The Stage is their newest album and probably the most unique by them
As a big A7X fan, although this song has grown on me, it doesn't even figure in my top 30 A7X songs. Some songs that should impress you more are Save Me, The Wicked End, Betrayed, or Sidewinder. These really do them justice.
as a life long metal fan, its far from the best songs by A7X, but its undoubtedly one of the most regognizable hard rock/metal songs ever, thanks to its simplicity.
The stage, fermi pradox, paradigm and exist can be in this list too
Basically this is on A7X’s Black Album equivalent, and this song is their “Enter Sandman” without being as popular.

I love how thoughtful you are in all your reactions/reviews. I totally agree on the fact that you have to listen to it a few times before it kinda "clicks". Not my favorite A7X song by any means, but I do like it a lot. I also felt it was very much written to have wide appeal to an audience, which makes sense since I'm pretty sure this was their lead single on the album. Great video as always, Dave! I look forward to seeing some of those SOAD reactions you've got in the queue. Your critiques and analysis are some of the best on CZcams in my opinion.

They went more simple with this album. Earlier stuff so much different for sure. This album pays “tribute” or “rips off” other artist. Depending on who you ask.
Definitely paid tribute instead of ripping off, they're too talented to accuse of ripping off other artists, to me @ least.
@@Captain_Kirk116 yeah. I think that what “hail to the king” means. I hear Metallica. Megadeth, Iron Maiden, many others on that album.

This A.s .7 song is on my repeat playlist. Any song that has multiple layers between 16th 8th whole note and half note intervals between vocals drums and instruments is alright by me
Man, as a long time avenged fan you've really echoed my own feelings on this one. It's grown on me, and it absolutely slaps live, but it felt really...reductive compared to what I'm used to. But it's a Solid song, and I appreciate it. Thanks man, looking forward to seeing more from you. I highly recommend their song Afterlife. Catchy, complex, and Really, really solid.

The guitar solo in the middle is one of my all-time favorites.
Hail to the king and This means war are two of my favorite songs from A7X and this song came out in 2013. M.Shadows said in an interview " It's just cool storytelling. We got back to what we wanted the band to be in the first place, which is more fun. I don't think metal should take itself too seriously."
I love this song, however I love the fact that you have such a real honest opinion!
What engages a crowd? Besides the obvious, sound quality, visuals, pleasant harmonies, catchy rhythms, powerful vocals, there's the sense of movement or development that really captures the crowd's INTEREST, not just their ATTENTION. Almost like reading a book, the crowd wonders, "Where is this GOING?"...they enter a narrative of their own spontaneous construction--a larger, or alternative, CONTEXT...
Honestly this was a listen multiple times song for myself. But yea in end I decided I liked it
fat bass driving it home, going for a classic rock feel. flirtatious solo that warms up, cruisin, then youre left wanting. AMAZING.

I feel like this channel is one of those that you watch one time and it's like "ehh maybe he makes a couple of good points" and then you watch him a second time and your like, "well maybe he's actually listening to ALL of the instruments" and then next time you watch him and you're like "well MAYBE I'll subscribe" and then the third time you watch him and I'm like, "ok he's pretty cool", and then next time you watch you say this could be a great channel even though he KINDA dogged my favorite band but he's at least a good guy and passionate about what he does and then you subscribe

This album was classic sounds approached by the band. If you wanna listen to their signature sounds after the self-titled album, go check the Nightmare album. I hope you reacts the song 'Save Me'. Hard hitting drums, crazy melodic guitars, etc.
Or maybe the longest one, 'Exist' from The Stage album. A 15 minutes song. 😂

Interesting choices of songs to react to by your viewers ^_^ This album is very simple and more "stadium friendly" generally. I do quite enjoy the softer songs on the album such as "Acid Rain", "Crimson Day", and "Coming Home" though. The Stage is an interesting album with a very theatrical, concept feel about it that I hope you get around to reacting to at somepoint; maybe the title track would be a decent place to start.
There are also a bunch of songs from Diamonds in the Rough and Nightmare that I really dig.
For me its the only one I listen too

I mean, they are both tapping but they are very very diffferent aside form that. Perhaps it is the tapping coming in first with the music building behind it which gives it that vibe.

I love A7X, but their last really great album was 'Nightmare'. Nothing particularly wrong with what they've done since but not up to the standard of their earlier work, imo.
Personally this is the only avenged sevenfold album i like, cant stand their stuff before this like nightmare

I love this song, but the drummer between the rev and wackerman (excluding portnoy) was overly simplistic and kindof boring imo.

Honestly. This is the title song for this album, and one of their biggest hits. It's good, but I think it's the worst song on Hail to the King. 😂
