  • The City of London - Money and Power 2 of 2 - BBC Documentary, recorded 19.02.2011
    Today I watched a Documentary on BBC.
    Title: The City of London: Money & Power
    Salient Features Narrated were:
    1) London City is Run by and belongs to Bankers and Merchants.
    2) It is separated from the Royal Territory by a Pillar with a dragon on it.
    3) Even the Queen must ask permission to enter that territory.
    4) The Royalty borrow Money for their Rule or Conquests from the Merchants.
    5) It is a symbiotic relationship. Merchants need the Royalty to mesmerize the people and keep them hoping.
    6) The City runs on Greed, Gambling and Competition.
    7) Financial weapons of mass destruction are created, accepted and used.
    8) You Come to the City to Live by the sword and die by the sword.
    9) If you Lose, there is a door, you can Leave.
    10) This is the way it has been for Centuries and will always be.
    I was perplexed by this Blatant Narration.
    This is the same pattern copied all over the world after 1945 and the British Colonial Rule. That is why there are many riots - People are rioting against a System they did not think will come into existence over time and by stealth. You can't simultaneously demonstrate how stressful the job is and make out these people don't deserve their bonuses, this isn't journalism, it's propaganda

    • @colasalz2
      @colasalz2 Před 9 lety +9

      just because it is stressful, it doesn´t mean that they deserve that kind of bonus.
      Medics jobs are stressful too, they dont get a bonus.
      The only thing you can say: noone would do the job without the bonus.
      Because the only thing you do is putting orders together. Not very intelectual, but you can make a lot of money with it.

    It’s not real money...it’s promissory notes. Since the demise of the gold standard paper or plastic notes have no real worth.

    @Francesko263 , agree. Add that today you have succesful economies with cheaper currencies , that grow , create jobs , more middle class and people are happy.
    What you see today is the end of the hard currency as stated in 1944 for 15 lucky few.
    Countries like Britain are in deep trouble, based on `financial services` insted of real productivity.....making money with no effort and exporting tourists is never a solution.

    Deindustrialization=rise of finance power

  • @Francesko263
    @Francesko263 Před 12 lety

    We're all at the turning point. All of us. It's not just a geopolitical matter (the decine of a unipolar world ruled by USA and the birth of a multipolar word). It's a technological matter. World energy resources and raw materials are insufficient for all mankind. We're facing the crisis of our technological model. We're going towards the 4th industrial revoution which wil change our lives forever. And no industrial revolution happened without a period of crisis, riots, wars and instability.

    It's sad that they don't adress the TRUE CAUSE of the financial crises of 2008 which is the system itself.
    If only Austrian Economists ruled the financial system...

    • @PolRomeoInvestor
      @PolRomeoInvestor Před 2 lety

      right, risk taked by city boys it's notthe cause of the financial crisis. It's the central bank printing money what cause bubbles.
      City boys mesured risk, they are professionals....

    10:09 This fellow is living in a fantasy world. We'd be crawling around eating beat roots without central banks? Innovation that has driven modern living has come entirely from tinkerers, scientists, and good old fashioned trial and error - not at all from central banks. He is offended by caps on bonuses purely by self-interest and not at all by any rationale argument. I'd like to see this gentlemen get a job where he has actual skin in the game instead of wagering the money of others.

    Letting the financial district have their own semi country? Maybe the british people should try to bring this inside regular national laws and regulations instead of complaining about the immigrants and listening to right wing demagogues like Farage. This is even worse than what happens at Wall St.
