I loved it! Good job! Thank you! The actress is extraordinarily beautiful, and she is good. It is always a joy to see her. I don't know when, but I noticed you shot some scenes in Tallinn, the city in which I'm living, I liked that! When I watch a movie, I just watch and enjoy the movie and I'm not going to think whether or not it's depicting true facts, I don't care, unless of course they would say that it based on a true story. Anyway I can appreciate almost all the movies because I watch a movie without asking thousands of questions. Sometimes some movies are just unwatchable, but fortunately it's not your case. Hope to have a chance to see more movies like this.

One thing that confused me is to why when the young boy lost his father ... the explanation was that he had left for America. Why is this? His response was more like this would be a normal explanation ... people going to America was not out of the ordinary or wished for in Russia??? I so much enjoyed my two trips to Russia that for me to disappear to Russia would be a joy. I understand it could be acceptable to tell him that his father left rather than having him face death ... I am sure it is done here in the USA at times ... but I cannot imagine if a young person in the USA was told that a father had left for Russia would have so simply been accepted. I would think here the response would be "WHY RUSSIA?". I so wish people in my country knew more about the wonders of Russia.

About the thing you found strange: I don't know why, but years ago it was so popular not to tell kids truth. It was like "when he grows up he'll figure the truth out on his own'. 🤔

    • @thomassmedes3173
      @thomassmedes3173 Před 3 lety +3

@@FenixMovieENG I understand that part ... certainly happened in the USA to tell someone that a loved one had gone of traveling rather than tell them the person was dead ... and back when I was a kid and young adult, unless it was obvious often even the fact, that a person would not be told that they had cancer ...often some other reason rather than to allow the person to prepare for death. But my real question ... why in this movie did they tell the boy his father went to America? Why not some where else? Was America such a desirable place to go and not an unexpected place to go? What is so great about America? Ah for me it is my country and I love my country but why would a Russian mother tell her son his father went to America? Until I was 66 years old I had never been out my country to visit any other county. But at that time I went to Russia. Not sure why I chose Russia but now after having visited twice, I am absolutely interested, intrigued and in love with Russia. I am simply fascinated by Russia. And I wish more of my fellow American knew more about Russia and is possible visit Russia. Perhaps they there would be more peace between our two countries. And if we want to lie to some one and say ... "Ah that person has left to go to Russia" ... they people would not say ..."Oh why Russia?" but rather would say .... "Wow they certainly will be in for a good time! Wish I could go!"

10:53 Peter, Varya’s husband, was told that he has forgotten his bag in front of the box.
11:43 We see that there were money in the yellow envelope.
18:58 Peter wants to close his account because he is going to be in the orbital station “Mir” for the next 12 months (1 year).
38:56 A car hits Peter Utesheva to death.
44:50 Varya has to go to the KGB office at 11:00 am.
48:09 It was Varya who bought the case that Peter placed inside the box 11. The worker of KGB asks Varya about the contents of the case.He tells her that her husband is charged with industrial espionage in favor of one of the capitalists countries, selling them secret projects of the institute in exchange of some amount of money and a guarantee of citizenship.
I’ve highlighted some of the most interesting moments of the movie which leads to the idea that this movie is just the theater show played entirely on the theater scene (the orbital station “Mir”). The show was given in the theater for 12 months consecutively. On the 12th month Boris, a high ranked politician, was in the audience and started to cry when instead of the Leningrad song he hears a song about a lover’s soul shining on the sky, which represents the fall of communism in Russia (the statue of Lenin pointing the ground is given two or three times during the movie). The last theater show, as the clock indicates, ends on 12:00 pm in the 12 month of the year. The leader singer Varvara is pregnant 2-3 weeks on this last show, where the ring doesn’t feet anymore her finger. The child’s father is a second husband who she was forced to love him after the sudden death of her first husband, Peter, the father of her son Slavic, and a scientist who sold industrial information to another capitalist country (the fall of the communism regime to a democratic one). We learn that on the next year Varvara gives birth to a daughter where her father was in prison. In the past she had a family where she felt happy and secure. In the future she is a single mother with two children, a boy and a girl. Varvara and Peter sang a song in their last night of being together. One of the verses of the songs is repeated three times; apples in the snow. Is it related to the Russian war in the cold winter of 1944 where Russia’s army won? Is the future white as the snow or it will be green, yellow, red, or a mixed color of an apple?

Another unexpected closure, unexpected turnover for the series, unexpected just like how soviets are unexpected. Nothing is expected in this whole damn series
Ughh!! The love, the threat, the heat of love, the power of authority the power of being nobody, at least he came out of jail alive at least he has the chance to see his family his lucky one. I am tired to see such a very EXTREMELY GOOD series of soviet. Now I know why not everyone loved that era, love can be good and bitter the same time. You are something to someone but nothing to the positioned one's. No matter what you do you are trapped, all eyes are everywhere, everything is detected if you sneeze the whole country can hear you no secrets to be hidden no shades everything is obvious for them. Moreover hard life tougher life difficult time difficult decisions. When mens where real mens and never give their love away not even for KGB what kind of love is that. A women can only just wonder and pray for such love for such love you'd do a lot. For such love that I'm afraid it's to be seen on screens. Moreover, the soviets opera was something else, I love it so much vah vah vooom so much energy so much power so RICH in everything lyrics sound vocals theatre. Thank you for your recommendation, I think I'm addicted. Everytime I watch a soviets series or film I feel like aaaaaahhhh this can not be real, but sometimes there are scenes where there is date, like 1988 in the office. So much love for russians so much for the heritage they have. So much love to you too to translate this magical story so we can all enjoy it and know it. 0:25 We see the back of a man with a scarf walking towards the stage of the theater.
0:27 The conductor is entering the stage too and we also see only his back.
0:33, 0:35 It seems that these two men are looking at each other as they are OK for doing something (I.e. starting the show).
0:40 A man is pulling a woman aside to clear the way to the man with the scarf.
0:53 The same action is given, another man is pulling another woman aside to clear the way to the man with the scarf.
0:57 There are shown two violoncellos.
1:07 The conductor’s left hand is showing the OK symbol.
1:35 Now we can see the face of the man with the scarf who looks like a young woman. Also the title of the movie is presented: Love By Order.
There are only two dancers dressed in blue color.
1:53 We see only the legs of a man and a woman that are walking on the hallway.
    2:10 We hear a woman’s voice singing.
2:15 The director of the theatre is looking at the photo of a young woman with dark hairs. He asks: It’s that Utesheva singing?
2:21 The old lady with glasses and beads on her neck answers: Yes it’s Utesheva.
    The director says: Excellent singing.
8:51 Varya (Varvara) Utesheva complains: You see the ring? It’s too tight. She asks for stretching it.
10:33 Varya’s husband takes a yellow envelope from the box 11 and places there a black case.

@@FenixMovieENG I truly enjoyed the 6+ hours of interesting entertainment... I cannot help but wonder why my USA country people do not seem to show much interest in Russian movies .... certainly some of the best literature and classic music and my goodness the wonders of ballet come from Russia ... shame that Russians line up to see American movies and it does not go the other way around ... oh well ... I enjoy nevertheless.

Because people like me haven't watched it yet.
I am very pleased to watch this movie, I also love the actress, she played many roles in Russian movies and series.
First time I saw her in Double life

Is the setting the 1980s? No cellphones, but dial-telephone phone kiosks.

У меня вопросы к россиянам в комментариях (пожалуйста))): how close is this to reality in Russia at that time? Humans suck. This makes me want to chain-smoke & drink copious amounts of whiskey, vodka & rum. I lived in Russia from 2007-2017, & I have friends / acquaintances of a wide range of ages who say they miss the USSR, OR they believe life is better NOW (most were more favorable to the USSR). I also recently saw a poll which said 70% of Russian people today prefer the previous system, because of the free healthcare, education, etc. A lot of the Russian films & TV series I see depict the USSR as extremely difficult, especially during the Stalin era. But it seems like Russian cinema is MORE critical of the Stalin era post 1991 than previous. Is it propaganda? Or cultural trends?
I wish I'd been smarter & more knowledgeable (& spoke better Russian :O) when I was there, I would have known what questions to ask...I miss Russia so much, her history has become my hobby...I hope I will be able to go back someday soon...

A vitriolic criticism of the communist regime. Looks like Alexander Zinoviev took part in writing the screenplay.

the smartest scientist became a traitor for a pack of gums, a pair of jeans and a bottle of widow clicquot champagne, ended up getting executed. left his wife a widow, who then fell for a corrupted officer for black caviar, meat cans, salami, chocolates, a pineapple. all those happened in the 80s, nowadays it'll be a lot more expensive to turn a man into a traitor and becomes a gold digger's sugar daddy
