Forest River Messed Up Our New Trailer After Replacing The Wall | NoBo 19.3

  • After having our NoBo 19.3 for only a few months, the Passenger side wall started to delaminate around the windows and bunk access door. After waiting 4 months, they sent back our trailer with doors that wouldn't shut or lock. This is the story and how I fixed their mess.

    Thanks for the video. We were considering trading our Winnebago Micro Minnie for a No Bo but after your video we will stay with what we have. We had issues with Winnebago and our dealer all of which could have been avoided had they exercised just a small amount of quality control. Our problems were nothing compared to yours. The dealers and manufactures absolutely do not care about delivering a quality product or service.

    I appreciated your review of the 2021 NoBo 19.3. As someone targeting the market for a Forest River NoBo 19.3 this year, 2023; it’s more than a mere heads up, to know what to look out for in terms of a new purchase.
    Who knows, it may have been a bad production year; but, a bad year is no excuse for poor quality workmanship.
    Thank you for the video; we’ll keep an observant eye on things.

I haven't had any issues since fixing the doors and this year(knock on wood) has been pretty trouble free. Thanks for watching!

      Yeah, I agree. We have a smaller Rpod dealer here that my wife's parents have bought 3 trailers from and they are always fast and thorough with their repairs. I think it's just the demand. We are real close to buying one of these but can’t find a ton of reviews. I know thousands have been sold but I’m only seeing a handful of reviews. • @RoadandReel
      @RoadandReel  Před 2 lety +6

      I would definitely buy this trailer again. Unless I can afford an Airstream or some other luxury brand, this is just part of owning a trailer. I think a person has to be handy enough to tackle most problems that come up or else your trailer will spend a lot of time at the dealership. We love our trailer. It has exactly what we need for our family. Our problem is we camp and travel every month of the year, so when a major issue comes up, it's a big inconvenience especially when the company drops the ball. My mother-in-law is on her 3rd Forest River trailer and she loves them. My brother-in-law is on his 2nd Winnebago trailer and on their first one, all the doors warped and had to be replaced. Everyone has a different story and the truth is most people have very minor issues and no complaints. Any trailer can have issues and if you are handy, you can fix most of them yourself. Forest River is sending me new doors from the assembly line and I'm going to put them in myself and that saves us about 8 weeks of waiting. We love our trailer and would definitely buy it again.

I think they may be fine for light use like 3-4 trips a year. They are definitely not designed for heavy regular use. We have repaired nearly every system. @@dannyhyde7014 well I got the 19.3 so we’ll see. I can already tell some of the interior is cheap but that’s expected I guess from an assembly line RV from a massive manufacturer. The appliances are nice and the cheap trimming and hardware can be replaced as I go. Frankly I’m more apt to work on a cheap item than an expensive luxury one. The exterior seems to be pretty solid, I’ll probably replace the crappy corrugated bottom with something more substantial at some point and maybe eternabond the roof. Actually, we are still really happy with this trailer. We've had a few issues, but my in-laws had delamination on their RPod, our friends have had delamination on their new Winnebago, and our other friends are doing fine in their Keystone. I think it comes down to 2021-2022 model years. I have spoken with some owners of the new 2023 models and although they are really new, they say quality is a lot better. With the different models that are out there, there's really nothing to replace our needs. I say go through a good dealer with a great service department and you will good. Almost all trailers have issues within the first year and that's where the dealer comes in. I met someone with an Airstream this summer that was facing issues with water intrusion and that was a new $120,000 trailer. The difference was Airstream offered to replace it if they couldn't get it fixed and Forest River wants me to fix my own doors. Sorry for the long answer, but yes, I would buy it again.

I traded in my 2022 Cherokee Wolf Pup 16BHS for it after towing it 3,000 miles to Phoenix and back after owning it for about 9 months. Due to the market conditions didn't really lose any value on trade in. The 2nd axle on the NoBo really makes a big difference with sway and wind. @@RoadandReel Sorry to hear about your issues. We have a 5th wheel with a slide design issue. We have spent $5k to get it fixed and its still not fixed. Our RV is no longer under warranty...1 year our of warranty and the slide out issue turns out to be a design defect causing the wall frame to fail...i.e.. broken frame wall. Of course Grand Design basically said too bad so sad. I am SO not happy...I spent a lot of money for a 5th wheel that, after a couple years of light use, is unusable. I hope other read this and realize that 99% of RV makers produce garbage that won't last for more than a couple years.

    If you read the reviews, you would have never bought it.

      If I read any reviews of travel trailers, I wouldn't buy a single one. Even Lance and Airstreams have their issues, but the customer service backs them very well. I can fix anything on these except the walls and roof. It's just unfortunate this major issue happened so soon. After this first year, I have a third party warranty for 6 more years that allows me to go to a local repair facility. The only problem with that is not having the trailer during repairs.

      @@RoadandReel I feel I'm at this stage with these manufacturers. They all seem to be lackluster. Fortunately for me and like you I can repair or modify most of the issues on my own and likely in higher quality and efficiency. I looked at a Grand Design Imagine the other day thinking I was going to see better materials and craftsmanship and well I didnt. It MAY have been put together just a liiiiiiittle bit better or the MFGs customer service MAY be a little bit better but then that trailer isnt offering some of the features the NOBO 19.3 is offering like the torsion axles, and bunk door.

      The problem is they make up almost a quarter of the industry and they've doubled in size in the last 10 years. A lot of quality control has been lost along the way.
