  • Ep. 15 of Gun Table Talk. In today’s episode, I will be going over not only a very popular firearm of the 19th century, but the attachment that was not so popular, the 1860 army shoulder stock. There were other firearms that demonstrated a detachable shoulder stock, but it was most popular on the 1860 army revolver. The main purpose of the shoulder stock was to turn a regular six shot pistol into a short barrel revolving carbine. In doing this naturally range and accuracy was increased, but this concept was not the most popular due to escaping pressure coming out the back of the cylinder, and hitting the soldier in the face.
This video will not be demonstrating the loading and firing sequence that will be for a later range video. If you were interested in purchasing the shoulder stock for your 1860 Army unfortunately, they are very difficult to find. due to problems going on in the firearm world the only way to purchase a shoulder stock is to simply get lucky in finding one.

The cuts in the frame are present in virtually every single 1860 Army replica made.

I have that setup, it is pretty cool and the butt stock makes it even more accurate...

I would love to have one but cant pay current prices in the neighborhood of 400 clams. I bought the wire stock instead.

@@TheMusketMan98 i like it a lot. I have it attached to a pietta 1860 london model with an 1851 style 12" barrel. I know it a fantasy gun. Also has a fluted cylinder that i might move to the griswold because the stepped cylinder doesnt look right on there. I was going to send a pic but cant figure out how.

I recently purchased a stock. Hard to find and expensive. Wonder if ATF would let me call it a Brace, if I attached it to my 1860 Richard's conversion?!
