PREPOSITION "FOR"
FOR
- Conjunctionn: "I had to leave, for I was hungry."
- Preposition: "I only came for the movie."
(the movie) - can be a noun or a verb
(for) - para sa - kadalasan but not all the time
• USE:
- purpose (e.g. for writing)
- use (e.g. for painting)
- recipient or who will benefit
- "para sa"
• TIME and DATE:
- duration (haba ng oras that a certain event will take place or mangyayari) (e.g. for 8 hours)
- a period (e.g. for years, for decades, for a century)
- future date (e.g. for tomorrow, for next week)
- season/holiday (e.g. for Easter, for Christmas)
• MONEY:
- amount
- something cost (binayaran - e.g. for PHP20,000)
- someone earns (wages - e.g. for PHP30,000 a month)
• BELIEF:
- if you stand for something
- something a person supports or sides with
- e.g. for good governance, for adopting cats
• EMPATHY:
- feelings for other people
- having feelings toward someone else
- nakakadama ng feeling para sa ibang tao
- e.g. for you
- para sa kanila
• PLACE:
- a place someone or something is headed to
- e.g. for New Zealand
- pupuntahan
*BOUND TO - action
- e.g. bound to happen, bound to succeed
*BOUND FOR - destination
- e.g. bound for Quezon City, bound for the Philippines
