This video surely emphasizes my hatred for the advice often given in forums: use a Magic Eraser to clean your Louis Vuitton. Please, just don't do it.

Oh thank goodness I googled ‘repair cracked Louis Vuitton canvas’ and you came up! I’ve seen the magic eraser suggestion so often since I’ve been researching cleaning up LV’s so I can buy loved instead of new from now on. Oh I’m so happy I kept scrolling and watching so I saw this! It seemed harsh to me, because I too have had paint come off of my wall using one, but you’re right I wanted an easy way out. I know better! Now I remember that too. Thanks so much for this!

Cele Juno I’m so glad you found it! I have seen too many people recommend ME and seen the aftermath. I’m glad you are spared!!!

HATE when people recommend magic eraser! Better off leaving the dirt and staining.

Girl, you nailed it! I have LV bags that have been with me for 20+ years and not one LV employee suggested the magic eraser.

I am new to restoring bags and I have seen this advice sooo many times. The first time I read it I was quite shocked as I have used the magic eraser on my painted walls at home to remove marks - and they literally remove the paint! I could not imagine using them on an expensive bag...or putting my bags in the washing machine as others recommend!! Just the sound of you rubbing that Vachetta with the eraser made me cringe....why...why do people do this!!!????

Thank u for this video hun. I used a magic eraser to "pull out" stains from a vachetta luggage tag. It definitely changed the surface texture of the tag and now i have been DAILY rubbing mink oil into it to bring back its slippery looking sheen. But no luck yet. Its almost like it has made the leather just suck all conditioning inside of it and it hides inside and doesnt prouce much result on the surface as desired. Thank you for this video...im going to watch ur videos on how to properly clean my lv vachetta💖

I watched a video someone cleaned vachetta leather with plain water and it actually worked. No water spots it was like magic!

jasper Hawn yes! That’s actually the first method of “do no harm.” Water wipes or plain water if there’s no major dirt or stains.

@@Luxe2Point0 I never understood the magic eraser thing and would be mortified to even think of ever using one on any bag let alone one I paid 100s for 😯 I love your videos btw 👍 and hope you have a awesome day my friend ⚘

I just got a preloved lockit LV and the bottom corners looked like it was dragged not carried. after cleaning it with saddle soap and conditioning with the black rock 😉 it looks better but the corners are still dark. What do you suggest to avoid the devils route?
