  • The Ankh is one of the oldest and most common symbols in ancient Egypt. A symbol of life itself, it’s shaped like a cross with an oval head, with three arms that widen slightly as they stray from the center of the cross. The symbol holds significance in many cultures and faiths, but it originated in ancient Egypt.
The Ankh is a mysterious symbol and there’s debate over its exact origins and meanings. In this video, we discuss the origins, history, symbolism, and controversy of the Ankh.

I, too, believe it's an Egyptian symbol, but are the two meanings mutually exclusive? If you are Christian, you believe that Jesus Christ was the Creator of the universe. "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." John 1:3 KJV (among other passages). P.S. As someone else also said, I believe the symbol has to do with sound, that is, vibrational frequency - with all of it connected.

@@stephanieknows1668 The book known as the Bible that most Christians look to and base their religion on is incomplete or even amended in order to suit the lusts of the Romans who pit it together at the Council of Nacea. If you real the Gospel of the Holy Twelve you will find a more complete story of Yeshua's life. His whole life and how he he referred to God as his Father-Mother for the All-Soul has no gender. This is bit one book that was taken out of the Bible in order to suit the lusts of corrupt men. You will know them by their fruits. This is why you see them raping children to this very day and trying to escape account for it. Don't just limit yourself to the Bible they crafted to keep the rest of mankind in check. Shamzu-hor lasted 15,000 (also myth aight) God of the sky Hor's followers era,
few gods remained while others left at the end of Zep tapi, and then the first king in history appeared (hisyory begins not myth) and the gods were nowhere to be seen.

@@bunnydimples1283 I love the vibrating heart! 😄For more info, you could search "ankh, ancient civilization, sound frequency." It's been years since I looked into how ancient civilizations may have been able to move mountains, so to speak: the Egyptians and those giant blocks in the pyramids and megalithic structures the world over. It's fascinating stuff I once spent hours and hours exploring.
But as you perhaps perceived, I was referring to something way earlier. Actually, what is in the Bible I find more mind blowing than even the the idea that, without machinery, the Egyptians had a way to use an ankh such that its sound (vibration) enabled them to hoist up such weighty blocks. By the way, any quotes are from the King James Version of the Bible. Okay, here goes.
All sounds have frequencies, including sounds we make with our voices in the form of speech. So also as per The Book of John, in the New Testament: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." ~ John 1:1 kjv
Keeping that in mind, the first line of the Old Testament, the very first line of the Bible, reads: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." ~ Genesis 1:1 kjv. From there, this divinely inspired text explains just how God did that: He *spoke* our universe into existence. For example, as per Genesis 1:3 kjv: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” So it was with light, darkness, the heavens, trees, and everything in our universe: God *said* there was something and then *there was* something.
Assuming that on some level that's true, now check out what Jesus said, as recorded in The Book of Luke, kjv => 17:20 & 21! 😯Yeah, if what Jesus said is also true, what does that say about ourselves? Food for thought! My thanks to YOU for bringing this all back to mind. 🙂:)

To my eyes the An-kh is a symbol not only for The One ; also a symbol of divine power in that when represented wth a DJed pillar as the central decoration describes the power grid of energy : it is a receiver and relay / its main nomenclature is a key held by the religious hierarchy to bestow energy of the ancients upon Pharaoh. yes. correct
and the eyes...... eyes come in pairs.
eye of ra... is a symbol of a wide overview type of knowledge
eye of horus, was gifted to him, created with detailed craftman ship. it is a symbol of the fine detailed type of knowledge (also symbolizes protection, as horus travels to the underworld at night fall)
(ra and horus, are the same god, that transforms at day and night... thusly both eyes belong to the same entity)
combine the eyes and you have total knowledge
      aka the tree of knowledge
if you combine the two trees,
place the tree of life..... within the third eye perhaps?
      as a mask....
and look through both eyes, you could look outward and look within.
you could see both nght and day
      ra and horus
and see what they see along their complete 24 hour orbit
you could peer into the underworld
      within your own death
with protection.... from death, as does horus.
and be given a steady flow of life from the ahnk
and when the journey cycles anew...
survive to see yourself rising again within the world, along with the rising sun and ra
(....... the serpent said to eve
eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge
eve replied, i cannot for i will die.
the serpent .. .no you surely will not die
      but
he will know, that your eyes
      have been opened)
within death, we are judged for our good deeds and our evil deeds
this is what the tree of knowledge shows us...
      in our deaths
      we see
the knowledge of our own good and evil, at our judgement
but with the protection it offers
      especially combined with the anhk
we may have our own mask of immortality
seeing our death and judgment we come to
      full self realization.
aka moksha.... the escape, or graduation from the cirlce of karma.... towards nirvana
where we are to become god like, become one with god
(also..... look into mosses and his serpent on a pole. sent by god , as a message.
burning serpents, are messages(messangers) from god, like lighting bolts from zeus.
some say angels.... casted down to earth. like both jesus and satan.
the garden serpent.... is known as seraphim....
      meaning
the bright brilliant colorful burning snake from the heavens.
      now look at ra's headdress.
a colorful cobra, wrapped around a burning sun.
ra.... in the garden of eden, as the serpent?
      seraphim
      zahra (brilliant colorful desert flower)
zoroaster .... the bright brilliant messiah of iran. the SHEPARD of camels, and of men
urging us to unite good and evil through good deads and bring back the one true god
      ahora mazda
(all....... religions are telling the same story, using the same symbols, the same characters, and urging us towards, good deeds through full self realization
and this can only be seen full when you accept the two trees
      as the mask of immortality
      BUT THATS
      just MY opinion.

  • @alexanderguesthistorical7842

My own view is that the ankh is a representation of a Corn Dolly. At harvest time, the last stalk of corn to be reaped would be cut and folded by a craftsperson into Corn Dolly, representing the "spirit of the corn". It would then be stored in a particular location, and at the next planting, planted with the first seed, to ensure life passed into the new crop. Corn Dollies come in all manner of shapes and varieties. The ankh could well be a very simple form of Corn Dolly. And as they (Corn Dollies) are representations of the "spirit of the corn", the staple food of the ancient world (and arguably today as well) they naturally possess all of the symbolism and meaning of the ankh.

@@femtheogens Patent nonsense, in my view. TUNING FORKS require TWO prongs for "oscillating vibration", not one. There may be THOUSANDS of these scattered all across Egypt. However, I would say that's because they come from a later time when the corn dolly motif had become a SYMBOL - somewhat detached from it's original purpose. Much like a Christian Crucifix. And therefore could be reproduced as an ornament or a piece of jewellery without needing to actually BE a corn dolly.

My opinion is the ankh represents eternal life of the soul, and exalted life with continued posterity. The Eye of Horus represents mortality, a giving from one state to gain wisdom in a mortal state. Christians would reasonably see the ankh as a symbol of life because that is what Christ offered, and may see Christ as a fulfillment of this. Scitchin’s interpretation that the cross represents Nibiru, the planet of crossing, that which crosses the plane of the solar system. It this is the case, I suggest that the Ank is the original cross and the loop represents the orbit of Nibiru. This lends to the meaning given to the Ankh as the symbol of life, given that the planet’s inhabitants are, in the theory the creators of mankind.

    it should be considerably obvious
egypt, is a place in which life, lives, on the surface of the planet.
the afterlife, is a place that is elsewhere, a land of the dead dead.
and if you look at egypt, what major landmarks define the country?
    its borders, its coast lines,
    the delta
0 in the north is known as lower egypt
    the nile (leading to)
2 ln the south is known as upper(or higher) egypt
1 the east side of the nile,
is the land of growth, farm land, govt offices and housing
4 the west side of the nile,
is the land of passing. here, the pyramids and tombs lay about the surface or within the surface
ra, the sun god rises in the east, blessing the land with the light of day
    and transforms to
horus , as night fall, leading his boat into the under world
the flow of water, is absolutely neccesary for all the people on the surface
and is the main source of resources in the entire country
without the nile, no one could thrive as they did.
and nor would exist the delta, the largest green area there.
this is where all gods would gather with all the other numerous forms of life
this is why they are shown holding it in most of their "hero depictions"
all of egypt, even the tombs represent all life in that empire
(the souls, within the tombs, catch a ride to the under world for judgement,
within the darkness, but a chosen few, may, catch ra, before he transes into horus, and may be granted a place at his side, kings amoung the king of gods. either route is above or below or beyond the land of life, egypt in its entirety)
seen aligned with the map of egypt, the anhk is life
inverted, as would be the setted sun, or where horus travels... below, or upside down
is the land of death..... thusly the inverted anhk represents anti life
very simple, symbology and mythology even language are all approximations and representations of what we see before us
we really dont need to look far beyond that to get the image that the anhk represents
it is north south east and west
the land inwhich the empire and its people thrive and live.
    all centered around the nile
it represents not only life..... but power
and this is why gods would consume it
doing so, represents judgement of the people
    a warning to them
for no god is depicted with an anhk within them
but at the most show with it , in their hand
held by the least populated area.... the top of the delta
(and often avoiding crushing the people that rest in east or west )

Peter, who was crucified by Nero or Rome, requested to be crucified upside down, as he felt unworthy to die in the same manner as Christ.

What if the Egyptian Ankh is the feminine cross while the Christian cross is the masculine Ankh.
Spiritually speaking (gender aside) matriarchal wisdom can begin with a fundamental understanding of the cyclical nature of reality (God).
Represented by the snake in many creation myths, the living cycle has a trinity of a beginning (head), a middle and end (tail). As above so below, the sexes were created in the image of God's cyclical nature where Mother is the head and opening to all beginnings and Father holds the tail to all endings (through which the sowing of seeds allow for the next great matriarchal rebirth). The joining of the two (symbolized by the Ouroborus or the marriage ring) is the sacred union needed in assuring the creation and continuation of new life cycles. To speak of the present day God as "Our Father" is simply an admission to our collective positioning within the bigger cycle.
As all mothers have direct experience with the creator quality of birthing, so is the direct experience of rebirthing the divinity within (baptism) belong to that which is spiritually matriarchal. (John 3, verse 3-8).
Sekhmet statues (ancient Egyptian) carry most of their weight in symbolic memory of what was a mother culture dedicated to the direct experience of baptism. As the leg shaped hairlocks extend from maternal breasts to the womb of rebirth, the lioness's head proportions are such that they highlight the bust of a second animal figure. The Lioness's ears as eyes and eyes as nose (nostrils) brings to life the figure of a reptile. 'Neath the halo headress of the solar egg, the lioness's egg fertilization process being internal (Set) and the reptile's egg fertilization process being external (Setting), such being key components to the safety of entering the trans-egoic or "born again" state. The life threatening fear associated with the predatory nature of a lion and/or crocodile encounter are reflective of the intense ego death experiences associated with the transpersonal awakening process.
In spiritually matriarchal times, illumination could be seen as wearing the false beard (ancient Egyptian funerary "ego" death mask) as the high state of cyclical self knowing; high awareness of both our upper matriarchal half and our lower (later) patriarchal half (compared with a mini lower body replica, an "as above so below" tail end beard extension); in full recognition of her civilizational Underworld, her inevitable cyclical destiny. The male pharaoh wears his beard tapered in reverse, indicating a pointing upwards towards the patriarchal head, divine representative of God's tail end cycle.
Mary Magdalene's anointing and wiping of Jesus's feet with her hair can then be seen as head to tail (toe) imagery as she descends her matriarchal head to his patriarchal feet, thus reenacting the high understanding of the divine cyclical process. (John 12:3)
To carry the Ankh (now the female symbol ♀️) was perhaps to symbolically carry that upper and lower understanding. As the upper matriarchal womb symbolised the fertile birthing of civilization, below, the now Christian cross is carried to place emphasis on the lower (later) "End Times" Father principle of the great cycle.
Lord Ganesha, the elephant headed Hindu diety, displays a cyclical head to trunk symbolism and points to the Mother head of his matriarchal elephant society. Ganesha (like the elephant) wears God's cyclical nature on his face.
A whole temple was dedicated to the ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor, who is the matriarchal "Uterus" personified. czcams.com/video/J0m0zJSEFK0/video.html

The Egyptian hieroglyphes are written in Sumerian Turkic. They translated the ANKH as 'the symbol of life'. But look at the Turkic translation.
They wrote right to left and there reads...
ANKH > ANA KARIN DAN SON RA (sound Egyptian isn't it? also Turkic!)
Ask a Turk what this means: 'Ana karnından sonra'. Today it is exactly the same as then.
    Translation of ANKH:
    ANA KARIN DAN SON RA
All Turks will answer you the meaning, '(life starts)after the mothers belly'.
It means actually 'THE WOMB', that ANKH and not 'The Symbol of Life', they were close but the Turks are the closest and detailed herein.
The womb, is the symbol for where life starts.

Egypt isn't ancient, the history we know of is less than 1,500 years old.
The Ankh is the symbol of the planet Venus, that's why it looks similar its astrological sign.
Mirror is appropriate association, it's the most reflective planet of sunlight, it's 5 times more reflective than the Moon.
It's the symbol of producing life.
Upside down it looks like the original old astrological sign of Mars, (not the circle and arrow).
Mars is known for Wars, an appropriate sign of producing death. (M upside down = Wars, lol)
The Roman Catholic's Globus Cruciger is really a symbol of Mars, not Earth.
Astro-logical signs, Venus = circle + cross under, Earth = circle + cross inside, Mars = circle + cross above

We are all Gods no need to worship anything, no need to look outside oneself. It’s dark.

Changing the names of things proceeds to lies. It is ancient Kemet, The Kemetic style of picture writing is called the Medu Natcher. You are using the Greek renaming of things that they had nothing to do with creating. Whether intentional or not, you are wrong about the history. In this modern era people call ancient Kemet by the name that the Greeks gave to the empire, which is Aegyptus, which later morphed into Egypt. Attributing the accomplishments of Ancient Kemet to the Greeks is the lie that is put forth by scoundrels who wish to claim that the people of ancient Kemet were so-called white people. Kemet became mongrelized, through the mixing of the population with the people that were conquered by Kemet and the various people who invaded Kemet. You call it race mixing. However, race is a modern concept and it is a straight out lie.
