    I use rose water mixed with aloe Vera plant juice and an oil mixture to seal. Sometimes I will put a little leave in with the rose water and aloe. I live in a very dry state so that helps quite a bit. Your hair looks great! Thanks for sharing!😉

      Thank you so much! I think I'm going to start using rose water again. My hair loved it and it was fun to make. A lot of people use the actual aloe plant to make juice and I wonder if my hair will like that better than using aloe vera juice that's already made

      @@DESZREN That’s what I do I actually cut the ends off and blend the whole plant. Some don’t like the peel due to the scalp itching. I don’t have that problem so you can always just scrape out the gel only. It’s great in my hair you should give it a try.I also follow Selina Zinchuk here on CZcams she has lots of amazing recipes using herbs!

    Thank you for the information! I’ve been loc’d for 7 months & I’m wanting to wean myself from my Loctician every 6 weeks and wanting to start caring for my hair myself. I have 2 questions 😅 I’ve been using conditioner on my wash days and was wondering if it’s not good for locs or why you don’t? Also would you recommend one of those shampoo combing tools that fit in your palm & massage your scalp? I could see it doing some damaging loosening locs quicker than normal but I was still curious.

    • @DESZREN
      @DESZREN  Před 2 lety +11

      This is a great question! Conditioner can get trapped in baby locs very easily. Plus conditioner usually contains ingredients to help detangle the hair and we want the opposite of that when it comes to our hair locking. I’ve never used conditioner on any of the sets I’ve had and my hair has been fine but some people swear by it.
      I would definitely not recommend using one of those tools on starter/baby locs! For mature locs that’s a complete different story bc the hair is already fully loc’d. I think using one of those tools can cause more damage than good on immature locs

    Just for the record and history that is a shampoo for horses. Before horse owners put it on their horses they used to test it on themselves to make sure there were no irritants, etc. A question owners liked it on their own hair and it kind of just crossed over but it is and was a shampoo originally made for horses that's now being marketed to humans. It's all fine because we know horses have beautiful coats. I'm going to get some for my own locks and also use it on my dog.
