Lost Eden Soundtrack 01- 'Citadel of Knowledge'

- Lost Eden, a Strategy/ Point and Click hybrid game from the now defunct Cryo studios, is one of the most fondly remembered PC games of my childhood. This is partly due to the smooth, moving 3d graphics, which for the time (I was like, 4-5?) were pretty incredible stuff, as well as the art direction and story.
One of the things that always stuck out the most in my mind though, was the brilliant soundtrack by composer Stéphane Picq. The soundtrack was so well regarded in fact, that it was released on CD after the game's release, despite the game's relative obscurity.
I thought I would make the Lost Eden soundtrack available on CZcams in tribute to this much overlooked title.

20 years i have not heard this tune in 20 years. Brings back my childhood.
Here in 2020 to say - coworker introduced me to the game, watched a long play of the game, the music is freaking lit
One of the best game OSTs I've ever had the pleasure of coming across.
best game, best music
I still have my box of the game, nearly intact, with the CD, its manual and all. I haven't played it in ages, but I remember really enjoying it. It was a birthday gift from my mother when I was 10 or 11, along with another game that never worked, so we ended up returning it for Grim Fandango (which I still have in its box too).
It was rather short, but thoroughly enjoyable. Very impressive too visually at the time. Thank you so much for uploading this blast from the past!
Both games you describe should fit that description.
Funny that a new band/artist that comes out and produces quality music can't beat the entrenched Gamer Culture :P
The screechy voice starting.."My name is Eloi, and i am old, these days, i am content to look out at the world from high, in the White Arch, but... when i was younger,.... i saw many great wonders, but from all the tales i could tell, none is more wonderful, then that of Adam. Prince of Mo"
This game was and is the best game I've ever played. Absolutely loved the music and the game too was very awesome, especially because I had a major crush on dinosaurs as a child, and still do!
I've played a lót of games, ever since the days of Lost Eden being released.... Unto this tday... i must say thís game is still a légend of its own.. yet... today... Witcher 3-Wild Hunt, along with its FULL expansion-sets, is the only game that has perhaps surpassed this, in terms of depts, story, impact on the player...etc... Pure magnificence!! Cryo dev's did a superbe job with Lost Eden!!
That's exactly my story
Crushes on Dino's is fine, but I hope you didn't turn into one of them bloody furrys!
Great parts of the magic, I felt when playing this game many years ago came from this exceptional soundtrack !
Thank you man!!! CZcams is amazing, how I missed this amazing music, it takes me back to the wonderful childhood daydreaming that was playing this game
Wonderful. Amazing Quality. 199x games..
Great Music! Great game! It's my childhood! )) Now i have 3do panasonic and still can play this game in original))
3:02 "The Citadel of Mo, in the Kingdom of Mashaar", just the theme alone lets you visualise the superstructure, its huge defensive towers and entry-arcs to the main keepdoors. As old as this game is, its a classic and it was revolutionary when it was released. The soundtrack is still one of the better ones on games released.
I remember that section sounding deeper somehow. Makes me want to figure out how to load the game again to see how it sounded if you were actually in-game. heh
Thanks a lot , I love this music since I first played the game !
thanks alot lookin for it years!
Thanks a lot for making this available, heard good things. Now I've gotta get the game itself... haha.
Music by Stephane Picq. Had this game at release. Music was far ahead of its time for computer games, and for straight up music still is in ways. The album's available on Amazon link for anyone who'd like to support the artist:
Awesome stuff! Consider them fav'd
I love soundtrack from this game ("Lost Eden")!
It's awesome!
I enjoy this game. And music too. Good remix.
“My name is Eloi. And I am old…”
o this song beautiful, great memorys
Ah woops, so it is. I'll edit the video info, thanks for pointing it out!
Also, no probs. It was my pleasure to bring this soundtrack to the youtube public and don't worry about your english, it's better than most english speakers i've seen on the net. =D
This reminds me, I've got to backup that ol' CD!
Forgot about that, uploading right now. =)
There's one very slow torrent- took me like a week. =P
Worth it for the massive nostalgia rush.
@TheEocene He is mute to us, the players, but given the speech of the other characters, we can infer that he is saying things to them. One example would be Ulan of the Ulele, when he says "the velociraptors interest you, Adam of Mo?", implying that Adam had asked.
who still listening to this in 2022?
Anyone else think a Lost Eden 2 should have had an old Adam as the narrator, recalling his days with Eve, and sons Cain, and Abel?
Absolutely superb ! Nice game. Eden.. Sorry... Even better sound track! :)
3 people have never visited the citadel of knowledge
Ah, Ark... pre-beta ost
Not exactly sure, but the soundtrack doesn't have all the songs from the game, just the ones the composer wanted to arrange.
Download link no longer works, At least I can listen to the soundtrack on here.
I think "Enigma band" music
This music always felt like it belonged in a CGI adaptation of Dinotopia then in what otherwise was a little known game (and badly flawed in a lot of ways...it's sad that the epic feel of the music and Dinotopia-like scope of the story didn't match the mostly humdrum gameplay).
i look all over but i want free download music from lost eden.. where i can find?
Give me a day, Rapidshare is acting up- unless you know any other file hosting sites?
How can i download the music of this video? And is it legal to do?
This is giving me some Half-life vibes.
