I see the photos in 1986 and my heart breaks still after all these years. I was alive and a fan when Freddie was alive, I saw them live as a teen. When I look at these photos I see him finally in the house of his dreams, happy with his friends and loved ones, being generous and loving to them. Although I strongly believe he knew he was sick before April 1987 as Peter F claims I think he thought it was still only at the HIV level, and was holding out with hope that there would be newer and better treatments. If only that were the case. 🙁
@@leonorarosales2694 It seems that he already knew he was unwell in the early 80s, maybe as early as 82, although he didn't know what it was. He'd have maybe had an idea and put it to the back of his mind. It's likely that he knew he was HIV positive in 1985. According to Peter Freestone's latest book he was having seizures in 1985 that were likely related to HIV. Looking back it's likely he already had advanced AIDS by the Magic Tour, and certainly by 1987. That he held out until 1991 to finish his work is a measure of his strength, for sure. It is very sad that he had to go so young, but he left us a lot. What I can't quite get my head around - and I've spoken to Peter Freestone about this as well - is that most stars who have been gone as long as he has have by now been kind of shelved. Even Marilyn Monroe doesn't get this treatment. With Freddie Mercury, people actually are still missing the man - not just the musician - after three decades. People who never knew him and in many cases now, people who weren't even born when he was alive. That's really quite a special legacy. Long Live The Queen!
