How To Organize VST Plugins In FL Studio 20 | Clean, Sort, Remove Duplicates & More!

- This method also works for older versions of FL Studio, just the folder location will be different, try this out and organize your vst effects, instruments to your liking! You can create new folders, rename, delete them all, arrange how you like! This is also useful if there are .fst files pointing at a plugin that doesn't exist (simply delete what you don't need!) Enjoy!

I finally AFTER YEARS of having duplicates and plugins I no longer have etc. have been able to completely
organize and remove all duplicates, removed all plugins from this list that I no longer have and now it looks
great when I browse through my plugins. Thanks a ton! Took me several hours to finally get everything in
order and I'm still not done, but it's already a 1000 times better!

The right click - windows shell - finding the actual file location path is the key. There's a bunch of different generator file folders, especially if running multiple hard drives. I've had to stumble back across this both times. Life saver. Just got a new laptop and last thing on my list was clearing out the instrumental channel + button for optimal work flow! Thank you!
and the right clicking is from the explorer menu under plugin database generators

I haven’t even watched the video yet, but this is what I need.
It is way easier to access the folder to edit stuff simply by opening the browser on the left (just do alt+F8) then right click on the folders of generators effects but also SAMPLES or anything else, then chose Open, it opens in windows and you can edit anything.
Dope I was trying to do this but I didnt know it was suppose to go through documents image-line, thanks bro.

Hey I've got a problem in my daw. First of all thankyou very much for this amazing tutorial..I did this and it helped me very much and was super easy to handle everything. But I accidentally clicked something on my add plugin list all my folders are gone from the fxs chain. I can see them on documents folder but am failing to see them in the folder as I have made in fl studio. All the plugins are there in the plugin database but am not able to see them in my mixer channel. Can u help me with it? Thanks
my pattern was (Program files x86 -> Imagine Line -> (chose between FL Studio 12 or 20) -> Data --> Patches -> Plugin database -> Effects & Generators folders are there)

Anyway, it's in C:\Users\(User)\Document\Image-Line\FL Studio\Presets\Plugin database and then you choose what you want

I think I'll make a folder and label it "Junk Drawer". I am overwhelmed by the stock Fruity Generators. Most of them are useful, but I believe there are too many Legacy VSTs. It would be nice if we could customize what is installed at the time of update.

Thanks. What i notice is when i use various plugins and synths, there is about 3 or 4 after delays on each sound drums or pads and i dont want them. How do you manage to actualy get rid of that issue. Is it reverb or other issues. Im more of a cubase and reason bloke. But i like the layout of fruityloops 12 which im using. Thanks,

how can i remove presets? I added a drumpad generator in a channel, and when i want to change the instrument, it seems that the presets prevents me from changing the sound, but i can't seem to disable the preset in the channel...
