My Son and I watched CHIPS, and, other T.V. shows of that era whenever I came home off the road as a trucker. He was only two yr old. Now he's 45. I am retired, I loved life back then!
I became a State Trooper ( since retired) because of this show that i used to watch as a kid. Ponch and John on those motorcycles cruising down the highway with mirror sunglasses! I was hooked. Although i didn’t become a motor-officer, it was always my dream. I now ride a Harley and think of Chips every time i ride. Great show and great memories!
I'm from Indonesia. I practically grew up in the 80's watching Chips series on our then only TV channel, TVRI. I came to remember the names Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox very well. I loved the show too. Golden years of good TV shows--from America :-)
I loved this show in the 70s. It was so well cast and good scripts. It rated very well too back here in Australia. About 15 years ago, Eric Estrada was invited to a “Where Are They Now?” Series that aired on the HSV 7 Network in Sydney, Australia. Among some other popular cast from past 70s shows, even Shirley Jones made the long trip to our shores. But it was so awesome to see Eric and Shirley back then. They were so friendly and just had some fun stories to tell us Aussies about their shows.👍❤️😁🇦🇺🤪

You're not the only one. Charge is actually how I stumbled on Chips to begin with! Almost right away I noticed it had a different vibe form most shows, and even now I watch it nearly every day. Three hours happily wasted, no regrets....
I remember the only way I could watch shows like CHiPS , The A Team and other shows I had to go to my friends house because no matter how many times we turned the antenna we couldn't pick up NBC. We picked up ABC and CBS just fine.

Really touching moment Jon and PONCH. I have to wonder, with Ponch being the main character of the CHIPS EPISODE, why was he not Promoted to a higher rank??? Seems everyone else has been promoted. Even Bruce!!! I just got a little sad when Ponch drove off.Would be nice to have 1 more sequel, taking the show into the 2000s.

I really wish Michael Dorn appeared in this as Officer Jedidiah Turner. He is the only actor here who actually became much more famous in the interim period between the end of the series and this 1999 reunion.

One of the funniest episodes is when they pulled over rusty Grier in that little Honda and then had to go to traffic school and rusty shows up
