First off, Aaron Spelling. I was expecting something along the lines of Charlie's Angels being possessed by demons ( sigh, no ). But was surprised, this wasn't that bad. Ruth Gordon, c'mon, who doesn't the Ruth? Vincent was correct about this movie, take that Livingston...😄!

I love Ruth Gordon but am glad I never had a mother-in-law like the one she plays here. I really loved my mother-in-law. She was a great woman and I was really sad when she died.

If my sister died (hypothetical one, not my real one, fuck her) and my dad's reaction was to get mad at me for being unable to "just get over it", I'm never going to respect him. Adults (myself included) have this hysterically ironic problem with respect. They act like they're entitled to it purely on the basis of being around longer. But there's nothing special about being around longer, especially if you've never bothered to learn anything. Respect isn't demanded, it's earned.

It's a pretty much typical early 80's type made for TV kinda horror, and one thing that I keep seeing that I think is pretty cool is the mailbox with the address on it. It's 3666, but they film it so that the 3 doesn't stand out so much, you see the 666 much more clearly. I'm sure that's intentional, and I dig it, Thanks to the director, I like that...
Little girl almost dies in fire, Dad says “oh this is just what I need” and Mum decides little girl can just sleep in her brothers room (No need to go to the hospital or anything) 😆👍 Ahh the good old 80’s way of casual parenting lol
Even casual is a stretch. The boy worries more about his iguana than all three of the parental figures put together care about the kids. Realistic tho. I wasn't born yet when my mom's sister died. I'm not even sure if she was. But if the kids in this movie were constantly doing all the chores and forcing the younger ones to babysit their own kids, this would be my upbringing. Except much smaller, grubbier houses.
