I tried these two commands and it fixed issue:
service containerd restart
systemctl restart kubelet

You can create an ec2 instance in the same private subnet and access api server through kubectl from that vm

hi, i too suffered with the same error before. But now when i tried with the approach mentioned above in the videos worked very well and kubeadm was successfully installed. You can try this and check.
