The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The congregation also staffs rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.

That was the one in the missal but in our parish they used another one. I remember thinking it was changed for political reasons. It’s a shame that Psalm 43 is unwelcome with one side of the political spectrum. Deceit and cunning! A very good explanation of what is happening today.

Thank you Fr. I do wish and pray our brothers and sisters would believe and trust in God first before believing in what they call "science" and you called it "narratives" which are the devil's plans. Our churches are suffering. If I mention God, I'm automatically dismissed and outcast. But as you said, Jesus was the first to be cancelled. He suffered and died. Who am I to complain but offer everything, all the sufferings to Him. Praise be Jesus!

Father, thank you! oh how do we need authentic renewal. Thank you for linking how we can deal with the evil of today. Just realized how great the love of God to give us a free will. Just as our sin hurts God His love for us remains and He loves us out of sin. Father my family were Irish immigrants who left or were sent out of Ireland due to strife. They too settled in PA. My father , the oldest of 4 children was raised by a single mom after his Dad died when he was 6. He told the story of how the KKK burned a cross on their front lawn because his family was Catholic. His Catholic upbringing too did not breed dislike for Protestants as he married a Methodist and raised us Catholic. My Mom’s family respected our Catholic faith and they learned a lot from my Dad and us kids. My Dad worked in the strip coal mines of WV and we lived in company housing and my Mom shopped at the Company store. We kids did not realize that we lived a very simple life until my Dad accepted employment with the government and we moved to the south in the middle of the civil rights unrest. What a culture shock! How differently our family viewed our circumstances. Despite our being discriminated against for being Catholic in a Protestant south society and for being Yankees . we never looked upon ourselves as victims. We had compassion and respect for people of color and our Catholic upbringing taught us that misunderstanding was the root of the discrimination. Catholicism taught us to show love and respect but to always stand firm in our beliefs. Thank you for reminding me of lessons learned long ago as I face today’s culture.

I agree with most of this, but the beef cattle industry is downright evil. We need to stop factory farming and the wasting of food. Many years ago I worked at a fast food place for four hours. I quit because everything about it was wrong. Including that they had us make a whole bunch of burgers then throw them all away if they didn't sell in ten minutes. This was during slow times too. It made me absolutely disgusted and almost nauseous. Everyone won't be vegan but we must clean up a corrupt food industry and take personal responsibility to not waste food.

Gospel is the word, the word is the truth and no amount of pontification to the word can change the curse, the blessing and the curse. For I not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill. Not the smallest part of the letter of the word shall pass from the law until all things have taken place. Therefore anyone who breaks these commandments of the covenant and contracts or teaches others to do so, whoa to the ones that lead the lambs astray. We do no one any favors by pretending this is not true, it is an act of spiritual work of mercy to tell the truth. Therefore you shall love the lord, the lord alone. The lord who created us. Canon law. The truth of our history shall rein.
