Back in April, one of slow fashion's leading companies, Elizabeth Suzann, announced that they were closing their doors permanently. Although the owner and founder Liz is no longer on Instagram, you can go to her blog post (elizabethsuzan...) to find out more. Since then, Liz has generously made her patterns available for free! As they were in a format that only pattern-makers could use, it took another team (@minimalistmachinist, @mombasics, and @thestoryclubpdx) to convert them into A0 format, with @luigiwu currently working on converting them to PDF. Thank you all!

Unfortunately, there are no instructions included with the patterns, and fortunately, my next (couple or few - you choose (couple means 2, few means 3 or more)) tutorials will be Elizabeth Suzann patterns! Although Liz has made the patterns available for free, she asks that you support her cause by making a donation to a local/regional Black led organization such as @glits_inc, @mvmnt4blklives, and @thelovelandfoundation and by posting a picture of your make with the hashtag #ESmadebyme. I hope you will join me in respecting her wishes!

And skip clipping part on the neckline! That way your neckline stays more stable! Thank you so much for pointing it out, Nancy!

Very nice tutorial! I have been sewing now for over 50 years, and I still enjoy watching how a garment is made. Your instructions were very clear and concise and easy to understand. Thank you!🙂

Great tutorial! I am also really excited to try these patterns; I have long admired the ES silhouette.
One important tip on the bias-bound neckline: you really DON’T want to clip that seam allowance. If you were using the bias as a facing, and turning that seam allowance toward the garment body, then clip the seam allowance (but not the bias strip) to release the curve. But when binding over an edge, don’t clip anything. It isn’t needed, and clipping compromises the stability and integrity of the bound edge.
    Thanks again!

Thank you for this wonderful and easy tutorial! I cannot wait to make up this dress for a few friends who I know would love it! Sad to see that Elizabeth Suzann has closed up her shops, but glad that she is sharing her patterns for such a good cause! This has got to be simply the easiest pattern I have seen. Especially since I bought 3 yards of beautiful rayon and can’t seem to find a pattern that suits the material. Usually you find a pattern first, then you buy the material. But, I fell in love with this rayon. It’s colour and feel and beautiful. I hope I can get the free pattern you used. Thank you for making it look so easy and so nice.
