These commercials are almost as amazing as the old behind the scenes Trek videos 👌
Caught on camera , lol “ will stay etched in your mind forever “
@@ClatakesalookTIL they used to sell snuff videos on TV lmao
@@Clatakesalook I think they just actually showed people dying on tv as a fun tv ad omg
@@ClatakesalookNow we just use CZcams for that lol
@@Clatakesalook$19.99 per VHS tape lol. Do kids these days even know what VHS is?
One of my favorite DS9 episodes.
One of the best episodes in the whole franchise. It’s personally my favorite.
Hard to believe it's now been 29 years since this documentary (and the technologically ground-breaking DS9 episode whose making it chronicles) was first put on the air. TWENTY. NINE. YEARS. And as George Takei predicted, many of them *were* still around to see Star Trek's golden anniversary in 2016. Still one of my favorite episodes of ANY Star Trek TV series.
What’s even crazier is how that technology has now handcuffed the show to remaining in the standard def world. Episodes like this are why it would be 1000x more complicated and expensive to remaster DS9 in HD than even TNG was.
It's such an achievement that they managed to bang one of these out every single week (2 a week if you enclude Voyager)!
No-one's talking about it, but I think that's one of the most impressive things about this!
Ira Steven Behr is the most "90s LA" guy ever, and he still looks like that lol
He’s beautiful
Cirroc Lofton looked super 90s too lmaoooo
now he looks like Avery Brooks haha
Wow that's weird seeing Ira without coloring in his beard.
This is great. I recorded this off of the Sci-Fi channel when it first aired, but I missed the first segment of the show. So this is the first time I've seen the first few minutes of it.
Others have already said it, but these commercials are an amazing throwback
This was a real cool ass episode of Deep Space Nine crossing over with the original Star Trek series
DS9 just has the best writing out of every show. And the effects on this episode were wayyyyy ahead of their time.
DS9 was truly some of the greatest Trek ever.
I remember when this episode came out! So weird that they did this for a 30th anniversary, and now it is almost 30 years since this DS9 episode came out!
I love the bit about the "homage to Roddenberry". Gene HATED the original episode at first, he thought it was too "camp" and would undermine the seriousness of the series.
The more I learn about that guy, the more I wonder what exactly he wanted the show to be... Because it kinda just sounds like he wanted intergalactic porn😑 I'm glad for people like Behr making amazing stories, because it sure improved after he died! Not talking about that sexist guy on purpose because he killed Jadzia😡
Thank you for including the commercials in this video as well. I always love a trip down 90s Street.
I just rewatched this episode. Just amazing! LLAP!
I really miss the 90's, wasn't the best personally living in the them but TV was helluva lot better then
And here we are almost 30 years later!
Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but Terry seemed genuinely into it ^_^
And I remember the preview, seeing her in that micro-mini….
i love "movie magic"
thankyou for sharing this 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
You know, I always wondered if there was a thought to go back to the trouble with tribbles episode and put the new footage in the background, so the new actors are there in the 60s but the plot never deals with them... retconning the episode. Just thinking out loud.
That’s a great idea 😆
29 years from T&T they made the DS9 TwT... now 28 years later we're watching it
May your tribbles be few
Too bad the sci fi channel choose to abandon their core audience
And VHS took those coffee stains away.
18:35 Whoops! back than they noticed issues with the old TOS footage, as we do now with DS9 footage :)
7:22 good timing 😊
I wish they had cut out the commercials and that strange bit at the beginning.
Ah NTSC video feed...kinda miss those weird colors.
speaking of 30 years ago its almost 30 years since this was first broadcast.
Do you have The Making of Star Trek Deep Space Nine Who Mourns for Morn
Deep cuts .
@@Clatakesalook What does that mean?
@@chris1pugsley you’ve never heard the term deep cut. ? Allow me to tell you what it means
Unfortunately I do not. I don't believe there was ever a "making of" of Who Mourns for Morn. Good episode by the way.
@@analog_video_archives Thanks
Is the Sci-Fi Channel related to the SyFi channel?
The Sci-Fi Channel launched in 1992. Rebranded to SyFy in 2009.
Amazing coincidences
aol tho XD
Could of edited out the old commercials but other then that nice litte gem
Why would 63 children lie?😂
The Enterprise wasn’t exactly accurate the lower sensor dome is much too big it should have been a little smaller
WHY WOULD 62 CHILDREN LIE?!?!
Ahhh... the commercials. Man and woman. The way it should always be. U miss those days.
Its crazy how we live in almost this tech era and now star trek is lame lol
I like to think that all good things come to an end. Unfortunately Star Trek couldn't be good forever.
very true but to just be wiped out within an era is crazy yet this show is set in a future we are almost living in now, besides the space ships we basically have it all ( no fly ships)@@C0LTELL0
