I have sailed with Viking since 2015. I am a diehard Viking fan. I have saied from Carnival to Crystal and I choose Viking over all of the others, both Ocean and River. The service, the food, the comfort, the style, the peace and quiet of the ships. Viking is the best.
This video was unbelievably helpful! I love the top 5 points that you did not expect. We have been thinking of a Viking cruise and the expense is far and above other cruise lines but so helpful to hear the entire experience was top notch. You are also correct that there are not many helpful videos regarding Viking Cruises and I appreciate you taking the time to post helpful information. the trouble with viking is that it is so expensive. And as a solo traveler I would be paying the same as two people, in most cases. Sometime there are some deals for solo but not many.

I have been on a Viking River cruise but never on an ocean cruise. I agree that the food is excellent, and I enjoyed every minute of the trip. We did not get the silver drink package, but my husband is no drinker and wine with dinner is fine for me. Thank you for your video it was very good and informative.
I’m living in RI where Italian restaurants are excellent. Manfredi’s compares very well. The food on Viking is very good. You will not be disappointed in the standard restaurants and specialty dining as well.
I agree that Viking is a “thinking man’s cruise”. If travelers are not accepting of different ages, races or ethnicities, they should choose another line. I look forward to my next Viking cruise and meeting all onboard.
I did the Christmas Market cruise with Viking on the Rhine River three years ago and will be taking the British Isles ocean cruise in 79 days!!! I am loving your insights! I’m a younger “nerd” who loves the historical excursions, but I like fun too!!

We are traveling with my parents who are in their 70s and I was wondering if my husband and I would feel out of place as we are in the younger age group that Viking markets to. Great summary. New to crushing with only one on Celebrity earlier this year and loved it. Considering Viking for an extended family vacation later this year, so this is very helpful since we like to try new things and we have the time now. We lived in North Dallas about 10 years ago and my job afforded me the opportunity to visit all the best steakhouses so saying the rib-eye was great in comparison says a lot. New sub.

Glad it was helpful! My opinion on the extensions before and after my trip did change quite a bit. I don’t think the extended stay is needed on the front end because youre likely docked for two days in the same spot so I would just arrive early as possible in the day and maximize on your boat accommodations. I would suggest extending a day on the back end if you really want to see that destination because when you arrive In the last port there is no time off the boat other than heading to the airport.
Great information. I have been trying to figure out what type of people will be on a Viking Cruise. I love the "thinking man's cruise". We just did Portugal with Road Scholar and that was fabulous, but hence not a cruise. I like the idea of not packing and un packing every day.

I saw your suggestion to take the included excursions but would you recommend all of them or was there and excursion in a particular city you would not take or choose one of the extra paid choices. traveling Katakolon, Corfu, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Split and Venice. Will be following all of your videos as they include more helpful info that any others I've found. Thanks!

I think once you travel on Viking, it would be difficult to choose another cruise line. It ticks all of the boxes for us and well worth it.
