    Despite not using sketchup i found this video very informative and helpful because you mention standard sizes and considerations for all the components of a cabinet.

      Thanks man, and yeah standards are sometimes hard to remember. I sometimes still find myself looking up the toe kick standard. 😂

    Cabinet depth has a lot of considerations besides just drawer depth. The appliances and countertop material are other considerations. When designing a kitchen I always start with the appliance size requirements, paying special attention to depth needed as clear space inside the boxes.

      @rhwoodshop  Před 4 lety +1

      Good one. That’s another great point. I prefer deeper cabinets because I’m not fond of appliances poking out the front, but sometimes you can’t help that.

      @@rhwoodshop, I agree , lately, I think there is a trend for deeper cabinets. I heard of a kitchen where the 12" upper cabinet depth was not deep enough for the clients 11 1/2" diameter dinner plates. This was due to the placement of the back and nailers. That would be a phone call I wouldn't want to get.

      Oh man tell me about it. Call backs make your stomach hurt. I ask a bunch of questions on custom cabinets because I want to know what they plan on putting in there so their expectations are met and not deflated, but you know sometimes you just can’t make them all happy no matter what you do.

    Thank you for this. Does the program create a cut list?

    • @rhwoodshop
      @rhwoodshop  Před 4 lety +1

      If you use the extension cut list then yes otherwise you need to make your own. I did a video on this subject. I believe it was episode 4
