I remember DVRing these during the final years of Speed. I wish I would've kept them. One night they showed like 12 different condensed classic races in a row.

Interesting fact about the event: This was run during the energy crisis that saw NASCAR shave 10% off the distance of a race. In this case the race went 360 laps/540 miles, the World 540. Despite that, 540 miles is still physically demanding even though it was 60 miles shorter.

At least twice or more Bud Lindeman would say "LOOK OUT!"
    18:10 I am always marveled at Cale Yarborough's comb-over.

A pole speed around Charlotte of 157 MPH is pretty quick for 1974. Hard to believe the track record is now just a tick over 200 MPH. The 200 MPH lap was put down by Kurt Busch back when we had knockout qualifying in the mid-2010's. He posted the lap in the penultimate round, but unfortunately it wasn't the pole speed. Another example was when Joey Logano turned a lap at over 100 MPH at Martinsville with a sub-19 second lap in the second round.
