- In this video we show you how to make alcohol. Specifically, we're making vodka. Vodka is a high proof spirit that was traditionally made from potatoes. However, most modern vodka is made using corn, primarily. We're making an upscaled craft vodka using corn, barley, rye, and more. We'll run you through the entire process while answering a lot of common questions, as well as thoroughly explaining many of the intricacies of making vodka.

I’m loving these collaborations. Some really great info.
Lots of great information in this with the Q&A.
As a long time Stillit subscriber, this video took me back to the early stuff from Jesse's channel. A great watch.
Petition for Emmet to grow out the hair again
Color the beard blue
Where do I sign
"A moment of silence for the whiskey that could have been..." That's what I was thinking when I saw the grain bill!!! BUT, vodka does lead to some great other spirits...
Awesome entertainment for me. Always curios how to make things like this even though I cant make anything like this.
Damn good guys, thanks! Thoroughly informative!
First Love the vids, and the system. Yall got me into the hobby. Just made my first Hazy NEIPA and it came out amazing
Really appreciate this
You were not sober during the sripping run...I know, I've been there. No liquid vapor!
Have something to add about leaving product uncovered overnight to "air out"
Make sure you don't have a dehumidifier in same space set to 30% relative humidity 😂
I'm optimist, but my jars were half empty not full the next day
Endlessly amused at Jesse asking about just using the backyard hose and forgetting that in most of the world water straight out of the hose actually tastes disgusting. How blessed we are to be from New Zealand
Thanks guys. This is genuinely fantastic advise. Really engaging.
Could a still be ran off solar power?
Speed not an issue.
Great video with lots of good info for a newbie and experienced distillers all on one video. I definitely saved it for future reference. Have you thought of a list of the different descriptors to help us make cuts?
It felt really weird watching a non Jesse video in a Jesse environment :D Great video!
Miss the beer vids
why does Kyle look exactly as Glenn Howerton (Dennis Reynolds from it's always sunny in Philadelphia)?
Awesome video!!
I didn’t learn anything new… but, I really enjoyed watching 😊
Yeah, Jesse is great. Solid description of running reflux for max ABV neutrals but it is an abomination to do this to a whiskey. Double pot still whiskey instead.
Now go toss 1/2 of a vanilla bean in a bottle and fill it up with that vodka. After a couple weeks toss it into the freezer. You can thank me later.
Where can I get flaked corn in New Zealand?. Can I substitute with maize?
One more thing
When large quantities are mixed together it raises temperature of products then it throws off the hydrometer.
Use calculator and add that amount of water instead of using hydrometer to see if you are there
This makes me so want to try distilling so bad. Too bad we can’t be “trusted” [taxed] in the States
go outlaw shiners im in australia
What was the strike temp?
Emmet - does the small distillery in Colorado = Leopold Bros?? (1:11:40)
im a newbie at best... but the "crud" in the stripping run,,,, im going to say its from the butter
Vacuum distillation would capture more fractions
I watched dozens of videos before someone said to not throw out the 4 shots because you can use it as a cleaner or stripper.
Most people say to throw it out, I think Jesse is one of the first and few that I’ve seen recommend use as a cleaner.

FFS.
Use a calculator 😁 At least they're not using cups
The metric system is the tool of the devil
I personally dislike parrots because they smear the distillate; making it harder for a beginner like me to accurately gauge cuts. Is this something I've fooled myself into due to what I've read online, or is this really a thing?
Third I guess who cares. I never understood the potato vodka myth.
Russia is too cold half the year to harvest potatoes and they do grow a lot of grain so..... And you need breakfast every day. Vashe zdorov'ye! Or na zdarovye. Both seem popular.
Nice video guys.
