I always appreciate your sewing videos so much. You are clear, concise, logical, and the camera work is gorgeous.
Aw, thank you! It has been so much fun to learn more about filming and videography. 😊
Also meant to say, love the happy accident of curing the neckline to wide, your solution is so nice!
My Gosh that’s absolutely beautiful. And the kitty content is so purrrrrrrfect!!
You are very talented. The blouse is stunning, and your fur baby is adorable 😍
Thank u for sharing.
''if I had planned this beforehand'' is a mood I'm very familiar with 😅 the vertical loops are really ingenious!
Another incredible make.
Wowwwwwwww. I’m so inspired. So lovely and loved the snuggle break. Can’t wait for your channel to explode cuz goodness. Your videos are just too good.
Wow, the way you fixed the neckline is definitely the most beautiful element of the whole blouse! What a wonderful video!
First of all, the purr made my day 100% better. Thank you for gifting us the purr.
Secondly, wow. What a beauty. Being in the midst of a similar wardrobe journey, although much behind in terms of progress, this was super inspiring. And I shall attempt to adopt a similar mindset to problem solving; sit, have a cup of tea, and be a little more extra than what you set out to be. Perfect.
Purrs make every day 100% better. Hard agree. 😊
I am happy you found it inspiring! Toxic perfectionism is so sad when we could just be making the things!
Colour me impressed! The blouse turned out so gorgeously! I might not have the patient to sow myself but I do adore watching others do it, add that you got a really comfy voice to listen to as well as on point camera angles. I keep coming back to watch your videos!
Stunning piece of crafting! Even the Edwardians would have been impressed.
And aren't you lucky to have a void that stares back at you 😽
All the purrs to you and your furry 🖤 paperweight 🐾
Sweet little void kitty! My little soot sprite was trying to snuggle up into me for the whole video too. ><
The blouse turned out so great. I love how you turned a setback into a really beautiful feature of the piece. My mother's a painter and she always told me that whenever she makes a "mistake" she makes it a couple more times in the painting so it becomes a choice instead of a problem. XD
Gotta love our little soot sprites, always cuddly at the least opportune moments. 😅
I think your mother makes a good point! No one would’ve thought twice about it if I hadn’t mentioned the mistake. But I like talking about the process. :)
Beautiful blouse, great video. I very much enjoy and admire your work
Your blouse turned out beautifully!! I love the bobbin lace, it's so delicate!
I love the bobbin lace too! It was quite nerve-wracking making sure all the ends were properly sealed off in seams and wouldn’t unravel on me.
Kristine your new blouse just gorgeous. I wish i can make something like this.
I realise that this video is over a year old now but honestly that's a beautiful blouse! It isn't a style I would wear but I do seriously admire it.
My own wardrobe is almost all thrifted, even if that's fabric that I have salvaged from existing garments, but I still want it to last as long as possible so except in very rare circumstances I opt for more natural fabrics and look after them well.
Love watching videos like this as I sew too. Always great videos!
I was just working on a generic folkdraktskjorte and was working on felling the underarm gusset just as you mention about anxiety making sure sleeves mirror images. Well, I discovered just as you said that that I did not mirror image the gusset seams but going to leave that as-is since they are just underarm gussets. I will take care when doing the cuffs! Unless I make button holes on both sides and use cufflink. I am with you about French seams. Can so relate! 😂
Oh no! Sleevils strike again!
To be honest I would leave it too when it is just the gusset. But a bit more precarious at the cuffs, or for a fitted sleeve with a back and front. 😂
For et fantastisk eksempel på nydelig gammelt håndverk perfekt satt sammen med nydelig nytt håndverk! Dette er en bluse man kan være stolt av å bruke ved de aller største anledningene, virkelig et stas-plagg. Veldig bra jobba!!
Wow that turned out so beautifuly! I can't sew to save my soul so I totally get why you didn't go Bernadette's route. You did as many workarounds as she did tho! I would love to see you collab 🥺 you being closer to Ghent (just assuming you're European and there) must be why you can access beautiful tatted products like that. Would love to even see that lace
Ooooh, I don't know about Ghent. It would very well have inspired lace-makers, but I do think these were made locally. But of course skills travel with books and magazines. It would be so cool to know how it traveled. I am hoping to try bobbin lace again at some point. But I need to know for sure that dear Soot has stopped pulling pins first!
Such a gorgeous shirtwaist, and it fits you so beautifully. Love the gentle hint of a yoke the tucks form. The loops look so good, they seem to grow out of the lace on the cuffs and look like and extension of it. Do give the pin puller a cuddle from me.
Definitely going to be a cuddle pile tonight. I was pleasantly surprised at the effect of the pintucks too. Quite a lucky project. :)
❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful 😊 blessings
This is absolutely gorgeous. I love how well the fabric and lace tones and texture complement each other, and the button loops also really look like they were Made to go with this lace. Just beautiful.
Ps: if you don't mind, do you think it would be possible to take a closeup picture of the lace? It's not too dense so it might be possible to figure out the pattern... (It's of course fine if you'd rather not)
Thank you for the video!
I’ll see if I can take a clear photo and put it on my website. I did intend to save a small piece too for pattern and logging purposes. A photo is a great idea. :)
No easy way to put pictures on CZcams, but I uploaded it to my website. :) kristinevike.com/vintage-lace-and-pintucks-making-an-edwardian-inspired-shirtwaist-blouse/
Wow,, den blev virkelig smuk
Rigtig godt løst problem med blonde i hals
Takk! Det løste jo plutselig problemet med hvor blonden skulle plasseres også.
Merci beaucoup pour vos vidéos et votre travail que j'admire beaucoup !
Sauriez-vous où je pourrais trouver un patron pour faire cette chemise ?
Merci beaucoup !
The base pattern from this shirt was taken from a blouse that already fit me and adapted. Hopefully you could do something similar! :)
"no more closeness" accurately describes sewing with my black cat also 😂😍
