Actually this is the opposite situation. You are supposed to be in a position of power but Jin kind of eroded a fair amount of such rules. So it changed the dynamics of the group such that they are all relatively chill with each other over the age thing. Jin/Kook just love to bicker. It's how they show affection to each other. In contrast to this, you should see the video of BTS bullying Jin.. to understand how not a stickler he is for age related power stuff..
Yea the Korean age thing is actually very real but with bts it's very different. They are very relaxed with the whole age thing jin and jungkook are a good example of it. They bicker alot about the age thing for fun, Jin even said he likes joking with jungkook because he can carry a joke really well. BTS tend to switch rolls a lot and even call jungkook hyung sometimes for jokes. He will even act like a hyung and some Korean's are kind of shocked when it comes to jungkook in BTS.
waleska's absolutely right about the hierarchy system!! but as nice as it sounds, a lot of people are known to abuse the "power" of being older in a professional environment as they have superiority over their younger colleagues. jin, however doesn't impose on the other members using his age as a reason and even let us know multiple times that he makes an effort to get closer to the other members, esp the younger 3 by goofing around with them and acting young. he also doesn't seem to have any sort of "ego" attached to his age and is always willing to accept help from the other members to improve at his craft. this is why he's one of the closest to jungkook (the youngest of the group) and is always seen goofing around with him behind the scenes. such dynamics between the youngest and the oldest is pretty much unheard of and i believe is only possible because of jin's unique mindset stepping into the group.

9:56 fun fact about the age thing and BTS with their relationship with each other :
One of the reasons they have a really good connection and chemistry beside the fact they live together for more/less 10 years is, except the leader (RM) and the maknae (JK) the 3 oldest members (Jin Suga & jhope) are the maknae in their own family and the twins maknae (i mean Jimin & V 😂) are the oldest child in their own family. RM is the oldest, JK is maknae in his family.
So.. Each one of them understand each other more.
That's why the hyung line and the maknae line is in a good relationship even people who work with them before (staff, crew & reporters) surprised by this. (many group members faking their good relationship = those staff crew and reporters words not mine).
Like Jin & JK, the eldest & the youngest by 5 years have a really close bond like we saw.. Not many groups have that.
The 3 eldest know how it feels to be the youngest (it's not always fun) and the 2 makane know how tiring to be the oldest and used to take care of their lil bro or sist. They balance really well :) I'm rambling~ sowwy 💜

it’s not necessarily because Jin is the hyung, Jin simply has the kind of personality that could make the members feel close to him! he’s not a person that asks people to treat him specially just because he is the oldest, he somehow earned the members’ respect. although you may notice that most of the time they like to play around/bickering with him, that’s actually because Jin is so carefree & not very strict about that kind of stuff. it’s obvious that people are comfortable around Jin 💜 please like Jin and support him, he is a very kind person 😔✊🏻

Ah yes, the older age = authority + respect aspect of Korean culture. I personally like that aspect of their culture (maybe bc my culture is pretty similar in some ways) but Ik there are many aspects of Korean society that abuses that power and BTS have talked about it many time (not at them almost getting blacklisted by the government multiple times bc of it 😂😂)
Some of those songs where they call out abuse of power/authority:

If you ever listen to any of these, you’ll notice a lot of the songs where they’re heavily and openly criticizing Korean society or their gov are always hidden behind an upbeat and bright melody and fun/cute choreography. It’s almost like they want to distract you visually from hearing what they are saying.

I really like to see how Idol groups are with each other, so cute. Yeah, age is very important in Korean culture and its not just the youngest in groups that these rules apply. The oldest in a group has responsibilities to the younger members (ex. when Jin mentioned buying so much food for JK its common for the elder to pay for the younger) so it goes both ways and its up to the people to decide how strict they want to adhere to the social rules. There are also variations of these rules in a family, friend group, office/company and school setting as well.

The thing about being older in korea can be a huge advantage to a younger person as well.
Btw, just in case you didn't know, Jin was just joking when he 'scolded' txt 😂 As I know Jin's personality, he's the type of older brother that wants the younger ones to be comfortable, so if he had to chose between being warm(while letting the younger ones freeze) and being cold (while the younger ones are warm and cozy) he would 100% choose to let the younger ones be warm and cozy. Jin type of older brother is probably the best type of older brother there is in Korea
So there are pros and cons to being both younger and older:
If you are older:
*Pros..?
1. You do have 'power' over the younger ones, but most people don't use it to a huge extent, just the normal "(I'm older than you so) don't talk in that manner with me"
2. You are seen as an older sister/brother (protective person) which makes you feel pretty good
*Cons:
1. You are expected to treat a person younger than you to meals (a lot of them 😂😂) #cryingwallet 😢
2. Sometimes you cannot say 'no' (mostly because the younger person will look cute to you; aegyo could be used in order to make you do smth for the, but of course, there are some people that won't care about stuff like these *especially if it's cringy*, and won't let you "order" them around by acting cute and they might even mock your aegyo 😂 which is funny but sometimes scary.
If you are younger:
Pros:
1. As I said, you can be treated to a lot of meals/have the older person cook for you, have stuff bought for you with their money (sadly, some younger people use it to their advantage a lot of the time)
2. An older person is very likely to take your side over someone else who is the same age as them (so there are 2 older people *of the same age* and you: if one of the older ones starts accusing you/orders you around, the other person will take your side (mostly if you are close to them/if they like you as a person) being like "Hey! Why can't you do it yourself? You lazy or something?"(it's nice to experience stuff like that as a younger person^^)
Cons:
1. As a younger person, you are expected
To not: yell/cuss/order around/be mean to an older person {even saying 야!(yah!) "hey! what the hell" type reaction is seen as a bad thing [again, there are people that don't mind it as much nowadays, but still you gotta be careful -I'm talking about people under 30, as people over 30~35(approx) are more used to younger ones being very respectful to them, and to people over 40 you should never ever in your life say "yah!" as it is very very impolite and you're seen as 'a person with absolutely no respect for his/her elders']}
2. In a family, this was (and still is) a huge deal, since you were compared a lot to your older sibling(s)/cousins (not all families do/did this). But this happens almost everywhere.
*That's mostly it for pros and cons (there are more, but these are the most noticeable, and my hand is starting to hurt from writing, so I'll stop)😂
Also, over the age of 16(approx) it's better to be the younger sibling (in my opinion) as you have less stuff to worry about and you can expect to be treated well by older people (like their cute lil' sibling)
But for kids, they like playing the older sibling [they like the 'power' they have (not all of them do though, as some like to be dependent on others, and other kids like to treat kids younger than themselves like a little sibling as well, depending on their personality)]

Older brother of a:

-girl 》오빠 [oh-ppah]
Younger sibling:

Oh yeah, at work it's a little different, the younger person is the one that knows practically nothing and the older person is the one that knows best (basic standards.. it's not true though, sometimes the younger person knows way more than the older person)

Yh TXT has been feeling pressure since even before they debuted. They are the first group to debut in Big Hit since 2013 when BTS did and ppl had high expectations for when they were about to debut bc BTS is such a big popular group with amazing music however TXT since their debut they haven’t disappointed at all and they are labelled as a group who paved the way for the 4th gen of kpop and the 4th gen leaders bc of how many global achievements they have made and how their music is very versatile plus their storyline is amazing too.

These days, it's changing more and more, but Korea needs to be respectful and respectful to adults. The relationship between BTS is different from the usual one, so it looks fun and special.
