The song is meant to portray the lives of slaves to corporate societies, both in the states as blue collar workers, and internationally as actual slaves, some of whom are children forced to work in factories by their governments and businesses for the sole purpose of feeding their families. The point of the song is that, while the average man toils and works his life away, only the rich reap the reward, and only the scraps are given to those who give their lives to a society that doesn't give gives fuck about them.
