  • Is there anything on the Azores that reminds us of Atlantis? Both Plato and Graham Hancock have a say on that. I went there myself to have a look. Beauty exists !!

Very interesting. The Azores also is at a rare triple plate junction. It seems it could very well be at a geological location where such a catastrophic event could happen

@Floyd1504 No its not fitting at all... he talks about a continent. A big part of the world colonized with 10 big kingdoms.
Theres like 2 million soldiers in 1 city.. imagine how many soldiers all the kingdoms had.
This is one of the seven continents of the world.
Atlantis city was never touched by salt water, or the ocean.

@@frosty6960 thats not been confirmed. randall carlson's first 10 podcasts go into this in detail. and the azores plateau ( clearly visible on satelite imaging) couldve sunk into the ocean by tectonics and earthquakes. the azores are exactly on a 3 way crossing of the tectonic plates between the african, european and american plates. so it couldve indeed literally sunk into the ocean, and whats left were just the old mountain ranges.

@@frosty6960 One island in particular - Santa Maria in the Azores, an archipelago located in the mid-North Atlantic - was especially puzzling. This island rests on VERY YOUNG seafloor, which is expected to be rapidly subsiding. In fact, most other islands in this archipelago are indeed sinking.

It's the conjunction of 3 continental plates(African, Eurasian, and North American, I think), which, when under too much water pressure due to melted polar ice caps(high sea levels), buckle downward to end up ~2,000 meters below sea level. This is called 'isostasy,' if I understood correctly, from Randal Carlson. When the earth was cooler, more water collected as ice at the poles, lowering sea levels; thus, the water pressure on the conjunction of the 3 continental plates was much lower, allowing it to pop back up. Prior to about 11,600 years ago, the earth was in a ~100,000 year ice age(technically a 'glacial maximum') and this conjunction point of the _now_ mostly-submerged Azores plateau, was above water, something between a large island or a small continent.
And the transition from above water to 2,000 meters below would have happened almost instantly, in a day or so, because it's not a process of erosion, but of a sudden buckling once the pressure from above reaches the necessary critical mass.
(All this from Randal Carlson - I'm not a geologist, myself.)

    • @georgehunter2813
      @georgehunter2813 Před rokem +1

Azores was originally an island the size of a nation. Truly continental. A high spot at the conjunction of three continental plates. Even now on a mere remnant there is an Air Force Base that can land B 52 bombers. The original intact island was a 'continent.' No exaggeration by any means.
Richat in Mauritania is a fool's gold decoy too far inland, and too high in elevation to be a seaport of any kind. 'Eye of the Sahara.' The only ships that can go there are 'ships of the Sahara.' Camels.
      Atlantis!

I was born on Pico island Azores (Açores) but I consider all of the Azores to be my home and love all the islands the same as if they were one land mass :) and feel the need to protect them its a magical place one can even feel the power of our planet and our Universe all at once deep inside our soul ( raw pure natural energy) its an unforgettable feeling and any one who visits says so not just the ones like me who were fortunate to have been born there, I believe Azores are where Atlantis was but with a twist , what if Atlantis was not only a land mass per say but an intergalactic space ship (or ships) that when they arrived on Earth 25 to 50 thousand years ago they settled (landed) there on top of a single land mass called Atlantis (small continent if you will)-(Plato's circled kingdom-s I believe were space ship-s) (something like the movies Independence :) ) and because of its weight and massive size (sizes) it sunk the land mass where only the highest tips of the land were left visible above sea level something like what we see the Azores now as 9+ islands instead of one big land mass, this is my theory and for the record there are structures and remnants in caves especially on Pico island which date back thousands of years way before my people inhabited these unique breath taking beautiful Islands but still its nothing compared to the magnificent structures scattered through out our planet created by them and our ancestors , structures that were impossible for our human ancestors to have created (built) themselves with out advanced technologies that they obviously did not have but yet we see these ancient magnificent jaw dropping structures all over our world and I believe lots more will be discovered especially under water... these beings were so advanced that they were considered Gods to all cultures on our world at that time and since then continue to be our Gods. Please don't laugh at my theory cause I to like Plato have a right to one :))) ,, and PLESE protect the Azores it belongs to every one and is there to be enjoyed by every one especially future generations, it is a true Paradise not many places like the Azores (Açores) left on our world because of humanity's greed which seems to be stronger than ever these days... Take comfort in knowing that yes We Are Not Alone in these Universes, math & science along with common sense says so., I must say this video has super images of the Azores but to really experience these Unique islands you must visit in person so you can feel them as well as see them :) .. and yes I do consider my self an Atlantian (Atlantean) only because I truly believe the Azores are the remnants of that so called lost Continent and if so than its not lost but some what submerged and of course I was born there :)

Very well done Rob, good presentation and nice views.
Take this issue step by step, there is more to it, do not quickly make your stand but let the facts speak for themselves..:-)
After all, 'we cannot do research, when we are not first clean and un- programmed'.
Graham did not take the balance of the crust in to account, which after a melt of huge amounts of ice on North-America and Canada ( up to 2 miles thickness) makes a kind of vacuum under near neighburing area's crusts to make it drop down..
And yes, the Açores lie on a triple junction with thin crusts.
