2 stroke engine. The heavy little sled had a narrow track no shocks of any kind, resulting in a beginners sled experience of 70mph if you had enough lake, opened the air intake box and shortened the wind screen. My second sled was a Ski-Doo Everest body and 440 Liquid cooled-Polaris "racing" engine which included some titanium rods of some sort and 2-48mm Mikuni Carburetors. It was quite useless, due to gas mileage and the likelihood that my brother would take it beyond it's limits. ( total seat time 3 hours). I never had the chance to see what it could really do. It's tank allowed about 20 miles range. What was left of the "Everest" was traded in for a 440cc Arctic Cat Puma(?), which had ridiculous gearing meant for powder only. It floated beautifully but it's top end was about 40 mph. This one lasted about as long as the Polaris Everest; that's 3 seat hours for those keeping track. The last two sleds cost about $150.00 per seat hour to own.
    For those of you who can choose and own a sled that starts after 3 hours of seat time, consider yourselves blessed.

    • @Snide01
      @Snide01 Před rokem

      Uh dude, you haven't even actually owned a Snowmobile then.
      First off, most Snowmobiles now days and even for the past two decades are at least 600cc and most are 700cc or 800cc. Second off they can last for tens of thousands of miles if properly maintained. They aren't even really that hard to maintain. Just check the oil, change the filters and plugs, change the wear rods every year or two, and put a new track on when they finally wear out which can be a very long time if you ride them correctly..
      Maybe try again..
