Absolutely, I was in floods of tears from the wedding party scene and when the Jaguars crossed, I just lost it completely. Sublime, perfect ending.

I have so enjoyed "Endeavor." The plot, actors, costumes, music are ALL brilliant. I shall miss it dearly. I'm grateful that I can go back to Season 1, Episode 1 and binge all I'd like. I hate that all good things must come to an end. Thank you "Endeavor."
I shall miss him forever, a character so real and so memorable. It was an unbearable goodbye, like losing a good friend.
Extraordinary series and the final episode was nothing short of exquisitely painful. The human condition in all its glory and failings laid bare. Truely memorable television. I cared about it all.
@loulafata3810 There are 36 episodes over 9 Seasons. I don’t know if they are all available in Italian. Perhaps someone else can help. I tried Google but couldn’t find the answer. Good luck.

I agree with you. I just finished the last episode and I feel like my best friend has left. I know the rest ofthestory. But that doesn't change anything. My friend is now gone. He will never return. 😥

Shaun Evans is great at playing the young, vulnerable, naive Morse where women are concerned.
I love how he always manages to look hurt when required.
Roger Allam a giant of an actor. A dwindling number with such a distinct voice.

me too they could have made 1975 the cut off year because thats when the first morse novel came out. i was really hoping mcnutt would make an apperance he got mentioned a few times but never got shown. i always wanted to know what happend in the simon allbright case and the hugo de vries case. i think they could have shown an episode of morse's sister joyce getting married and morse's niece maralyn being born.

The farewell scene was an absolute treasure. Faure's requiem, Shakespeare's Prospero, Brenham Palace and Morse - all encapsulated in one breath-taking panoramic shot.
Thank-you for never failing to produce high-quality, beautifully filmed, brilliantly acted, sensationally scored television, and for inspiring me no end.
Phenomenal cast, excellent storylines, unique format (timeline by decade) and, IMO, the very best PBS series of my lifetime (70+). I will miss these wonderful characters and actors.
I feel bereft.
After the final episode aired I went to bed with a heavy heart and a tangible feeling of loss.
As did I, this was something that got me through my grandmother’s illness and death and I watched with my beloved dogs…all gone now

Grew up watching Inspector Morse and then enjoyed Lewis and then Endeavour...the final episode was so wonderful. Poignant, beautiful, sad and wonderfully done. Thank you to the whole Endeavour team and for Barrington Pheloung's unique theme music - unforgettable and exquisite! RIP Barrington Pheloung, Colin Dexter and John Thaw.
Poignant farewell to an incredible show. Will miss it dearly but I'm so glad to have seen it and grown with it all these years

Such sublime TV. So many once great series have unsatisfactory endings but not Endeavour, the best was kept till last. Never has a TV show moved me as much as this last episode. I teared up at the wedding scene and I'm not ashamed to say that I cried from then till after the credits. Thank you Shaun, Roger and Anton and the entire production team, you will all be sorely missed.

The best TV drama series from start to finish. Brilliant acting, filming, production , story writing and that glorious, moving music from Barrington Pheloung. Total joy to watch and in our hearts forever. I am bereft and heart broken, but so glad I have lived to see all of it. Thank you Morse and everyone involved. 💔

It's been a must watch. The final episode was very sad and very well done, well worthy of of great writers and actors. The tribute to the crossing path to John Thaw was lovely. I am now going to revisit the first episodes of Morse. Well done everyone and thank you. X

One of the best pieces of casting having John's daughter in the series. Everytime she talks with Morse it's just so sweet. I did wonder if they might get together, even though she was older, they read each other's minds.
Haven't seen a series that has provided everything you want in quality viewing. Joy, sadness, romance, suspense and even horror. Single episodes brilliant stand-alone, and a story of a young Morse showing how he would metamorph into the senior one, even with all his faults, making him into an unforgettable character. Colin Dexter, a supremo in my eyes. I have now read the whole Morse series, each book a treasure. Thank you all, for such brilliant entertainment.

A brilliant tribute to Endeavor and the team. This was such a great series. Sadly missed. Just watched the series all through again and the passing of the cars at the end still made me cry. 😢
Oh what a great collection of drama from Endeavour, which will be missed in just the same way we miss Morse and Lewis. Such fabulous writing and great interpretation by the actors involved. So happy to have watched it, so unhappy it's stopped.
Don't think I've ever loved a series more than this. I stay up late to catch episodes I haven't seen before. The Actors (male & female) are so suited to their roles, the story lines are just brilliant and kudos to Barrington Pheloung for his music! Love it all. Is it finished forever? I'm not even sure what series is last, as I don't think I've seen the last one or maybe even the one before. I know series like this can't last forever, not least because Actors need to move on, but I'd like to be sure I've seen it all. Thank you so much to everyone involved, especially Shaun Evans who is superb! Hope to see him and others in lots of other things on TV, or movies or whatever.
Joan, you’ll be sad to hear that Barrington Pheloung passed away in 2019 of respiratory failure. He was 65. There’s a biography about him on Wikipedia.
A few years ago I discovered that his compositions are on CZcams. Just key in Barrington Pheloung - Topic and you’ll see them all, including Endeavour, Morse, Lewis and more. I downloaded some of them and they’re always a pleasure to listen to. There’s an interview with him too.

I love that just as much now as the first time I heard it when hubby and I watched that episode.
Even though I knew Morse and Joan could never become an item I still hoped it would happen.
I think Morse and Joan remained close ...and, though my memory may fail me, was there not a storyline in. Inspector Morse whereby Joan lost a daughter to an experimental drug by some fraudulent Ddoctor or researcher ...or was that another lady known to Morse... I think the young lady who died was attributed to Morse's niece so who was Morse's sister... I think I am getting muddled, so sorry...

It was so sad i was crying at the passing of jags and the eyes of both morse and endeavour totally fantastic!❤ wish they hadnt ended endeavour it was only 1972. Just gutted there will be no more😢 loved all the cast.

I loved to watch the serie on German TV for a long time - even if it made me sometimes sad or left a bitter a bitter taste. Great actors, great music and great "playing-in-the-time-that-once-was". I could sometimes remember the smell of the office or clothes while watching. Thank you for such a great symphony of details
I actually preferred the storyline and acting in Endeavour to that in Morse. The final episode was excellent and left me with a feeling of loss but also great excitement that I had watched such a well made and well acted series.
There is still a substantial gap in age between the Endeavour in the final episode to that of Morse and perhaps an opportunity to fill it with another series. Endeavour was so good, ITV would be silly to not take it further. What about a remake of the original Colin Dexter Morse stories.

I’m a great estimator of English thrillers and I read every romance of Colin Dexter on inspector Morse. In Italy I saw only 4 seasons but I liked very much this serie and I think it was one of the best of English television.
Words cannot express how much i will miss this series; magnificent unlike any other.

Brilliant cast! The relationship between Morse and Fred Thursday is so warm and lovely, that at times made me cry a little. Rest in peace Messrs Lewis and Pheloung, your respective stories and your music are truly gifts to us. So sad that it has to end.

from Morse to Fred Thursday all the cast were so believable the writing fantastic the author appearing in quite a few episodes (just to keep an eye on things) as he does in every episode of Morse as with Morse this series will be greatly missed

Now all we need is a 3 or 5 part show that joins to the two ends of Endeavour to Inspector Morse.
Saddly it ended But I really want to mention it clear here that ( pardon my french) bloody BRITISH DRAMAS they really know how it works. We watched Happy Valley (James Norton) & now (Shaun Evans) and of course with respect to the whole cast they are so natural.
i ahve loved endeavour fromstart tof inish ,the music, the cast the sotries and hwo they unfolded at the end each episode and oen sotry carried through to end of those 5 episodes, now i am watcign it over agian. bring ti back , theme music is incredible.
Time to watch it all again from the start. I’ve done that already more than once but I think I’ll do it many more times before I’m done.
One of the most beautiful series ever on television, a beautiful hommage of Inspector Morse his early years. Loved the actors, loved the scenery, music, timelines. Sad it had to end, but I'll never forget it. ❤

Brilliant from start to finish, the cast, the music, the story of the beginning of Endeavour Morse.
Wonderful stories but I also loved the lovely stylish outfits and amazing details just perfection.
Being in the US and not being able to view the last episodes-really sucks--will have to wait.. I am old enough to have watched Morse when it originally aired-- then years later when Lewis started - that was another I hated to see end and hoped that a spin-off about Hathaway would start- but then came Endeavour-- such great shows with such great writing- I truly hope Russell Lewis will continue with another spin-off….

I’ve never been so enthralled by a series! I’m grateful I discovered Endeavour late as it has meant I can binge to my hearts content! I’ve never watched a repeat of anything before so this is indeed new to me …. But I love it! I miss the cast they are honestly like friends….just wish I could say it is a mind how you go and not goodbye 😢
