Here's the full battle with Flandre! If It looks a bit different from normal it's because I'm using the upgraded texture set.

Do not try this run at home. Seriously, your sanity is on the line. This took me about a month worth of practice over the course of hundreds of runs, and even then when I finally got a no-death run it was on a practice run where I had a stupid death earlier in the stage, but I'm uploading this anyway.
Flandre's attacks are more heavily based on randomness than normal, including where she moves, so sometimes she'll just refuse to get shot on attacks like kagome kagome and starbow break. I got maybe a slightly worse than average random roll here, prompting me to do some fun dodging.
Keep an eye on the maze of love capture. You can do this by learning JUST when to tap left. It's pretty intense, but it saves time and lives in the long run.
Besides that, everything is just about perfect until "And Then Will There Be None?" where I avoid making a hard dodge and bomb due to having a severe case of the stomach butterflies. I pull it together for QED though, enough to stay alive with my remaining bomb stock.

What I love the most about this is that, after Flandre is done trying to kill her, the two just casually start having a conversation about whether or not they should have a tea party
last I checked, battles in the series are more like sparring matches, and bullet hell is seen as a sort of martial art in the touhou world. I may be wrong though.

@@revlo8483 basically, your hitbox in most touhou games is visible, but in this one, it isn't. therefore, someone made a patch that lets you see it for this game, but here, this guy isn't using it, therefore he just knows the confounds of his hitbox, which is impressive.
Never played a bullet hell before, but I think all you have to do is focus on 3 things:
1. The area around you
2. Where the attacks are coming from
3. Where the boss is
The fancy patterns and large scale attacks are only meant to distract you because only a small portion of a large attack actually affects you.

Very true! Although, often you don't even need to focus on #3 if you know the patterns well enough.
Other considerations:
• Staying away from the bottom of the screen. This gives you less time to react to upcoming patterns but simultaneously gives you space to retreat which you might need, which is preferable to being backed up and needing to bomb.
• Streaming, which refers to tactically luring enemy bullets towards you to create openings and give you more space to move in case of emergency. Though only some attacks are streamable.
• Routing refers to the memorization of consistent patterns and the path you need to take to get through.
• Your suggestion is a technique known as reading, where you determine the paths of bullets that aren't just in the immediate vicinity of your hitbox.
When I actually played the game I noticed that the area I focused on differed dramatically depending on the spells.
Slow but dense spells call for a narrow focus so you can doge percisely
Fast spells force you to open up your view so you have enough time to react
Some other spells have you focus way in front of the character so you can doge in time
Other times you need to focus for some parts of the spell to fit through narrow gaps and open up the focus right after to see walls closing into you before its too late.
Learning where to look and how narrow your focus needs to be is a major skill you need to develop for any bullet hell.

undertale isn't even a bullet hell game. people are talking about undertale in the comments and comparing it bc it has mechanics similar to what they have seen in undertale. imo i find it super annoying that people feel the need to make fun of undertale players for being surprised at an actual bullet hell style game when most of them clearly haven't been exposed to it before. how elitist.
Undertale IS a bullet hell game, just a really, really dumbed down version. I mean, really dumbed down. Howeber, the elements of most bullet hell games are there, as well as some other aspects. The Flowey fight, the God of Hyperdeath fight, Sans, Undyne, Toriel, Asgore, and maybe a couple of the minor foes are bullet hell fights to the easiest degree in comparison to bullet hell games like this.

neither dark souls or touhou are hard games. you just have to remember the patterns like the back of your hand through repetition so you can pretend you're more elite than people. Virtua Fighter is harder than either of these games because you can actually test your skill against other people instead of doing the same patterns over and over exploiting AI and design.

Honestly Flandre is hard but not the hardest ex boss. Though many of the patterns are repeating, most people who have no deaths on these games failed millions of times before they achieved this.

This theme honestly kinda gives me chills. Not cause of the boss fight, even though it’s obviously extremely difficult, but for the thought Flandre is done playing by the rules. I know she is playing by the spell card rules, but really I feel she could snap at any moment and go full insane. She wants you dead and she’ll do anything she can to kill you. Then after watching the fan anime and beating her (yeah it took me that long to beat her this game is hard) I realized she wasn’t so bad after all.
Flan being insane is a fanon fan. She even willingly stays in the basement.
Well, it really was meant to be in-game music and works best that way.

The thing that surprised me the most about this stage was honestly Patchouli. She's one of the easiest bosses for me in the regular game, so I seriously underestimated her when I saw her. Pain.
In her defense she was anemic and have asthma for the dust in the old books but still make a boss fight

The best part is that this entire fight had no point whatsoever. Reimu goes back to Scarlet Devil Mansion for absolutely no reason, gets in a fight with Remilia's little sister, then just leaves.
There is a point. Remilia asks Reimu and Marisa to investigate her mansion because there's something going on that triggered the rain barrier
I think that the best way to describe this fight is "crazy enough to work", this stating that the closer you get to beating Flandre, the more crack you sniffed to get there
Having had listened to >200 remixes of this song (Nicovideo has a 45 minute video of CLIPS of U.N. Owen songs!) it's really hard to have just one stuck in my head =)
The one exception for me in Touhou is Marisa Stole the Precious Thing. Seriously, whenever I fight Alice the only thing running through my head is "Why, why don't I miss you a lot, forreeeevverrrrrrrr?" Kind of ruined doll judgment for me.
Honestly, thank you for being so damn good at this. I never would have thought to go through the Spiral of Hate's (Maze of Love's) "walls"...yes, i am attempting the Extra Stage, despite your plea for my sanity. I can get up to Maze of Love, but it's there I usually die. Still, this video does help me see the parts I have not reached yet. Again, thank you.
Maze of Love seems like it has pretty large safe areas, but you would need to orbit around Flandre instead of continuing DPS.

@MRazorK10 Mokou is a bit easier to no-death since she gives you two extra bombs, although you generally have to use them up on rings of death. But the deathbombing also makes things a bit more forgiving - in my no deaths run of Mokou I have on my channel, if it had been any other boss, getting hit like I did on Fujiyama Volcano would have brought the run to a screeching halt.
Pacifist Mokou, now THATS fun. Since Mokou is hard nonspells and easier spellcards, you're stuck facing them longer.
It's all fun and games until Flandre clones herself.

Clearing Q.E.D. is easy with 1 extra life though, if you can dodge the "slow" part you can use the remaning bombs at the end. And even though you lost a life in the part before Flandre, it doesn't change the fact you beat her without dying. Again good job! (Y)
