I am an artist, bro if only you had some experience with drawing postures and the slight bends and turns etc. Its completely difference. The trailer Eren is like original Eren and the anime Eren is like an amateur artist (like me😂) trying to add my own unique idea to that drawing. Sometimes it works but in this scene i dont know why would you improvise at all. I mean its just a waste of time and plus the chance of ruining it too instead(which happened).
Instead bring other scenes to better quality like the "weird uphill walk" could be more passionate or some more hand movement. Idk whats missing but something probably is

@@IAmMega Oh no, the budget is fine. And although they were on a tight schedule even after ASKING for more time (which they didn't get), they still produced a good start up to season 4
And hell they were the only studio that can or even wanted to accept AOT, even WIT didn't want to do a season 4.
But still, i just can't help but feel it could've been just abit more. Don't hate me for this, i just adore the series and although sometimes animation can be criticised for it, the story doesn't suffer for it and it still follows strong despite maybe some scenes being cut or maybe they changed some things from the pre-animated trailer for the coming episodes.

Isayama changed the ending back in 2013 - 2014 when the anime got popular to please the fans, this is not the ending he had planned from the beggining which explains why it feels like a marvel movie ending instead of attack on titan and so much feels out of character. There's this supposed leaked interview where isayama admits that he couldnt portray the themes he wanted properly because they're were beyond his ability, and that it's his biggest regret. If those leaks are true, then i'm glad he's self aware.

People take scenes out of the episode and edit them individually, it wouldn't necessarily fit the gritty and sinister tone that the scene tried to portray, being all over the place and super epic isn't always the better choice, but in this case this edit would've been way worse in the context of this episode

I'm tired of people bending over backwards to justify subpar work, and saying how Mappa's adaptation "makes more sense!". Yes, Mappa animators did their best with the time constraint and it isn't their fault that their bosses gave them very little time to polish this season. I just wish we could talk about it without being flamed by toxic positivity.

Yeah I agree with you. We can all agree that this is still an incredible show and we are getting one of the best stories for a show in a while. But obviously no one can really argue that this season could be more polished. AOT used to be like a 10/10 adaptation, now it’s 9/10 cos they could do better. But not enough to fully ruin the experience. But they could improve in places, due to their schedule that makes sense it happens.

I have said this before and will say it forever: the fact that they already animated the right scene and put it in the trailer only for it to be replaced by a worse one tells you everything. This wasn't "poor MAPPA they had low budget or time". Redoing a scene (while also making it worse) takes more time and resources. And it's not that they weren't capable of doing it; they just decided for God know what reason that their final version was better.

Came for the trailer version of Eren putting his jacket on, stayed for the amazing re-cutting. It adds so much tension that should've been present in the anime.
Bruh nah, this re-edit was garbo. The music didn't fit at all for this scene, and this took away all of the suspense and confusion of the events happening back to back. Having everything happening at once makes it far less tense than having the dominos fall in order

What about the realism there? In the end, it doesnt matter if it looks real or not, what matters is whether it looks good. The anime version looks fine but the trailer version was better. Thats all

Honestly. I spent hours talking with a friend of mine after we saw the episode about how good the directing and cinematography is in every scene and specifically this one. That scene was incredible, the change didn't make the scene worse, and replacing it with the trailer shot didn't make it any better. It was a great scene regardless of how he put his coat on.

Idk why they messed up such a short but sweet moment. The problem with the shot in the episode is that eren is trying to be cool which doesn't make him look badass. Here he is just putting the cloak on normally but the way it is shot makes all the difference.

Yeah i agree with the other guy, it's the exact opposite. In the anime i got the feeling that he was aware of the lack of time and was already on the move while putting on the jacket. The original shot is great but gives far more of a trying to look cool and feeling calm and confident which i dont feel should be the feeling it gives considering the situation.

Love the edit, and while I do prefer the scene from the trailer to the final one, the music is one I would never change. The music used in this scene is perfect; unsettling and it fully encapsulates the palpable tension of the whole scene. Sound wise it was the best of this season and one of the best in the series.
I like this shot a bit more, but it gives off a different vibe about him, the whole idea was to make him smart in his efforts in war and not look like some overconfident character. He has seen the future and so he must stay vigilant at all times hence why they probs used the shot where he leans a bit more in.
